It's wonderful storytelling. The whole set up of "Hey, we have a big fucking problem but we're going to pretend like it's something incidental and not the ever tightening grip of certain death pressing down on each of our throats" -- The tension is eased when Rusty, already identified in this very scene as the guy who solves everyone's problems, announces that they're already booked on a flight that will carry them towards their solution. But we dovetail into the next scene with the discovery that there is something that seems pretty ominous in Amsterdam. And, in the end, Rusty nods resignedly and whispers "Don't tell Danny." Because, despite what they said in the beginning, and even with all of their skills, the group is Ocean's Eleven regardless of what people call it, and everyone knows who the fucking boss is.

I just realized that Livingston's share (the least) and Rusty's share (the most) are announced right next to each other, and I don't think that's a coincidence. Rusty then immediately "bails out" Livingston from the limelight by proudly admitting he's short $25 million. Great juxtaposition!

When doing the math to see how they come to $97M owed without understanding Mandarin like they all do ;), I come to $105M. That means that Amazing owed -$8M. I think it’s hilarious and entertaining that they all understand his lines and the audience is simply left wondering. How generous of him to foot all he stole plus the $8M he somehow made on top of it all. 😅 Cutting into the groups deficit and slightly lightening the debt for all of them. What a team player! 😂

@@matts1166 It sort of is. Kind of a spinoff but still takes place after the others. I don't think Ocean's 8 is that bad though either, though its big issue is it seems to not really get what makes the Ocean's movies work. They're fun because they're primarily hangout vibes movies and Ocean's 8 is almost all plot and little character interaction stuff. Which is a shame because its cast, especially Blanchett, Paulson, and Bullock, could have been a lot of fun if the movie was more geared around that than just plot reveals. Blanchett and Paulson especially seem to have a great dynamic together but they never really utilized it in the film. And of course it didn't have Soderbergh working on it which I'm sure hurts.

He was mainly Ben's friend, but when your bro has a younger brother close in age, three year difference, your friends with both. I know I've been there on both sides.
I never got the "don't tell danny" part until now. Rusty wanting to see Catherine Zeta-Jones character once more on the fact he's probably was going to die.
"IM A PRIVATE CONTRACTOR" 🤣
1:19 the brothers were the best 😂
One number 2 movie that is really good
1:46 i wish one day i could be chill enough to say that with a smirk
When doing the math to see how they come to $97M owed without understanding Mandarin like they all do ;), I come to $105M. That means that Amazing owed -$8M. I think it’s hilarious and entertaining that they all understand his lines and the audience is simply left wondering. How generous of him to foot all he stole plus the $8M he somehow made on top of it all. 😅 Cutting into the groups deficit and slightly lightening the debt for all of them. What a team player! 😂
"I haven't spent it all...but I will!" 🤣🤣🤣 I love Saul, he's such a powerful character in his own right, wisdom over knowledge, and knowing the game for far longer than anyone. He puts it down like a pimp OG: "as ranking OLD TIMER, I just gotta say: I can't do it. At my age, I think I've earned the right to be selfish." 🤣🤣🤣
“It will be nice working with proper villains again!” Basher.
I owe 25, hotels man
One of the only film series that just got better and better with each sequel... until the one we don't talk about. But 11, 12, and 13 were FANTASTIC movies.

Ocean's 8 was NOT a sequel.

Thats why we love Rusty!
Casey affleck is a Fabtastic actor. I just love him in everything.
Legend has it... he still saw the signs.

Right now I'm thinking of that song that has those words....(shrug).
Caan really looks like his old man. He's even got that swagger: don't start with me...

It was all good when they had 11 million a piece but when they owed this was a one time thing . I’m a private contractor, this was a collaboration.
