BTW, the reason why the twins "acted" like they forgot the card was because they couldn't fake the fingerprint and voice recognition, so the idea was to make someone else who is actually authorized take Yen inside the vault.

3:25 Regardless of whether they know about the robberies, Reuben’s telling them this because his telling lengthy stories that’s a character trait, not a movie flaw. Also, the presentation of the exposition is what counts, not the fact that there is exposition. And in this case, they knocked it out of the park with the use of color, voiceover, and music.

That scene you critique ~ 1:55 to 2:25 was very well done. It completely sets up the history, team work, unspoken bond, and brilliance of the two main characters. Those two subtly working together, ripping off the celebrities, without saying a word about it to each other, and not exposing themselves was very clever. Pitt sets up Clooney with a little gift of cash right out of jail and no-ones the wiser.

I think you got the potholes wrong. They were only planning the fake arrest for Danny, after his conversation with Rusty at The Hideout. And Linus was always meant to play the Gaming Commission guy, because he is the sleight of hand pickpocket needed to get the codes from Benedict. When Linus was asked to replace Danny, it was only to trigger the vault. Which didn't really happen, because that was just a new guy initiation. Both Danny and Linus went down to the Vault to trigger, but only one was needed. The whole ruse, which you think is a plot hole, was just messing with Linus. It really didn't have any consequences. They mess with linus again in Ocean's 12, with the Lost in Translation bit.

@@thegodofallakira6349 Yes they can, but not if the writers keep writing those movies bashing and marginalizing men. That's the difference. When I watch Iron Man, the movie doesn't have to remind me every 10 minutes that Tony Stark is a man. The movie doesn't run down women and make them inferior. When I watch movies with female leads, they often spend a great deal of time doing that.

Not necessarily, a friend of mine from high school did 21 years of a 25 year sentence. He was convicted of 5 counts of felony assault and armed criminal action. He went in for that parole hearing and essentially said, "I have taken every program the Missouri DOC offers, except the sex offender program (note his was not a sex crime), and I would take that too if it would help. There are people who were convicted of murder at the same time I was who've been released (life with parole is treated as a 25 year sentence here, and they were eligible for parole at 75% completion or just under 19 years. In 4 years I am out regardless so fuck you." He asked to leave, went back to his cell and received an immediate release date (within 180 days) which ended up being about 40 days later. So while he might be an exception sometimes mouthing off doesn't hurt. I sometimes think parole boards have a sense of humor, or at least get tired of the ass kissing. Just my 2cents.

What was more wrong, though, is that next to nobody uses cockney slang, even in London. Unless it's 1960.

I will say- with understanding another language- my ability to translate Spanish into English used to be nearly perfect, even though I couldn't form a coherent Spanish sentence more complex than "Como esta?" to save my life. My mom's family spoke Spanish, I heard plenty of it growing up, about 7 years ago when my grand aunt started suffering from dementia- she started to only speak Spanish, she would talk to me in Spanish, I would reply in English- I had also had a second family growing up who was Chinese, got to understanding a ton of Cantonese then- but Chinese is tonal, and really hard to speak- so I was able to speak less of it than even Spanish. My current extent of Cantonese is "hello", "how are you?", "goodbye", the number 8, apple or rice (I forgot which the word was lol), and the curse to have a very bad fall. As someone who is able to understand a new language pretty quickly, but have zero ability to speak it- yeah- totally can happen! LoL!

It still dates that scene, a bunch of b-level cameos. Then again for the setting it's fitting, A-list celebrity wouldn't meet under those conditions. Brad Pitt was in a real poker group like this among upcoming Hollywood wannabes before he was famous.

Not "least favorite". "Least famous" was the sin. And, yeah, while Piper was obviously the best sister, Holly Marie Combs *is* less famous than Alyssa Milano or Rose McGowan. Shannen Doherty used to be everywhere, and Kaley Cuoco is still going with things like "Big Bang Theory".

1:15 obviousely Frank knew Danny, and his situation, he just wanted to continue the ruse that they were strangers as they were in public and a background search would expose his false identity. When Danny called him by his real name, and not his alias, he was taken back and confused for a second.
