The only safe songs in this semi wherever they are are Sweden, Poland and Australia, maybe Estonia but less so. I’d be really worried for Serbia bc it is a song that people prefer after researching which the public won’t do.

I think this is a very strong list. But seeing now that Finland is first, it's usually not a very good position. People might forget them easily and I think Malta will go through because she might be last before the first break.

my personal #1 and #2 are both in this semi (Serbia and Azerbaijan) and I'm afraid neither of them is a certainty to get through, not least because of their dodgy draws. I'm a big fan of the Estonian entry and conversely am pretty sure Stefan will make it into the final. I'll be delighted if Georgia somehow sneak in, but am not expecting this to happen.

Don't worry, a good stand-out song and a confident performance will qualify from any place. Serbia already qualified from 3rd place with Nova deca, a few years back. everyone is so fixated on the running order but the spot doesn't mean much, only the song and the performance. Azerbaijan almost always qualifies no matter where they are in semis.

I was definitely one of those people who thought semi final 2 was the stronger people but I'm now realising that it's so open. You have a few certain qualifiers but then the rest are all open and anyone could grab them spots to the final. Ah YES!!! The video I anticipated the most after the first reaction video. There are a few no-brainer qualifiers here as well as a large group of probably qualifying entries, which makes predicting this one almost impossible. I'm rooting for a strong Belgian, North Macedonian, Irish and Georgian performance, while Estonia's and San Marino's entries grow on me. I'm a sucker for spaghetti westerns and especially the Eurovision House performance of Stripper was awesome.

Only ones i’m 100% sure will qualify are Poland and Sweden, but based on what we’ve seen from the lives I reckon Serbia and Estonia should get through fine as well. Czech Republic will depend on the live, if it’s good they’ll be ok, but i’m worried the juries may not respond well enough to it, it feels more televote-friendly. A few people reckon it’s a surprise nq, i reckon Finland might be in the same nq position (and like it’s been said it’s rare for the openers and closers to all qualify). Azerbaijan and Australia are quite similar in style, same can be said for Israel and Romania, so I’m doubtful we’ll see both from each pair in the final, but we’ve seen them all deliver on stage so i’m eager to be proven wrong. Cyprus is one of my favourites so i’d hope it qualifies, it’s likely but until we see the staging it’s difficult to be sure. If some of the lives aren’t impactful enough i feel we could see Malta or even North Macedonia sneak through in the final spots (but it’s quite open, as a lot of people have pointed out, personally i hope Ireland will get through too, agh there’s too many songs i like in this semi!!).

21:00 Conchita, Mäns, Salvador and Duncan won despite performing in the 1st half at the grand final: Yes, but all of them were given a privileged spot in the 1st half (10th-12th spot), so that doesn't say too much really. Running order doesn't have much impact in the semi-final (there are fewer songs and most of the televoters are Eurovision fans), but it does have an impact in the grand final (especially when it comes to the televoting).

San Marino has stolen my heart this year ❤ I hope he qualifies!

I think WRS would be in the bit of unfortunate side, because Spain is in this semi judging and therefore also have an interval act, and I worry that Spain's Spanish entry will cloud WRS as the more memorable Spanish entry. I see only obvious definites to qualify gere: SWEDEN and POLAND. Very probable qualifiers appear to be SERBIA (despite the awful draw; my personal #1 of the whole 40) and AUSTRALIA. And I'd be highly surprised if all three of ESTONIA, FINLAND and CYPRUS don't make it. leaves three slots to fill, and now it becomes pretty hard to call. my hunch is AZERBAIJAN will explode on stage (it's my personal #2 of the 40, something very special I think) and CZECH REPUBLIC will make the most of their closing slot to get in. the final slot is probably between BELGIUM, San Marino and Romania ---- very very close between these three....... but supporters of Ireland, Georgia and even Malta shouldn't give up hope. North Macedonia, Montenegro, Israel? I can't see it.

i haven't given up hope for Emma at all, i am still very happy about her running order draw, definitely one who can stand out as most professional compared to the likes of Georgia and San Marino, as well as performing right before the first break possibly getting that extra momentum as well from that first break, performing after a break is usually worse, and performing after second break is worse than after first break

20:50 It is true that Conchita, Måns, Salvador and Duncan all performed in the first half, but they WERE given a favorable spot towards the end of that half. Theoretically, if Cornelia draws the first half in the grand final and placed very early - it could drastically hurt her chances. I wouldn't worry if I were her though. To paraphrase Orwell, in Eurovision all countries are equal but some countries are more equal than others, and Sweden is definitely on of those countries. They were never placed earlier than 8th in the first half and 20th in the second half, and with the exceptions of 2017 and 2021 they were given good, late spots in the semis too. Sweden is like the popular girl nobody wants to mess with, and I'm positive they'll get the best possible spot in the final, regardless of them already getting a p!mp spot in the semi.

Even Denmark missed out despite performing last. Running order matters but it’s not guaranteeing anything.

I’m agreeing with you about this semi. I thought the whole time that this semi is the stronger of the two, but it isn’t. It’s weak. The reason why many people think it is the better semi, is that everyone has a different opinion who is going through, because most of the songs are evenly good.

Semi final 1 is stronger but people say is weaker because it's easier to predict because there is a gap between 8th-9th best song and 11th-12th best song Semi final 2 has 5-6 good songs 1-2 bad songs and 10 songs that will battle for 4 spots in the final so it is most likely to be a battle there I hope I made what I mean clear despite my bad english (sorry)

Personally I always find semi final 2 to be the more interesting one in terms of songs. Semi 1 just always seems to blend together for me. While I wouldn't call this semi 2 strong, I think words like strong and weak aren't the best words to describe them and they're very simple and black and white so to speak.

Statistically countries that have went after Sweden have the lowest qualification percentage. Since 2010 only twice has a country qualified from their semi if they're performing after Sweden. I can see Czech Republic being a surprise non-qualifier.

My 10 qualifiers before the liveshow: Finland, San Marino, Australia, Ireland, North Macedonia, Estonia, Romania, Poland, Sweden and Czech Republic. My top 5 in semifinal 2: 1. Sweden, 2. Finland, 3. Estonia, 4. Poland and 5. North Macedonia

Actually, Poland has NEVER been in the top 10 with the jury at Eurovision since the juries began voting in the semi finals in 2010. Poland's qualifications in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 were all due to the televote being high enough to get them in...

It's a matter of personal preference. For me I prefer the songs in SF 1. But what makes SF2 interesting is that it's unclear who will rise and make it out, so it's more "competitive" in that sense.

I think being just before the break might help Malta and Estonia. Finland being first is not a good sign, usually the very first acts are quickly forgotten in my experience. I do think Serbia will qualify, she's a legend and the diehard fans of Eurovision will most definitely vote for her.

Last year Lithuania and San Marino qualified whilst opening their semifinals, Cyprus did in 2019, Norway in 2018, Sweden in 2017, Latvia in 2016... There's enough examples of why going first in a semifinal is not a penalty.

i have been concerned about this trilogy of Azerbaijan-Australia-Poland. I am not sure if all of them are going to make it since they sound quite similar. Personally I like Azerbaijan the least and Poland the best, but who knows who will be the victim in the end. Azerbaijan and Poland have their diaspora to rely on while Australia doesn't. We will see I guess? However, my personal qualifiers are: *Finland, Georgia (yes it grew a lot on me), Australia, Cyprus, Ireland, Estonia, Poland, Belgium, Sweden and Czech Republic

Both Poland and Australia could be a top 3/4 for this semi Behind Sweden and Finland. (Personally think Finland is worse then both those songs but the public seems to really like it)

My top 5: 1. Azerbaijan 2. Australia 3. Serbia 4. North Macedonia 5. Estonia

My prediction for qualifiers : Sweden , Finland, Cyprus, Poland, Estonia - all certain qualifiers for me. Then either Belgium OR Czech Republic - I can't see both of them qualifying since they are both in the same section. However, stranger things have happened. Australia and San Marino may qualify as well, but they are borderline at best IMHO. Azerbaijan I'm also not certain of, altho it's a pretty good track. Then last we have Israel OR Serbia. Israel for me seems the more logical pick here, it's upbeat, fun and ethnic which always works well for Israel. HOWEVER, they are coming after Finland which completely overwhelms in terms of energy. Serbia seems more an aqcuiered taste IMHO, it's good but the fact it is in Serbian doesn't really make it more accessible to most viewers, and then the theme of the song is not immediately obvious either. Everyone seems to think it will slay but remember that it hardly has ANY helpful neighbours in this semi, apart from Montenegro. As much as I do think it's a good song, it doesn't really reach out to me and given that you have ONE chance in the semi, folks at home and judges will have to decide whether they will vote for it. Coming after Israel also may not help it, yet again, since Serbia has a more subdued track, it may be beneficiary. IMHO, Semi 2 is les obvious to call most qualifiers, whereas in semi 1 this is much easier.

Serbian is a Slavic language. Poland, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia are Slavic countries. In the OGAE poll Serbia scores points from Slavic countries - Northern Macedonia give 12 points or Slovenia give 10 points. Obviously this isn't representative, but it is still worth considering. In a poll of Polish fans Serbia is 6/40, semifinal 4/17 and 3/25 Final (without Poland). I will be surprised if my country doesn't give points to Serbia. Bti zdrava.

Australia is qualifying. People are severely underestimating its potential. It will likely win the Jury Vote for the semi and I have no doubt itll perform well enough with the televote to finish 3rd or 4th for the semi. His vocals are literally unmatched by anyone in this semi and the jury will lap up the meaningful lyrics and staging. Sweden, Poland, Australia, Finland and Cyprus are the only guaranteed qualifiers I see from this semi. Then there is a batch of about 8 songs that stand great chances of making it through. The only ones I see not making it is, Israel, Romania and likely Belgium

You really got nothing to say about Georgia? C'mon... Maybe you don't like it but you could be a bit more objective about it

Sweden can still get a great spot in the final because Elena from cyprus 2018 closed the semi final and performed 25th in the grand final!

Serbia qualified from 3rd in 2018 with a much worse song so I'm not worried about Konstrakta, the ones in trouble this year are FInland, Israel, Georgia, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Malta, San Marino, Romania and Belgium(for sure NQ), and borderline I'd say Montenegro, N. Macedonia and Czechia, the other 8 I'd bet would make the final.

Australia will slay. Mark my words

I am worried for Ireland I want Brooke to go through but the number 10 slot is a concern for me I don't know what you guys think?
