IDK, Never saw a brickie drink coffee, I've seen many a few drink a few slabs of VB whilst working. You see their perfect work, become wonkey as the day progresses, not a joke.

My next door neighbor is a concreter and gets $400 for the day. If it rains half way through they still get the full days pay. I think they get paid so much because there back will be fucked before retirement 🤣🍻🤣🍻

Problem is then Garn would be at the behest of one of the small handful of global corporations that own almost every broadcast television station, with the exception of tax-payer funded stations like the ABC. If the ABC picked it up we'd end up with some pile of garbage resembling The Project and nobody wants that haha.

This is spot on. When I did it we did 25% bricklaying, 75% a combined down the pub because it rained a few drops for 15minutes or my boss fighting someone, in the pub/on-site or the mechanic fixing his jet ski/dirt bike/truck that week. The money went on beers and those bingo tickets, I don't know if they still do them.

The summer of my junior year of high school I worked as a bricklayers helper . it was the hardest work I've ever done . If the bricklayer runs out of block or mortar they just stop working and yell " I need mud or I need block " . Then the big boss gets pissed at us for not working fast enough to keep them supplied . It's really tough when you are 3 or 4 scaffolds high . It did make a man out of me .

Good luck mate, especially if you're over 21. I gave up trying to get an electrical apprenticeship after a few years when a comms traineeship opportunity came up. Taking that was the best career decision I've made.

There was a show in the 80s where 7-8 yr old kids asked how different careers worked (butcher, doctor, pilot, etc). I remember the brick laying episode... they picked it up in 3 minutes... could of got a job straight after. Probably did.
