All I stated was that the mints were currently useless since there isn’t online battling. ANY Pokémon can be used to beat the campaign, regardless of its stats. I am here because it is a POKÉMON video, and I wanted to understand the new mechanics of the game. @@pokatana4130 it doesn't actually make them unique though, it just makes some bad and others good. There's basically 1 or two viable natures for any Pokemon, ditto for EV spreads, and you're always going to want perfect IVs other than a few niches where you want basically 0. It makes it so any Pokemon you have are inferior unless you wanna spend actual days breeding and EV training for a single mon, and in the end, there is no diversity cause everyone is after the same min/maxed mon

    @@TheMoribund666 I don't hate the ELs they implemented in Legends Arceus. It's way simpler and enjoyable to make good mons. But, I have to disagree on the idea of everyone having the same min/maxed mons. This might apply in 6v6 singles, but VGC doubles is different because some player will have their own unique EV/IV spreads and natures (there are several good natures, not just 2 viable natures) for one mon because they want a mon to outspeed a certain mon or take hits better. It honestly depends on how Pokemon wants to spice up competitive battling to make battling enjoyable in the competitive community.

But then he started to really crank up his hate campaign and it just turned me away from him completely. Thankfully I watch several other PokeTubers and watched several live streams of PLA. Those live streams convinced me to try PLA. And I love PLA. I’ve sunk in close to 30 hours at this point I’m only 2 stars away from max rank. To summarize (for those of you who are confused): This version does not have IVs. Every same Pokémon will have the same base max stats. My level 100 Pikachu will have the same base max stat with your level 100 pikachu. The only difference is EV and nature. EV let’s you grow each max stat by a percentage from 0-10. Then you have nature. In the poke-verse, 20 out of the 25 Nature parings provides an additional 10% boost to one stat, and reduces 10% for another (there are 5 natures that do not change stats). As highlighted in the video, you can reverse/change the 10% bonus with mints. So in hindsight, if your level 100 Pikachu has the same EV stats and nature as mine, it will have identical stats. The only reason for “nature” rolling is for mons, for example Luxray, where you could go either the Attack or Special Attack route. In this case you can selectively catch the right natured Shinx. Of course, you could just use a mint to change the stats, but having the right nature gets rid of wasting a mint use.

    So using the Grits sooner than later makes no difference? Or is it better to max the EVs at a lower level and then level up?

  • @The11IsaN

    @The11IsaN

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@fuli2975 so yes and no. Regardless of what you do, whether you max out a stat at level 5 or level 100, it should result/end in the same value (given the same nature and same Pokémon) The advantage of increasing EV early game is that your mon is that much stronger early game. Leveling EV up increases base stat so you’ll be able to deal more damage (or take reduced damage) while you’re trying to beat the game. I guess you could wait until your mons get to level 100, but by then we should’ve already beaten the game so getting stats up doesn’t really do much (as of right now) in my opinion

And now I want to do that in legends (get really good pokemon). So my question is this, did IVs and EVs get fused in this game? Does it matter what they start with since you can get them all to 10 anyways? It seems like it doesnt matter what you catch since you can change natures and use grits to get all stats to +10. And if it does matter what they start with, is it just rng on what pokemon start with or is there a hidden mechanic where the more you catch the better they turn out to be, like in lets go? IVs are all the same across the same mon. The only difference in “growth” is EV and nature. Of course, you can change the EV growth and stat distribution with a mint. I think EV matters a little in early-mid games where you want better stat mons and don’t have enough grits/money to acquire them. Speed can be important in this game, cuz you may be able to move twice before your opponent moves (different from the other games). Also, less investment if you catch one with a higher RNG. Alpha’s I think already give you 10 EV distributed randomly (3 being the highest for any stat). Other than that, I think it’s just for collection purposes.

    I figure that Pokemon, when possible to transfer them to other games, (e.g. to Home) will get their abilities assigned randomly (just like with mons from Gen1-2). If they do not get the ability you want you might be able to replace with ability patches at some point. I also believe that the pokemon will lose their effort levels above 3 - as 3 seems to mathematically refer to 31 IV) and the effort level system just isn´t in other games at this point. Max efforting every stat at once would destroy all other "older" pokémon if they´d keep their boost after transfer

    Wow. Legends Arceus makes hardcore training more accessable. I want to try that. Golem is first. Geodude is a great Pokemon available really early in the game. I was thrilled that Legends Arceus lets me get a Golem without trading. I would like to take training further. It is so easy to level up in this game. I nearly started the coast zone. My team is already around 40s to 50s. When a Pokemon runs out of attacks to learn, the attributes can have further training. I like offense so the two attack stats are good. It would depend on the attacks. Golem may do better with physical moves, so it could benefit from high attack. I also have a Gardevoir. That may do better with special moves and special attack. This is a lot to consider. Thanks for the explanation.

    I'm really confused about the IVs in this game, I keep getting different information. This is what I read online: "Pokémon Legends: Arceus has also removed the IV system, so IVs no longer have an impact on your Pokémon's stats. However, some wild Pokémon may already have some ELs levelled up when you catch them. This may be a remaining influence of IVs in the game, but ELs can be raised regardless, making IVs functionally non-existent in the game."
