Extreme Hoarding: Can Dr. Phil Rescue These Hoarders? | Best of Compilations | Dr. Phil

Ойын-сауық

Richard says his six-year marriage to Kelli ended mainly due to Kelli’s obsession with keeping “stuff”! The couple has been divorced for 12 years and is considering getting re-married, but only if Kelli can stop hoarding once and for all. Then, four siblings say their mother's hoarding is so out of control that nearly every inch of her 9,000-square-foot home is filled with junk, and their father says he moved out of the house two years ago because of the mess. Finally, soap-opera actress Tracy seeks Dr. Phil's help for her hoarding 71-year-old-mother, who could be evicted from her home at any minute, and tells him what it is like growing up in a home full of filth, chaos and animals.

We found money $$$$ HIDDEN in every crack, corner, book, FAKE flower pots. She never had any kids. Beloved, It is a spiritual problem that is. Most all mental issues start in our soul. I hope that you didnt allow docs to push pills that you dont need down your throat. Drugs cause even more problems in most instances. I know from yrs of experience. I know. You need Christ and His word daily. Trust in Christ . Repent of sinning against God. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. God created you. He knows you best. God gave you His word to heal your heart and sanctify you. Trust in Christ who died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead the 3rd day and ascended into heaven where he now sits at the right hand of the Father to mediate for our sins. 2Timothy 1:7For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Proverbs 2:7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life. Noone can come to the Father but through me. Romans 10:The Word Brings Salvation …8But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.…

I haven't watched my tv in about 3 yrs because of all the clothes. They're in every room in my house except for the bathroom & kitchen. Not thrown down in the floor. Hanging on clothes racks. On the backs of chairs. On the bed in one of my bedrooms. My other bedroom doesn't have a bed or any furniture in it because there isn't room. I have plastic crates stacked up to the ceiling in 2 bedrooms. I've spent too much money to just donate them. They still have tags on them. I am 68 yrs old & if I wore a different blouse/sweater every day for the rest of my life I wouldn't wear the same one twice. I WANT at least 3/4 of this STUFF out of my house! I want a normal, organized home again. I've ALWAYS hated clutter! But I am so OVERWHELMED til I can't do anything with it because there is literally nowhere to put it. Every space is taken up. I have damn good intentions to have yard sales & take pictures to sell online but I just can't get started!!! I NEED someone to come in & help me but I can't afford to pay anyone. I just want this clutter gone out of my house so my mind can be at peace. I have a shopping addiction. I discovered online shopping boutiques 7 yrs ago. I buy clothes, jewelry, shoes, makeup, & house decor. My hoard has never been used. I have concluded that I buy things for the temporary "joy" I get when I get new stuff. If not for that joy, there would be no joy in my life. . I have a sister that I have to walk on eggshells when communicating with her. I have no friends. One time we decided to clean the living room for her because it was literally just trash and old newspapers stacked taller than the dining room table. Afterwards she got angry saying we threw out her newspapers from the 80’s. I explained they were soaked in cat pee but she didn’t care. After that I considered her a lost cause and never returned. Patricia, owning it is half the battle. Being embarrassed, knowing it's not right, they're all good signs. You have plenty of reasons why your place is in the state it's in, but you now need ru look forward, and stop beating yourself up on getting here. You will need help, there are professional cleaners on tik tok that will empty and clean hoarders houses for free, without the occupant being shown, and they love this stuff, they do it without judgement. If you can be part of the tidying process, that often works to not allowing this to happen again, because you know what its like to do that break back cleaning. But if you can't, that's OK too. You might not be physically able to, but bigger than that, you might try to stop them throwing rubbish out. Let it all go. I promise the feeling afterwards you'll have, and the life you'll get to live again will be more rewarding than that stuff. You can do this ❤

It's not unlike addictions or disorders which are mentally rooted. Some people hoard stuff, other people have shopping addictions, others are obsessive compulsive. Some people feel safe having a lot of stuff even if it has no monetary value. They may have had a hard life, suffered abuse or have been or become poor. These people need some sympathy and understanding.instead they are being laughed at by the audience and their own family. No wonder they have a disorder.shame on you "Dr" Phil.

I encourage you to keep going. Sometimes things seem to be worse before they get better. I can assure you those drops will add up eventually. If I had done that I wouldn't have had to pay someone to come in and clean out my house. It was very expensive and could have been avoided if only I did little by little as my mother would say.

Keep at it. I've not got many years left and can't leave my things for my young relatives to deal with. I see something and put it in a hallway I go thru constantly, then put it in a box and the day before good weather is called for into the car and next day off we go to the charity shop. Things are disappearing from the basement, the kitchen (I don't cook much anymore), the bedroom (too many pillows, blankets and linens), the office, etc, etc. Enough drops will fill the bucket or empty it.

My sister-in law was a “collector”. She passed in December. My husband is the executor of the estate. We were left with a huge mess. She probably spent several hundred thousand dollars on all of this. We had to have an estate sale. The lady that ran it was gobsmacked. She had to go a moving van and fill it with stuff just to make a little room to organize stuff. After 7 days of sales the house looks like nothing came out. This makes the family feel trapped. We are not making anything from the sales. We just hope we break even. Don’t do this to your family! They will not thank you.
