What if you have a 5yr gap? I did a lot of jobs where I got paid under the table, like running the front office at a busy dental clinic. And walking peoples dogs, taking care of their pets and driving, elderly neighbors to the grocery store and running errands for them, cooking and cleaning for them. All of these things were under the table. Do I include them on my résumé?

Yes, you'd still include them under your resume but under one section only. This section can have a few bullet points about these under the table jobs and what you learned from them! These definitely still count as valuable experiences.

My gap of a year has cost me so many jobs Im sure of it. I interview well and then I get the rejection....so frustrated and feeling hopeless...I have dealt with over 100 rejections at least in the past year and after a dozen interviews..

@@anthonyharmon9265 So sorry to hear that! If you have experiences you can showcase during your career gap, highlight them on your resume and in your interview. You can also explain your career gap in depth through your cover letter. Wishing the best for you and don't give up, you got this!
In April 2022 I was forced out of my 8 year long job due to the pandemic. I picked up another job for 3 months but the owner wanted someone long term and I wasn’t looking for a long term career there (thinking 5+ years), so I left after 3 months. I then sustained an ankle injury which froze up and my family had some procedures they needed done as well so they cared for me then I cared for them. I got a temp job in Sept 2023 for up to 6 months but It wasn’t for me, too physical so I left and signed an NDA. Shortly after the role was removed anyway so it didn’t matter and my mother sustained an ankle injury so I was taking her to work/appointments for a while. I’ve been looking for work since Nov 2022 and I’m really struggling. What should I do?
