Soldier Boy was easily the best addition to season 3. It would be an absolute shame and a waste to only use him for one season. He better come back in season 4

I actually think it was Jensen himself who asked. He asked Kripke who he was friends with the 15 years they worked on supernatural together if he could be in the show. Kripke gave him the most iconic role in the boys universe, and rightfully so

And he’d finished up on Supernatural and was on the phone just chatting with Kripke and asked how Kripke’s new project, being The Boys was going. And offhandedly asked if there were any small parts he could do as more of a cameo thing. And instead Kripke asked if he’d be interested in being Soldier Boy. And that was that. Pretty sure that’s how it went down from memory. Kripke left supernatural after like season 5. But they were still friends and kept in touch.

Jensen knocked this out of the park, he always gave his all and I’m glad Kripke got him for this role, especially since they have worked before and could have been Captain America.

I don’t get why butcher didn’t let soldier boy use his power on homelander and Ryan . His ability doesn’t kill the victim it just removes their powers , surely Ryan losing his powers aswell as homelander isn’t exactly a bad thing …they’re talking like Ryan would of died ?

@@bluesky2195 i’m sure most supes can survive falling off a roof, they all seem to have basic durability (though i do agree ryan is probably pretty high up there). but so far, maeve has greater feats than ryan and she was badly injured, almost killed by SB’s blast. there was no way of telling if ryan would’ve been killed or not, especially since he’s still younger.

I'm 78 now, really happy to see our hero come back . Our savior .

Think one of many reasons why Soldier Boy was the best part of season 3 is because for the last 2 seasons, we’ve been living in fear of Homelander and the 7 who have had an outrageous advantage over the good guys. So to get an absolutely bad ass character introduced that not only rivals Homelander but puts him and his team in fear and changers the hierarchy of power, knowing that there is a system of checks and balances in this world. Absolutely bad ass. Think the boys heavily fucked themselves over with how they treated soldier boy in the last episode though.

The Boys are stupid for that. But I guess the writers needed to split them up from Solider Boy. When they can't think of a good reason, you end up with something that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. They could of just agreed not to kill the child I'm sure. Must be a setup for next seasons plot.

Soldier Boy was just a comic relief character in the original comic. I love what they do with him in the show

What surprised me the most is that Soldier Boy only had around 13 to 15 minutes of screentime.

Funny how Soldier Boy turned into the real hero. They should have just let him do his thing but now Homelander is alive and has a little Homelander as well.

9:32 Butcher's heat vision is actually and almostly has the same strength with Homelander's. Being able to causing a scar on someone like soldier Boy requires very high power. Cuz Soldier Boy is also more durable to radiation meaning he's also durable against extreme temperatures.

Jensen is amazing in ever role he plays.

No matter what they do, they still can't kill Soldier Boy

So I am well aware that his whole shtick was that he represents all the worst parts of masculinity from our grandparents generation. Don't cry. Don't show emotions. etc etc. But honestly I still loved his character and wish certain elements of that masculinity were around today. Such as getting the job done no matter what (perseverance) Sticking to what you started (dedication). Not letting your emotions cloud your judgment during high stress situations (level-headedness). Thats what makes his character so great: the nuance. You cannot place him into black or white - he exists in the grey area. And all the best characters in film, television, literature, etc exist wholly in the grey area,

We should not forget the diffrence between Soilder Boy and Homelander Homelander is Pure Evil

No one is pure evil... Homelander is a narcissistic sociopath whose brain is incapable of feeling love or empathy due to having a corrupt childhood with no parents to teach him anything. Soldier Boy is not a narcissist, however, he is a sociopath. Soldier Boy is capable of feeling love and empathy, he just doesn't empathize with humans because he believes that they are beneath him.

Ok why does Prime Video UK not edit out the cursing on their clips but America does?? Shows like this, editing them takes a lot of the humor out of it.

Funny thing is Soldier boy was the only one right in the end. He knew what had to be done. HL was using Ryan as a shield. The way Kimiko was so happy because she was human. It was Beautiful.

I honestly think that when starlight was fighting Soldier Boy, she should’ve burnt his eyes out, blinding him, he would start to panic and charge up his nuclear power, then Maive would’ve had the chance to grab him and push him out the building. Instead she built up that power in that time and it did absolutely nothing to him, which makes her look weak.

With what has been demonstrated or conveyed as the physical laws in universe i.e. the same as ours then M.M.'s story doesn't add up. Regardless of strength a person with two human sized hands can't simply grab a car and toss it. Just think about it

They have to rebuild the tension, so they've temporarily sidelined Soldier Boy and nerfed Butcher with his diagnosis. Once things look dire enough, rest assured Soldier Boy will make a dramatic reappearance.
