You know that it rains in their native habitat in Africa, right? They take shelter in large trees.

They seriously need 2 doors open in bad weather so everyone can move in and out

I like how as soon as Momotaro slipped he was like “I’m too big for this today” and immediately got down 😂 I’m happy he’s ok. The boys are getting so big.

Gentaro was making me laugh. He was really hustling!

Genki knows where she is covered from the rain.☔️☂️☔️

A faux cave or shelter for hanging out is needed!!!!!!!!

So funny watching Momo walking on two feet 😂😂😂 . He’s not wanting to get his hands wet.. he’s definitely not liking getting his fur wet😂😂😂

Gentaro is keeping himself and us entertained love him to bits.

I wish the zoo had enough funds to have a couple of outdoor caves and grass in place of the dust and cement! I know the zoo does the best they can with what they've got though, so props to them! Love to the Momotaro troop 🧡🦍

You really believe the zoo does the best they can ? This enclosure is hideous and one would expect these conditions in a country like North Korea, not Japan.

My heart goes out to Gentaro! They have to get another space that he can go to! Its not fair and sad to watch him in the cold! They can open that first door to the small room! Maybe it was still dirty and needed cleaned! Momo sitting in the doorway doesnt help! Thanks for sharing!

The zookeepers prepare for a room to make them evacuate from the rain or severe weather, though.

I notice they do not like to use their hands while walking in the rain. All are walking upright most of the time. Poor Genki really does not like the rain!

I agree with your comment that Gentaro should have his own space. 👍🏻

Hope so. There is an empty space where is not far from the current enclosure although it is necessary to make arrangements or innovate lots of aspects.

ゲンタロウは同じシーンを見てるかのように、繰り返してました。 臨時部屋が2倍大きかったらいいのですがね。

The zoo should make an area where Gentaro can hang out and stay out of his father's way. Maybe even a place outside but with a roof so he can get shade, stay dry and keep warm when he needs to. I'm sure space is limited but maybe it needs to be reconfigured some for maturing Gentaro. That could also be helpful to Kintaro in the future. 😍🦍🦍🦍🦍🥰

I don’t know the layout of the indoor rooms. Is there a way to open a 2nd room for Gentaro? Would that be a good thing to do? Great video today. Thank you!

I am not sure but there are three rooms inside. They can move from room to room except feeding time or cleaning time.

Whoa big guy, that was a close call. Smooth slide down the pole's boys. It's so adorable how Kintaro takes cover with Genki (always loving on momma). Great video GL.

O local é muito bom. Ruim seria estar na selva, muitas das vezes os animais não têm o que comer e também vivem correndo dos predadores.. Aí está ótimo, eles são queridos por todos, têm de tudo pra eles.

I feel so bad for Gentaro, Kintaro and Genki being stuck in the freezing rain when Momotaro blocks the doorway preventing them to get shelter. The zoo should have 2 holding rooms if Momo keeps blocking the entrance to the one room!!

I think it's cruel keeping these animals out in the cold. They clearly look destressed. Surely while they are cleaning the inside enclosure, there should be some warmth provided while they made to be outside.

They are freezing... come one people, let's stick you outside in the rain and see if you shake from the cold. You keep these animals in captivity so you shod offer up alternative means of feeding them. Gentaro is getting the wrong end of the deal and you want to breed Genki again. Then what 5 silverback gorillas in that small space is unsafe. Stop keeping them captive if you don't care about their well-being. You could at least have the roof half covered or even have a system that opens up on rainy days. You only care about$$$ when it comes to the animals SHAME

Lisaecker..... They are safe and have plenty of food and interaction with visitors and their kind keepers and not hunted and killed or have their babies snatched from them. Everything costs money 💰 so on a positive note, maybe you or somebody else, who knows how to go about doing this kind deed, can set up a go fund Momotaro gorilla family fund & we can all if possible, donate to the fund. I will be happy to contribute. This suggestion came from someone else, and l thought that was an excellent idea ❤️

I know people are super concerned about them, and I understand and worry as well. But does anyone know the actual temperature there? It looks like this morning in Kyoto it was in between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit (I’m guessing that is around 5-12 degrees Celsius)…. That isn’t warm, but it isn’t frigid. Plus they are completely sheltered from wind in their area. I’m just saying, I’m not going to accuse the zoo of doing anything wrong because that all seems reasonable to me.

The temperature is fluctuating although the spring season has come. Until the middle of this March, it will be up and down from ten to fifteen degrees Celsius. Next week it will go up to sixteen or seventeen.

Genki was very agitated in the rain and looked like she was cold around 5:00.

I never criticize the zoo. All in all they do a good job. But I just don’t understand why they don’t provide an area outdoors where this gorilla family can be protected from the elements. Why subject them to so much stress?

An outside cave for them to huddle in, or maybe a couple of caves would be wonderful. Like the Taipei zoo!

@Urban Prepping Thanks for your opinion. You could be right. I have some knowledge of English and inform the zoo director of your concerns. So far I met him in his office room in person. I anticipate that he would be a reliable person.

@@Gorilla-Life Thank you so much. If the problem for them is financial, I am sure your subscribers would be willing to donate for some sort of small shelter to help them stay dry. I would be willing to donate if there was a way we could do it from outside Japan. I’m in the United States. Perhaps a Go-Fund-Me or something? We all love the Momotaro family and it hurts us to see how stressed they are when it is raining. Even a partial cover for the roof would help. Just some place where they could sit and not get wet. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
