EyeQue Personal Vision Tracker Review

Yeah... seems like I'm not the only one to say it's inaccurate either.
I did everything by the books except I didn't take a break in between testing each of my eyes. Maximum brightness, told them I wasn't using a screen protector, no contacts etc.

As always - an excellent report! EyeQue: poor. Snellen, and your test lenses ( $40 ), repeated verification - perfect. Saves $$$, going to an OD. You TRUST what you measure, yourself.

I got eyeque test device that has ovprescribed by 1 diopter but the optometrist has given me less dipter way undercorrected. When i got less one diopter of Eyeque my glasses were great. I think you need to try them and figure out the real diopter by substract 1 diopter.

You have to take about 11 tests to get good results. The red green line is finnicky and you have to get a pd frame checker for pupil distance. The test works better in the dark. Do a lot of tests and make sure your phone brightness is high and any filter is off. . The biggest problem I had was to see the red line and hold the phone steady while doing the test so the red line wouldnt disappear. Alll totaled I did about 17 tests. The Axis are the hardest to get the numbers and try the app on a couple of different phones that are high resolution and high pixel density PPI. Headaches can be also caused by improper pupillary distance between the center of the pupils distance across the glass lenses. I am disabled and it is a Godsend since i cant get to an eye doctor.

The concept of wise self measured visual acuity - is critical. I have no trust, any more on any OD measurement. Start with a Snellen, in sunlight, and work from there. If you read 20/60, you now believe it! But you must do it. Even with a -2 D, many can read it. At that point I use my own test lenses, and recommend others do the same. Keep on working. Please check for 20/60, now. And report.

I remember going to an ophthalmologist back when I was about 21. They had a machine to measure my prescription automatically. I was like ok. They then gave me some contact lenses and I was like hmmm these seem a little strong. The girl who wasn't a doctor at all but just a helper was all like don't worry you'll get used to it. I could technically see through them. When you're young, your eyes are really flexible I guess and you're quite good at seeing up close. I later got a chance to talk to the doctor and told her I was pretty sure the prescription was wrong and she said it happens sometimes for younger patients. I didn't say it but I was like - THEN WHY DID YOU USE IT TO MEASURE MY EYESIGHT KNOWING I'M YOUNG? Anyway, I'm 44 now. I think the machine works like it's supposed to. You seem pretty young so I'm guessing that your eyes are just too flexible for this kind of measurement.

Supposedly the more you take the test, the more accurate the prescription. They claim if you take it 9 times per eye then it's the most accurate reading 🤔

Got my first ever -0.75 astigmatism reading in my right eye the other day, despite eye doctor saying I have no astigmatism and EyeQue never giving me a 0.75 value before. Interesting 😂

Did you notice the Axis values given by EyeQue are way different then the opticians results?

My last optician visit put both of my axis values at 170 for both eyes. That's very consistent with my previous prescriptions. Looks like the EyeQue machine is fairly accurate for my left eye at about 165, but waaaaay off for my left which seems to average 20ish.

You didn't follow the directions. You are suposed to focus your other eye on something like 6 feet away or whatever. Your other eye is looking at your phone so it's probably your fault.

I did, and repeated the same test ~2 yrs later with similar results. Maybe this vid doesn't demonstrate correct technique though

I had gone to 3 different eye doctor each one send me home with new prescription glasses, they all say the same thing to me. Give it week to let your eyes get adjusted. Straight to the garbage. I use magnify glasses off the shelf to see my computer screen.
