I saw them live in the 80's when they came to this song, the whole crowd started singing and the band continued playing and the lead singer shut up and let them, It was one of the most electric feelings I have ever had at a concert. Saw them a few years later, was down in the mosh pit and feeling claustrophobic, so my good friend and I went up into an area that had been cordoned off, with the agreement of the stewards, Nuno, the guitarist in the video, saw us sitting got the attention of Gary, the singer, and he came over and started singing to us. Best night ever!

This is one of my favorite songs!!! My son and I would sing it!!!🎶 Not kidding when I hear it I get very emotional thinking of my son who lives far away from me.😪🎶😘

In college I had a girlfriend in the choir. One night we snuck into a big lecture hall and sing it together. Such good times.

Nuno (guitarist) has quite a resume and is still rocking to this day! He's played with just about every rocker out there, he's amazing. Actually they both are. I personally, could just stare at Nuno for days..

This was wildly popular when I was in high school. Their harmony was fantastic. Great song.

Can this song really be 30 years old? I appreciated your reaction, and getting to hear a great tune I hadn't heard in a long time. In fact, your reactions and commentaries to songs are helping introduce them to a new generation and re-introduce them to those who may have forgotten. This a beautiful balad, with a great melody and perfect lyrics! Fun fact - the guitar player is Nuno Bettencourt, portuguese born and you can see Portugal's flag over in the corner at the beginning of the video.

I love how the drummer and the guitarist are just sitting there chilling and listening to the great music.

I had never heard of Extreme before this song came out. They were the warmup group for a ZZ Top concert. My brother, my wife and I were sitting about 10 feet from the stage. Extreme played their heavy metal music and then the guitarist and singer sat on the stage right in front of us and played “more than words”. My wife does NOT like metal music, more a disco bunny, But she truly loved this song. As did I. ZZ Top was fantastic too!

It took me a while to realize that this song is a very sophisticated way to ask somebody to sleep together (English is not my native language)

Still one of my favorite songs to this day. Their voices are mesmerizing and the simple acoustic guitar was perfect for this song. 😍 Your reaction to that was perfect. 'Nuff said. 👍

This is the one exception. Everything else is ‘extreme’. The guitarist Nuno, is one of the greats.

Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt is one of the best and fastest guitarist around. 15 notes a second if memory serves me right. He can sing too. He is the main singer on another one of their songs called Rise N Shine 👍

This is it right here!!! My daughter is almost 14, we've been singing it together for years! Like she was still in diapers, OKAY?? She recently asked me (like she was annoyed) "mom, can I take the harmony? You ALWAYS sing it!!" lol. But it can have so many meanings, depending on what you're going through in life... AND there's another version!! Yanno, Jay... I really think you should do original vs. cover reactions....

Extreme was my husbands favorite band when he was a kid. I love this ballad! I also love the Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon spoof of this video. Its a must watch.

💜 SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG, WITH A SIMPLE MESSAGE, THAT ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS 💜

Gary Cherone, the lead singer, said he wrote this song after listening to his girlfriend, it was her words to him, that he put into music. This was their one soft song that went big and it played endlessly on MTV and on the radio back in the day. It gave flashbacks to music from the Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkle in their day. Listen to the Every Brothers. "All I Have To Do Is Dream" or Simon & Garfunkle's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" This was not typical Extreme Music, but another good one was "Hole Hearted" by Extreme which also sounds more folk medley, but with more instruments! Extreme was typically metal, not folk, but these were two of their biggest top-charting singles. Listen to "Kid Ego" for one of their early Metal numbers.

This is one of my all- time favourite songs. Extreme were a rock band, like you said, this was a really cool surprise.

Extreme performed at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert at Wembley Stadium in London and on the day they covered some Queen songs and everyone was blown away. At the time the media hotly tipped this singer to replace Freddie in Queen and at one point Queen did talk about going on tour with him to see how he would get on. It never happened in the end but it very much was a possibility at that time. I was lucky enough to be at that concert and they really did put on a mind blowing performance but i had seen them a couple of time live before so new they where going to bring the house down and so they did. Get the Funk out is another great song by Extreme that is worth checking out, thats one hell of a banging track that will get you foot stomping big time..

I think I remember this at the time, George Michael was mentioned as well, but in the end no one could replace Freddie and so I think they made the right decision!!! They did for with Adam Lambert, but he wasn't Freddie either so I wasn't that interested.

Selena's (who has a movie about her) sister said this was her favorite song. She would sing it with her boyfriend Chris in the back of the bus.

I agree. He is so underappreciated. Saw him in concert a few years ago. Sat in the front row. It was a great concert.

I absolutely love music that is stripped down to just the basics. And you don't get much more basic than an acoustic guitar and two guys that can SING!!!

Simplicity at it's best. Two men and a guitar. Ladies must have been falling at their feet after singing this.

Weird Al did a 'style parody called You Don't Love Me Anymore that is hilarious. From the song to the music video.

Nuno Bettencourt is portuguese, born in Terceira island, Azores, where I live, to an extremely talented family. So blessed to have listened to Extreme perform live in my island and to Nuno play with his family. Love them. Good hearted people.

When I was in college my friend and I took a road trip to a neighboring college. We took two girls with us, that we never had met, because he posted an ad in the campus newspaper to see if anyone wanted to go on the trip and help with gas. Anyways, this song is playing and suddenly the four of us, complete strangers, were all singing this song trying to follow the melody and harmonies. It was epic, and I'm sure we all sounded like garbage, but it was so moving and fun I never forgot it. Keep up the good work JV! Another song from my playlist! 😁

I was (respectfully) informed by the knowledgeable people who comment on your reactions that Extreme are more well known for being a heavier rock band and have more songs.
