2023 has been my worst reading year as well...in general it was shitty year for me. I just can vouch for one book that literally stayed with me and is gonna stay with me for a long time if not forever....the book is called 'Notes on an execution' by Danya Kufaka. So impactful that I had to dm the author to tell her how close and precious the book is to me. That's all that stands out in 2023 for me.

Getting in a reading slump really sucks but I’d say don’t try to force yourself back in either. If you’re not feeling it you’re not feeling it. I took a bit of a reading break earlier in the year and did other things instead, and after a while I was really excited to get back into it again. Maybe your brain is just on strike after Iron Flame 👀

I have not had a good reading year. But I was surprised recently when I gave a book one star and discovered that it was my only one star of the year. To be fair, I don't give them out often because a one star means I didn't like anything about a book and that is rarely the case. But nonetheless it was nice seeing even in a poorer reading year I still only had one one star.

This year in books wasnt as good as last year quality wise for me too. Tho i will say, last year i read some absolute bangers 🔥 Would be curious for your thoughts on Berserk if you ever read it.

I like to make reading part of my daily habit for mental health. Reading in the morning while having coffee, or taking some time after a stressful day to read and relax with a cup of tea. Reading before bed is a must to help me turn my brain off. I hope you find ways to bring reading into your life in a relaxing way. Maybe re-read a favourite?

I've read almost 200 books. lol And, Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow was one of my faves.

As a teacher who is also going to grad school, I am also burnt out on reading for now and its taken me a while to accept that. But its okay to get burnt out on some hobbies and take a break.

I love how every AFTG fan (me included) says it's not good, and problematic, and also a 5/5. AFTG is THE representation of "your fave is problematic", it doesn't matter which one is your fave haha
