The release date of this song was Aug 7, 1990. My wife and I as teenagers started dating in the summer of ‘91. I was 17 she was 19. She really liked this song. I played guitar since I was a kid. I secretly learned to play this song for her. When I played it for her I told her I learned it just for her and she cried. We are 45 and 47 years old now and have been together since 1991! This is our song. Still today I’ll pick up my guitar and start playing it out of the blue for her. She still gets a tear because she knows when I play this song there are no words but she knows I love her.

I feel like I'm ruining your story, but I have one about this song too. I dated a girl whose brother ended up being a guitarist in Deep Blue Something. He saw me playing the guitar and I showed him how to play this. So I just wanted to apologize if I had anything to do with the existence of Breakfast at Tiffany's

Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon did a version of this song. They paid tribute to it and also made us laugh in the nicest way. Of course, the original was very beautifully done.

It was the early 90s and these dudes created an acoustic guitar revival amongst metal and rock musicians. After this, everyone had to do an " acoustic ballad". A particularly good one is "Holding on" by WASP.

I understand how you feel, i've been playing this song like 3 times already and makes me sad/happy/nostalgic everytime and my eyes start tearing up. It's a clusterfxck of emotions going on my head. I believe it's because i miss my ex who was the one that dedicated this masterpiece back when we were going through fights and break ups. They both also put a lot of feeling into the song, it's something you cannot describe with words, you just feel it.
