She is a beautiful person, and what a wonderful life she’s living. I’m so sorry that her husband passed and for her loss. I live in a very rural area that is laid back and on the “mañana” schedule. I have to call to have propane delivered for my stove. Services are limited as are grocery and shopping options. The difference is it’s expensive to live here. I am considering Mexico in retirement. I grew up frequently crossing the border from Texas to Mexico and back. I love the culture and strong family ties. I wish I would have learned Spanish as a child as my siblings did, but I’m willing to learn now. Thank you for this video.

I absolutely loved your video about yourself and Rosarito. Your home is beautiful. Yes I agree 💯 percent it's important to move to Mexico with a open mind and learn the culture and language. My biggest adjustment was getting use to "mañana" it can mean tomorrow or one or two weeks later. Don't stress and expect things to happen immediately. I live in Playas de Tijuana and my neighbors are Mexican. I feel safe and I just use common sense. There are no expats in my Privada. My neighbors are so helpful and we have a WhatsApp group. I am still taking Spanish classes and slowly progressing. Once I am better communicating I would like to give back by volunteering with the dog shelters.

You're an AMAZING and INSPIRATIONAL Lady dear Erendira. I'm so sad to hear and I earnestly send you my deepest sympathies on the irreparable loss of your dear husband, losing a loved one can be so hard but strong-willed and determined people like you can forge ahead and live the good life. I'm in Querétaro, and the reason why homes here have Tinacos on their rooftops, is to compensate the water pressure, at first it seemed weird but you get used to it and besides the CEA has recently improved water pressure so we no longer need a water pump, and yes every place is different. I have family in Aguascalientes and the reason they have tinacos on their homes is to have a ready supply of cold water, depending on where you live in that locality, the water gushes out from boiling hot to mildly hot. Thank you for sharing, 👍and greetings 👋from Querétaro. 🤠

Great video. I would love to know someone like you to learn Spanish and the ropes to getting passports, Visas etc. have you thought about teaching Spanish on KZread? The ones living in Mexico have an advantage of being submerged in the culture and language. So if you have a bank in Mexico, why do you travel to the U.S. to pull out money? What do you do for drinking water? Do you have washer and dryer? Do all your kids live in the US? What is an estimate of what it cost to buy land and have a home built? With all the Americans and others moving to Mexico, do you see the cost of living rising. I would hate to see the locals priced out of their city/town.

Rosarito is fine, but not the best location. Often, they have marine layers that come in from the ocean, so you cannot even see the ocean mornings and it's a bit inconvenient, because it is a bit remote. I prefer further South in Mexico. For that area, Ensenada is a more complete town, but it doesn't compare with Puerto Vallarta or perhaps anywhere in the tropical or volcanic belt across Mexico. There's a big cost-of-living benefit to living South of the border and I like the family culture in Mexico, too.

First you need to see if you meet the requirements for residency through "Economic Solvency". Check the Websites or email most any Mexican Consulate if it's not listed. They all have different requirements hovering around $2400.00us to $2700.00+us per month income for a Temporary Resident Visa. You should get an 180 day Tourist Visa if you've never been here before, to see if you like it the area(s) you are thinking of moving to. Every place has a little different vibe. It's definitely not for everyone. BTW-McAllen Consulate in Texas has/had? lower requirements than most Consulates, but that could change. Buena suerte!

We are adopting the same type of food. If you goo the IHOP in US and Mexico the serve the same food the same if you go to California, Samborns, Tox etc. If you go to a American restaurant you always will be find in the menu a Mexican dish, nachos, fresh salsa.

Beautiful experience and advise. Just one suggestion. You may want to use the term people from the United States instead of referring to them as "Americans" because that's a wrongful appropriation of that word by the people of the United States of America. Americans are ALL of us from Alaska to the Patagonia. BTW, México's legal name is Estados Unidos Mexicanos and none refers to us as people from the United States of Mexico. Just a comment to improve justice for all. Be well and enjoy living in Mexico.

Check real estate prices between Tijuana and Ensenada, and compare to better Costa Rica beach prices. As well, the Costa Rican police aren't in a constant shake-down mode whether transit, state, or federal. And drug dealers go to PRISON, they don't control law enforcement. Mexico is NOT safe anymore, check with the USA State Dept.

I had a home next to Puerto Nuevo for over 14 years up until 2007. The drug trade started to negatively affect the quality of life for the many gringos and Mexicans. Many gringo neighbors couldn't afford rising prices and increased theft. Alcoholism was rampant, bored gringos (most who didn't speak Spanish) just hung out at home and in bars. I bailed and moved to Costa Rica for quite a few years. Much nicer and a government that educates and takes care of their citizens and visitors. But, to each his own, many gringos can't handle living too far from the states.
