I'm sorry for your loss. I cannot sing but when my daughter was born, I didn't know any lulibys, so this was our song when I would feed her in the middle of the night.

The guitar player is so beautiful that if wings opened behind him I wouldn't be surprised. I love this song and it never gets old.

Nuno is still absolutely beautiful & I agree, phenomenal guitarist!! If you’ve never seen their Queen medley at the Freddie Mercury tribute, it’s well worth the watch! Brian does a video on Nuno’s solo for Get The Funk Out that’s worth watching, too!

My first reaction is harmonies and voices sweet as Phil and Don Everly!

When my daughter was born, I didn't know any lullabies. So, in the middle of the night, when I got up to change and feed her, I used to sing this to her. This brings tears to my eyes.

It's a song that just hits your soul and calms the storm inside.

When the drummer & bass player sit out - and it's still a great tone.!

Should check out Hole Hearted by Extreme as well. Or really their whole catalogue lol. They’re awesome!

I was a kid when this song came out and about 3 months ago, at 38 years old I got married for the first time and this song was our first dance. Everybody went wild when it started playing. Old song, but no regrets! I think my wife is glad I chose this.

Nuno is a madman on guitar. Definitely worth further looking into. "Cupid's Dead" is an amazing track. Perfect Guitar, Bass and Drums teamwork.

I was in high school when this came out and it was everywhere. My friends and I loved to sing along to it.

Just a beautiful love song. Pure.

I first heard this song when my first born was like 4 days old and it was the most beautiful song I had heard as a new momma. It has been his song since.

Jamel, I agree with you about this song. I have been singing all my life, and I learned pretty young to pick out harmonies. This is one of those songs that I really love to harmonize with, taking that second harmony line and just joining along. Beautiful tune.

Yes children out there, when we went to concerts we used lighters because there weren't any CELL PHONES! Enjoy the experience of seeing someone live instead of trying to record it on your iPhone. You will never duplicate everything you miss at a concert when you watch it back on your laptop.

I remember the lighters very well. The lighters always came out near or at the end of the concert and was a signal by the audience that they wanted to hear more from the performers. The goddamn phones have destroyed the value of concerts and should be banned from use there.

The transition from hard to soft singing is truly special...hooked me immediately...and still does!!!

"What would you do if I took those words from you? Then you couldn't make things new just by saying I love you." Actions speak louder than words. SHOW, don't tell.

Just love that harmony. I remember when it came out.People would hear it on easy listening stations and want to hear other music by them not knowing they were a hard rock band. I bought the CD and was pleasantly surprised myself.

This is a beautiful song! I love how Jack Black sings it, he tries to be funny, but it's actually really good.

It's the beautiful harmony that really made it heartfelt and great! Reminds me of the Everly Brothers.

Unfortunately, this song was such a huge success that it almost completely overshadowed what the band was really about and the rest of their work.

This is one of my favorite love songs. It's, literally, just a guitar and two beautifully harmonized voices. It doesn't get more pure than this ... nothing to hide behind.

Your bathroom seems to have gotten smaller - and a bit more see-though. On the plus side, it's got more seats than before ;)

Right at the end when he sings "what would you say if I took those words away". He sings "what would you say" in a soft head voice, then belts "If I" and then switches back to the same soft head voice for "took those words away". It's so seamless and made to look so easy you almost don't realise how insanely amazing that is.

Ha! I remember this from back in high school. And all the girls jealous of Nuno's hair. I can remember trying (and failing) to play the guitar and sing this to my girl back in the day... Must have worked at least a little. We're still married to this day. As far as Extreme goes, I think they were a band that didn't really fit in with any genre. I think too many people think of them as being light rock or just cheesy hair metal. They were sometimes cheesy, but they were much more, musically, than most hair metal bands. The guitar and bass work is amazing. I think Pat Badger is a criminally underrated bass player. And the harmonies were so good. And they did the horn parts just as well as any other rock band that integrated horns, as Aerosmith is also known to do. The drummer did nothing flashy, letting the guitar and bass player take the limelight. Finally, their albums, at least from Pornografitti, were concept albums. The album More Than Words comes from is all about the dangers and pitfalls of living in a decadent society. The final song, Hole Hearted, isn't a sequel to More Than Words, it's more of a revelation of the emptiness left by a life of decadence. Listen to the album, read the book of Ecclesiastes, then listen to the album again. You'll see what I mean. Taken as a whole, that album is incredibly deep and meaningful. And I think most people miss the message.

Age 16, Made out with a girl at the beach, listening to this song on her fathers k-car car radio in the back ground. A fire crackling a few feet away. Never gotten past a weak second base with her but it was one of best memories of that summer. Every time I hear this song it reminds me of that night. The smell of the camp fire and the sounds of the waves, gently lapping the shore. It was an amazing night. I’m really glad that you reviewed this song.

This is one of the songs I was going to recommend to you. I heard a guy from high school sing it and I was blown away. He was that good that there was a crowd around him. This song is awsome. It's was one of the best songs back in the day and become a great hit for 10 or 15 years. It will never get old and it will be a classic years from now.

Their album III Sides to Every Story was way ahead of its time. Them and Jellyfish were extraordinary but their time just didn't coincide with the times.

This song came out the summer before my wife and I started dating. We (She 19 and me 17) heard this song together on one of our first dates. She liked it so since I could play guitar I took time and I learned how to play it for her. Now a few years later (she 48 and me 46) we are still together!

One of my many favorite songs, my teenage daughter loves it too.
