The Best of Graham Norton: Eurovision 2024
The United Kingdom may not have done well in the votes this year but we have one of the best commentators in Graham Norton. His one-liners, jokes and side remarks and easily one of favourite reasons for watching the broadcast.
Hope you enjoy!!

One of the better contests top to bottom - hilarious hosting, good performances on almost all finalists, relatively worthy winner. Yeah Israel's participation and Netherlands' DQ sucks, but everything else was perfectly fine. Jury was also completely fine, balancing out televotes' political votes.

All of the broadcasters were placed under much heavier rules, this year. Graham is Irish and so, I'm quite sure he had a lot he wanted to say but he couldn't.
@tylersmith3533

Honestly, with the heavier rules, I find the jabs he does manage to make all the funnier. Some of my absolute favourite comments of his in recent years have been the ones that weren't even close to the line of rule breaking. He made a comment before Subwoolfer performed a couple of years back that was something like "These people have decided to perform anonymously by wearing masks - something many other contestants wish they'd thought of", which was brilliant.
the german commentator made that blue man group reference too lol

He mentioned how they're back in the final after several years, warned younger kids that the performance might be a bit frightening, said it's like they've already won getting into the final. He called them the pride of Macroom and said he doesn't think they got the outfit in Cremons (?) on main street. He called them a great performer and said Ireland had done a good job on production and was tipped to do well. Then after the performance he said 'ooh, was it something they ate?' 😂

I understand why Graham held himself a lot back this year compared to others (and I can't blame him, I was both excited, angry and crying upset for the Final after what happened to Joost and you know the rest ._.)...😢 But I wonder how would have been if he dared to roast THAT DELEGATION's entry (a fair game since their broadcaster literally insulted Olly and others, not as a joke, just direct and horrid insults, and of course EBU did NOTHING) or Österdahl himself (on behalf of the ROTW who voted for who really deserved to win (🇭🇷🇮🇪🇬🇷🇨🇭) and save Eurovision, F*CK HIM)😂

He said you might have seen on the news about pro-Palestinian protests in Malmo, people angry at the EBU's decision to include Israel this year. He said interestingly though, Israel are in the final because of the viewer vote. Then when she finished he said that was a mixed reaction from the audience, and there were boos in the rehearsals but quite a lot of cheers as well. Also during the vote, when the Israel jury points were announced the crowd booed again (as the announcer woman was saying hello I mean) and Graham commented that they were making their feelings known

Not enough sass this year from Graham in my opinion. Given that 6 countries were pulling out less than 25 mins before the final and one was disqualified on the day of the final and one was participating whilst simultaneously committing genocide, the preparation probably wasn't great.
