I'm honestly surprised there wasn't more of a thing with decorating your house in-game. I know there's no real purpose to your house other than changing the time of day in-town, the neat little things of putting the mechanical furniture pieces on display, and also that one poke-doll you get from that one side-quest. Like, I feel like you could play the entire game without ever having to go inside your house; there's a storage box by the front gate and at camps, you can sleep at camps, and you can change your clothing at the clothing shop, other than Rotom there's no real special reason to ever go inside your house. I'm not asking for full-on like Animal Crossing, but maybe change up some pieces to add a little personal flavor. Convert the hanging fish pot hearth thing in the center to like a fire place or change the fish (some houses have it as a Magikarp, others have it as a generic fish; it's like a decorative metal fish holding the pot up) or pots, turn the pattern of the futon or even turn it into a more traditional-Western bed, Magnezone's dex entry implies there are radios in this age so maybe add a radio, put a couch or change up the color or style of some of the furniture that's already there, maybe some curtains for the windows, some more trinkets as mission rewards like with the doll, wall-scrolls or paintings on the walls, etc.

@@kristopherthompson1342 I won't argue with that, but I feel like a lot of things that felt like were missing can be rectified with updates and potential DLC. I feel like the whole thing with the Miss Fortune sisters has a lot of potential; I just feel like their repeatable fights should be harder or something, maybe after a certain amount of times you battle them they get bigger teams, I don't know. The other branches of the Galaxy Team, the Security Corp, Medics, Builders, etc. I feel like they got the short end of the stick; you do like one or two quests for like each branch and then it just ends there. The Diamond Clan I feel like got shafted because they aren't as plot relevant than the Pearl Clan, most of the Diamond wardens aren't for the nobles that you actually battle (the only one being Melli; and they're a twat), the whole thing with Ingo and he being in the Pearl Clan, and again Melli is an unbearable twat; also the members of the clans you do fight aren't that memorable or worthwhile (some of them, there's no sense to what Pokemon they have compared to who they're implied to be the ancestors of. Why does Lian, implied to be Clay's ancestor, have a Goomy instead of like I don't know a ground-type? Why does the twat use a Skuntank? Who are they even the ancestor of? Why does the baby, who's implied to be Cheryl's ancestor, have Electivire, Magmortar, and Rhyperior?), you fight like 1-3 Pokemon per fight and that's it.

Ginter is my favorite NPC in terms of functionality because he sold me Jet balls before I unlocked them. What a life saver, since I was able to catch Dialga in one for aesthetics.

@@oBuLLzEyEo1013 Yes I was. I don't think you need to be that high rank to finish the story. I was rank 6 or 7? And Jet ball crafting is unlocked at 8, right? I heard you can beat the story as early as rank 5.

@@yaycupcake that's fine to each their own when I play a traditional Pokemon game I go through every single grass patch every single tile and if I encounter a Pokemon I go all the way back to the beginning and do the whole patch of grass again because I'm crazy...

U don't have 2 do all the side quests u just have 2 c the end credits I have a bunch undone and a lot I haven't even collected but I do have the ability 2 farm mints.

@@flysoup3607 Interact with Arceus and you can swap it with another Pokemon that meets the requirements, the farm Pokemon are not permanent.

Austin, it’s actually possible to get more than 3 Mints. Happened to me only once so far, I got 3 types of Mints, 2 of each type (6 in total). Colza’s speech text was also different than usual when that happened. I guess this mechanic applies to every type of harvest, where you have a small % chance of getting an excellent/lucky harvest.

Your videos are so helpful! I turned my sister on to your channel and we're both using it as a reference for lots of stuff :) . I'm 45 'mons into my Perfect Pokédex Quest, and something that world have been really helpful to know without having to figure it out myself is how to cycle trees! Finding all the Pokémon that only spawn in trees or that have to be seen jumping out of trees (or ore deposits, too) is really tough. From my research, it seems the best way, aside from zoning in and out, is to knock the berries from the trees. From what I can tell, ore and trees don't reset, and therefore can't generate new 'mons, unless they've been destroyed or picked. So to get lots of Pokémon from trees (mostly wormadam, gosh you need to find a lot of them), I've been clearing all the trees that can spawn them of berries, then going and doing something else for a bit. If I come back and the trees have berries again; I know I could get some wormadam spawns around!

Something I noticed when playing through the game is that in the lava dome sanctum (heatran room) there is 20 mud balls in the room so I tried zoning in and out of the cobalt coastlands and it respawns after I beat heatran Just a tip I thought I might share if needed 😁

Ive never realised Ginter refresh His store after catching 20 pokemons. Ive played for 60 hours and just spent a bunch looking for satchels and items to make time go cuz i thought that he refreshed om a timer. 🤦 No Wonder he havent sold me anything for ages. 😂

7:20 I find speed reducing mints still helpful for Level 100 Pokémon. At Level 100, most Pokemon outspeed all the wild Pokémon so a speed drop isn’t bad really especially if it’s maxed out with an EL of 10. I have both my maxed out Gallade for catching Pokemon and Arceus set up this way. Defenses reducing mints, yes, get ride of those.

I literally beat this game a few moments ago, and wow, the best Pokémon game in a loooooooooooong time. I was going to give up on the series if this game didn’t get me excited like the first games did

Same sword/shield was a huge disappointment to me and the only thing I had even wanted was to recollect my living Dex in it but then they didn't include every mon. I'm not even disappointed this game has such a small Dex I hope the do a prequel for each region

@@kymck1816 the problem with not including every Pokémon was that they lied to us and said they did it to work on new animations even though they just recycled old ones

After the latest patch to the game, there's a game breaking bug involving Cresselia. If you capture her before talking to Warden Melli, Cresselia will not give you the plate, and a cutscene will activate where Melli asks you to capture Cresselia, which is now impossible since it's already been captured and does not respawn. Please make a video covering this bug so that Game Freak / Nintendo / the internet becomes avidly aware of the bug so that it can be patched to help those who have been unable to finish the game because of it!

That was the bug that was patched for this latest patch. So not sure why it would, infact gamefreak made it so it will respawn when updated if you don't have the plate so you can continue on that file.

@@2222Kai2222 came out about 11 days ago I believe, and it's 1.0.2, it doesn't say it fixed the bug you got since it will spoil, but they did say they fixed a game breaking bug which was said by others to have been the bug you got. So not sure exactly. But 1.0.2 is the most recent one atm.

I avoided buying the random things from Ginter for so long, 'cause I thought he was gonna waste my money with some useless stuff. Should've known better 😂

I question if Austin even realizes the Rotom items are likely the big reason so many asked for a money guide when he mentioned Ginter cycles his stock every 20 catches you make. All five items will cost a total of 300,000 poke to get, which is a lot of damn money that you can't get in 20 catches. So him saying back in the guide on the djinns to 'just catch pokemon' just seems like he didn't even stop to think why. He even said it while battling Clover, who just like Coin and Charm will give you multiple Nuggets in post game. I think like three of them, so 30,000 poke every time you beat one of those three.

catch every pokemon you see, then release them in batches of 30+ to get the grit items. and if you release alphas, you get grit rocks, which are otherwise extremely hard to get. only way to get all your legendaries and any other important pokemon to all lvl 10 effort levels.

If you look at what ranks you up, it's catching Pokemon, and increasing their research levels. Releasing Pokemon has massive benefits also. The research forces you to catch Pokemon and battle them in different and specific ways. It's the first and only time that the catch phrase of the whole franchise applies

I've gotten 6 nature mints from the farm before. The text from the farmer was something like "better than what I expected" when it happened.

In case no one has mentioned it, I have gotten better harvests where you get two of up to three of the mints. Great video and a big help as I just started worrying about Rotom's page.

if you catch more than 20 pokemon, you have a chance for a "bumper harvest", which usually doubles the amount of mints harvested to 6 for catching 50 pokemon before harvesting instead of the normal 20. you must have caught more than 50 to get 8

Since you didn't mention it (or maybe you did and I somehow missed it) but, if for any reason you want to change rotom back to it's normal bulb form you can just reselect that rotom on the machine it entered and it will revert back to normal. :p

I am learning new things the further I go into the game... if you plan to sell multiple items at once, you know you want to sell them, you can tap Y on each item you want to sell all of, and then after hit A and it will want confirmation.

I love that the shiny addiction randomly changed the whole plan!

Do you think you could make an updated Ginter guide video? Because after the pokemon day 1.1.0 update, I noticed he sold me "a pair of strange shoes", which then turned out to be an equipable footwear item titled slippers. And I just really wanna know what other new weird things he sells after that big update.

After the finishing the Arceus event I must admit I'll forever feel lost until Austin's post game to-do list... It is the added motivation I need to keep playing this game.

My post-postgame to-do list includes getting the last few Pokémon for my non-alpha living dex (there were a few species where I only caught one of the first form and evolved, or only had an alpha of the species), and the longer-term goal of a living alpha-dex. Plus shiny hunting any outbreaks along the way of good-shiny first forms.

Just a heads up, the new update made it so that Ginger holds items from previous cycles now, I went up to him and he had three different items.

You definitely CAN get more than 3 mints in one harvest, I've had it happen twice where I received 2 of each harvested mint, for a total of 6! Great video otherwise, very informative (as always)!

I found my first shiny alpha it was Vespaqueen on the 2nd area, still haven't finished that area but have gotten all the placed alphas, just need to beat the noble but trying to level up some pokemon first

Just something that happened to me but I haven't tested it further. I didn't catch the last quilfish in the outbreak, left back to the village saw that the outbreak was still happening so I went back and 5 quilfish were there and after catching them the outbreak ended

Hey Austin! I’m shiny hunting piplup and getting outbrakes for piplup is hard for me. Do you have any tips?

Fan Rotom is the only one that is immune to ground attacks now because it is also flying type. I got the fan from Ginter as the first item after catching my first Rotom and put it on my team because of it being the only one with a ground immunity now.

Just got the game today. Flipped a coin and decided to get it. I'm having a blast!

Because of the new mechanics in this game, I actually recommend you to not sell unnecessary mints. Due to Power Shift, balancing status is recommended instead of simply increasing your speed or attack stats. I was able to play around with a Power Shift Umbreon which basically turned into aegislash for my team whenever the situation required it.

do you think they would change to shiny form or alpha if you did it with that? I’m trying to get a shiny and alpha living dex and I’d want rotom but idk

In regards to the mints, I've gotten as many as 6 mints, to as few as 2.

Pretty sure you can farm mints as soon as your Jubilife village farm is upgraded enough. I could make mints before I completed the game.

I hadn't seen any of the new Rotom forms in legends yet, I didn't know that it turned him into a mini fridge. That is hilarious, I always saw him as being like at least 6 foot in that form.

Its not qfter all the side quests, its after the 3 farm expansion side quests. Each one unlocks a couple farm options

Austin I have to correct you on the prices. The evolution stones are 5000 but the other evolution items range from 8-10,000 in price. I know the upgrade is 8,000 since Ginter is currently offering that to me.
