I spent some time in Ensenada last year, to try to determine if I wanted to get a place there. Rents were higher than expected, and the security issue was a deal killer for us. Trucks full of army and police, in full riot gear, parading up and down the main drag all day long. And the police were quite hostile. Spoke to one, and he said the homicides are way up, and you always have to be careful and watchful. Not for us.

Why can't i find apartments in Ensenada online for anywhere near as low cost as talked about here?

Hi, I have lived in Ensenada for more than 10 years, the cost of rent is going up, including food, gasoline most of all, and the peso devaluates. The prices he talks about is of course more than 5 years ago, that structure being built across from the tall orange hotel called Villa Marina has been long due built. Even though this video was uploaded in 2020, his video was made way before this past two years.

You can buy property on the coast as a non resident

Ivan forgot to mention the many indigenous people of that area and of the Baja as a whole. They were in Mexico long before the Russians and Spaniards.👍
