Antony Starr is a remarkable actor. What a performance he has given as Homelander in The Boys. Instant fan.

it's really interesting how he seems to change over the course of the show; season 1, he seemed dangerous in a nearly composed way with an underlying barely restrained danger but a capacity to remain calculating when needed. And he's since just continuously gone increasingly off the rails -- by the time we hit season 3, he's got that wild-eyed insanity way more often.

I assume thats to show his (Downward or Evil) Growth, and realizing that "Vought" who had basically spent his life brainwashing him into being afraid of them in the sense your afraid of upsetting your parents, but now hes coming to realize that theirs no one that can tell him what to do and hes spiraling because of it, just my opinion :)

@@manuba_ Very well put and very true, he did think that and then after losing control and lasering the guy for hitting his son with something small, and people didnt turn on him, and also because the only person that really had control over him is dead (By his hand) but she controlled him because he was desperate for a mother figure, and the whole milk thing...

madelyn stillwell's death scene is so hard to watch, everyone is giving anthony starr lots of credit (well deserved ofc) but elisabeth shue's incredible range is what sells it, so far we had only ever seen her on top of things and above it all but in her last scene she's finally been broken

watched this show twice and i’m still in shock at just how good anthony starr is, this is one of the most terrifying characters every time he’s on the screen, there’s just a constant anticipation of never knowing what he could do, and he executes it perfectly

Antony Starr as Homelander is, unironically, among the best acting jobs I've ever seen in cinema or TV. He elevates the character so much and just makes it work perfectly

Although I despise the character, the actor always gives a top-notch performance. He really embodies Homelander. Not to mention the writing on this show is brilliant and the cast is fuckin phenomenal. Gen V was a nice appetizer though. It's something to hold us over until next year. I can't wait to see what they have planned for next season.

Those people tend to have a genuine love and admiration for evil fictional characters as well. There's a difference between appreciating the actor/character, but actually loving them is something else. Again, please seek help if you genuinely love this character or any other evil characters.

There's a difference between loving the character because of the performance despite their actions, and loving the character and their actions. The former is where I stand.

He is an extremely well-written and human character, many characters from other series/films don't do half the evil things that Homelander does, but they are so poorly written that you can't like them
