@@wilhelmorangenbaum2 some have put forth the material sufficiency view of scripture (which states that everything that needs to be believed is in scripture, but implicitly in some cases, so the assumption of Mary isn’t explicit but can be brought forth from typology and is thus in scripture; some at Trent held to this view) instead of partim partim (some things that must be believed aren’t in scripture at all and are only in oral tradition). Wagner posted something on Twitter which seemed to bend toward material sufficiency but he told me it was a different position that the scholastics held, I’m not familiar with the position, so I’m hoping he does it here!

Which positions on the suffiency of Scripture can a Catholic hold to? Do the schools differ in their positions on this? Also, what are good resources on this?

Very nearly .. perfect (all nuances necessary - or sufficient - being taken as given or allowed). And delivered with emotional investment .. yet having the functional structure - to help make it work (as a set of principles, in practice and theory). Great stuff. Why would Christian want to debate Michael?

I’ve heard a lot of people criticize lofton, and I’ve yet to hear someone make any good points in their attempts. I’m definitely open to it, and you’re normally the most intelligent person on this site, so my interest is piqued

There are plenty of good critiques of Lofton. Lofton has some good aspects and some problematic aspects. I'd be careful to not act like many of Lofton's followers who believe Lofton to be right in everything and dismiss any valid criticism of him as coming from someone who is secretly a "dissenter" or a "rad-trad."

I like this Michael Lofton. Heʼs a treasure to the internet and a blessing for Catholics. Sedevacantist like Br. Diamond and Mr. Marshall aswell as the antipapists on the Protestant and Eastern Orthodox sides are very loud and increasingly influencial. Without honest and reasonable men like him, the guys from CA and PwA I propably wouldnʼt believe in Pope Francisʼ papacy, too.
