Agreed and this ones the best version imo.

Imad Nabil that’s completely false ben moody AND amy lee made the band what it is not the other way around he made my immortal and bring me to life and co-wrote imaginary these were the hit in the album they together made the band unique and fresh

WALRIDER - wrong. The first version was made in 2002 for fallen, it wasn't on Origin, her husband's name is Josh, not Sean. And he wasn't her husband back then, but she had an interesting conversation with him and he inspired her to write the song, you can look it up, she talked about it back then in an interview in 2003 referring to him as "this guy" and then just last year she talked about it and how weird that they eneded up marrying, but whatever. Still Ben and David played a huge role in the band. I was only correcting the fact the Ben wrote Imaginary and Bring me to life, I'm pretty sure they're mostly written by Amy.

Wow, trying hard to discredit Amy, aren't ya? "ONLY did the vocals and A LITTLE piano" excuse me, the vocals and her sound are what made the band unique, and not A LITTLE piano but actually A LOT if not ALL the piano parts are written by her (some by David in Fallen and Origin). And as someone else has said, when she wrote Bring Me To Life, she hadn't married her husband yet, but she already had a crush on him, he was her psychiatrist, she was dating someone else and he was with another too, but they'd known each other as friends, she's said it in an interview.

Even David said it, Amy is an incredible lyricist and a songwriter and that played a huge role in the success of Fallen. Amy wrote all the lyrics for all the songs on Fallen except for My Immortal (Written by Ben Moody) AND Tourniquet (The original version was written by Rocky Gray for his band Soul Embraced so this song was mainly a cover not an original Evanescence song) so Amy wrote the lyrics for the songs: - Going Under - Bring Me To Life - Everybody's Fool - Haunted - Imaginary - Taking Over Me - Hello - My Last Breath - Whisper Plus B-sides (Missing, Farther Away, and Breathe No More (which was written solely by her BTW) Ben and David focused on writing the music (guitar parts, riffs and programming etc.), while Amy was leading the narrative and the stories behind all the songs.The three of them made the perfect combination musically. So please stop discrediting Amy or any of the band members past or present if you don't know all the details. I just wanted to clear out some of the misinformation that was spread around concerning the writing of the songs. I highly recommend all of you to watch the video I posted above. We only know these versions: Evanescence EP, Origin, Demo 1, Demo 2 and Fallen. And now, of course, Synthesis. So there are 6 recordings that leaked/have been released.

I'm so happy this song was included. It is my favorite Evanescence song. And the fact that it's one of Amy's faves makes me happy.

And this is like one of the true OGs. The first version of Imaginary dates all the way back to Evanescence EP, from 1998. That version… sucks ass imo but then they made a second version in 2000’s Origin, which i love, and of course the Fallen version from 2003 we’re all familiar with and have attachment to, and now the Synthesis remix from 2017

One thing for sure, there will never be enough versions of this song.

This song was already good, but this is a masterpiece. Loving Synthesis a ton.

Considerig how Never Go Back and Lacrymosa started with sections originally halfway through the song, I'm surprised this one didn't start with "Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming" like Origin or have the deleted verse. Oh well.

Ooops I just realized Dorian Airington made basically the same comment... well...

Since 2003 this has always been my favorite song. I'm so glad it's part of Synthesis. My favorite version still remains the Fallen one, followed by demo v.2, but needless to say there isn't a version I'm not crazy about. Thank you, Amy.

Imaginary has been and will forever be my favorite Evanescence track! They have never messed it up no matter how they did it! Such a golden track!

I loved the original but her voice in this is just phenomenal!! She puts so much power and emotion in the end there. just love it

Watching this version of imaginary performed live made me feel something I have never felt in my entire life! It reduced me to tears. The whole tour was incredible and this is by far my favourite evanescence album ever. I have never stood up among that many people and gave a standing ovation that just wouldn't end. Synthesis live was absolutely mind blowing.

This song has had so many versions and I've loved every single one with every fibre in me. This version was not a let down. I'm so glad. 🙌🏽 I can really appreciate it.

When this album came out I remember exactly where I was, I was in Florence with my now ex boyfriend who wasn't really an Evanescence fan, and when I heard this album I was surprised but really didn't listened to it carefully,in fact I didn't even notice that this song was on in,and when I listen to Imaginary even on the first album,I loved to see this song's evolution, now, 3 years later I am still surprised but in a very positive way! Not only this song feels so complete, but the whole album is so great! I love the old sound of the first albums not because I dont want them to change, but just because it's the style I've known them for at 9 years old and the style that I still reach for even in other bands (I dont know if that's clear) but this song is a part of my childhood and the song that me and my current boyfriend like the most,this gives me chills!

I look at this version as hearing in clarity what the "background instruments" would do, like the violin. The drums and guitar would overpower these sounds. ^^

BrittanyAnnTodd that's your perception that's perhaps distorted by your taste in music. To me, the earlier one was more imaginary and out of the world, while this one in just a memory of the old song.

I think Imaginary and End of the dream are my fav synthesis songs... so beautiful😍

15 years later and this song still strikes such a chord with me, one of favorite Evenescence songs.

This was my very first Ev song years ago & to hear it reimagined is just amazing❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍

Fallen was one of the first albums I owned (I was like 14 when it came out), and this song was one of my FAVOURITE songs. At the time, I really related to so many of the songs, and it remains one of the few albums where I loved every single track. I just discovered this album, and it's been a delight to find all the songs I loved when I was much younger (and maybe felt like I'd "grown out of") redefined and redeveloped into something new and mature, and possibly in the direction Amy originally intended them. I know this might sound dumb, but I've gone through some painful personal growth in the last few years and it was just cool to find that one of my favourite bands from back in the day went through it, too.

I like it. The rerecorded lyrics are powerful. It doesn't give me the same feeling as the original though. The original was and remains my favourite track by Evanescence.
