I think Loki’s experience with the TVA gave him the kind of validation he thought he was missing his entire life. Here he had perspective and people who trusted him and no need to prove himself. Then we had Daisy and Coulson trying to save their team from being swallowed by a time storm only for Enoch to give his life for it in the end. (Just a reminder: that was Elizabeth Henstridge’s directorial debut.) Now what Thor said back in Ragnarok is true: even though Loki will always be known as the God of Mischief, he can also be more. Loki has one of the greatest character arcs of all time. He started the show as a god who wanted to rule everyone and everything in the universe for selfish reasons, to a god who selflessly watches over and protects the MULTIVERSE, in isolation, from a throne outside of time and space. Mobius told him that he needed to choose which burden he could live with to fulfill his purpose, and as heavy as it was, this was the only choice in which all of his friends and family as well as all of the people of the multiverse would be saved. He is a true hero now. My heart absolutely breaks that this Loki is now and possibly always will be alone, but at least he can watch over everyone he cares for from afar. ALL HAIL LOKI, THE GOD OF STORIES!!!!

I think it’s both heartbreaking and beautiful that it wasn’t until after Loki decided and declared that “the last thing he wants is a throne,” that he finally got his throne. Not to mention episode 5 when he accepted the fact that he’s afraid and does not want to be alone. This ending was so somber and poetic. Here’s my question… Do you think Loki can duplication cast himself onto timelines to visit people? Can we also talk about how genius it is that the first episode of season 1 and the last episode of season 2 are both titled “Glorious Purpose”? What a beautiful ouroboros. Also… thinking back to Siff’s words in the loop in season one. Really hits different. Lastly… Loki in Thor: “I could’ve done it father! For you! For all of us! Loki in Loki: “I know what kind of god I need to be. For you. For all of us.

Beautiful comment. And about your question "Do you think Loki can duplication cast himself onto timelines to visit people? " I think he can definitely do that. He can cast an illusion of himself through the magic he uses, and I believe he definitely has access to every point in time, in every universe. The only problem I see here is that he is holding the timelines together himself, he's carrying a burden. But still, casting himself in the timeline seems like somewhat effortless action for him. Just my thoughts.

For me this ending was perfect, and also so bittersweet. Loki always wanted a throne and to fulfill his glorious purpose, but here it was more burden than glory, as Mobius said. And Loki said time and time again he no longer wanted a throne, that he wanted his friends and that he didn't want to be alone. So ultimately doing what he did was definitely glorious, but it is undeniably a burden and a great sacrifice from his part. This Loki became the greatest MCU character for me, there's something that's very much larger-than-life about him and I loved seeing his story play out.

This had to be *greatest* Marvel Disney + show conclusions It was cool they mentioned Quantumania Kang, but I’m still salty that they call the mainstream universe 616 rather than 199999

It was never that 199999. That was a joke about how long feige wanted the MCU to last. It's 616 cuz that's the designated label for the main continuity in marvel. So there's a 616 for comics and one for the movies

  • @JackAcre21

@@shadowx8145yea but it would make more sense for the MCU to be a different universe than 616 since 616 is known as the main comic universe. Since the MCU isn’t telling 616 stories, it shouldn’t be called 616.

I never agree with Pat, but I have to give him credit. He said it was a good ending, but it wasn't what he wanted. So many people (the loudest seem to be on KZread) will rip a show to shreds & make it their life's work to tell everyone how bad it is just because it didn't end the way they wanted or expected it to.

I really thought that's what episode 5 was building up to with Mobius showing Loki the jet ski's and saying he couldn't ride BOTH. Speaking of Mobius, I can't believe Owen Wilson didn't say "wow" ONCE during this entire show!

25:00 Correct, he can, you can hear Möbius’s words echoing to him just before you see him in this same scene, he’s connected to each branch and there can witness them all whilst acting as a ‘battery’ of sorts for the timelines (tree of Yydrasil) so long as he keeps holding onto them, so basically he can’t leave Does get the best possible version of ‘inter-dimensional’ cable ever though 🤷🏾‍♂️ so I doubt he’ll be bored, I’d defo be getting some snacks etc somehow if that was me though

When möbius is talking to sylvie at the end they mention it sucks loki cant be there, they then pan back to mobius multiple times with this gold and green lens flare taking up majority of the screen. That symbolizing that Loki is listening in to their conversation at that moment and it is further proven when it pans to Loki’s thread on the first few frame u can hear the conversation they were having echoing from the thread.

"Most purpose is more BURDEN than GLORY" - this gave Loki an epiphany of understanding of what he wanted most - to save to his friends more than anything else - so he replaced HWR with himself and that was his Glorious Purpose in his eyes to sacrifice his existence to replace Kang's nightmare with hope. - Without a doubt in my mind this is the best Marvel storyline imho, and the meta that Loki is literally holding the MCU together is hopefully not lost on anyone else.

It was so fitting that Loki's attempt to become the loom would represent a tree but in particular the tree Yggdrasil which would hold all the branches together. With Loki's sacrifice in this finale it would appear he finally learned the lesson Thor tried to explain to him about what it means to rule as a king, and I'm certain his brother as well as Odin & Frigga would be so proud of the Asgardian he's become.

Great finale Tom Hiddleston's Loki has arguably the BEST character arc of any MCU villain or hero in the entire 2 decades of Feige's MCU! With the end of Loki Season 2, I'm for sure betting we'll see more of Hiddles as Loki in the multiverse saga! I like that this version Loki essentially had to actually come to terms with his "purpose" without the burden of the same guilt from Dark World or Ragnorok, and also the death in IFW. well done all around

It's not just killing Sylvie to save the "sacred timeline". It's also killing every person, civilization and alternative possibilities that are snuffed in order to maintain the fixed loop of time that HWR 'ordained' As they established early on, each branch is countless lives that are not only killed but are also unlived. Experiences that never happened, ideas never thought, art never made, relationships, families, creatures, evolution and large swaths of creation that are not allowed to happen because one person decides it.

I believe Kang was just a normal human that figured out how to travel outside of time then created the loom and tva to keep himself in theory the only one that ever was allowed to exist as a kang varient.
