I think Estonia is closing because the Song leaves people with a feeling of positivity. it's an upbeat number with a rousing chorus and he delivers it with a fantastically endearing stage presence. It's not necessarily a Big party number, but it gives off a good, positive vibe, which is a really nice way of closing the show imo. Serbia's song is Fantastic but energy-wise its a bit too subdued and deadpan to be a Closing Number. And also because the best closers are all in the first half and Someone had to go last. haha.

About stand outs - Moldova is definitely standing out the most to me, pilled up between ballads and second half mostly full of ballads. We will see on Saturday. May the best win!

Serbia has such a good position. She would pop out in any section, because this is the only different kind of art that Eurovision has not seen, but especially between these look a like ballads. She could win! I think top 3 for sure

Also, I don't know what it will mean in terms of winning votes but from a show point of view, the Sweden - Australia - UK combo is a fantastic choice because the momentum builds up and up with each act which should allow the excitement to grow with each performance and then help them be remembered for the recap. imo. And then Poland's thunderstorm is like the beat drop moment where everything goes crazy (in theory, I find the effects a bit distracting personally). And then Konstrakta brings everyone's focus back in with intrigue and mysteriousness and then we end the show on a fun sing-along. TO THE VOTING STATIONS!

I really do hope so. Don't like Spain that much. 13 in a dozen to me. After it you see S10, really stylish, simple, great voice and song, real emotion. Hopefully it touches people. So finger crossed it does'n get overshadowed.

@@larslg444 The most likely outcome is a Ukraine victory but if that doesn't happen there's going to be a close race between the top contenders. The votes this year seem to be going more towards ballads than anything else.

One of the things that I picked up on was that Belgium and Azerbaijan are next to each other in the running order, which is sort of giving me Efentix vibes because of the bromance that seems to have developed between them 😂 All in all I really like this running order actually! There are some really REALLY strong sections in there

I expect Serbia to do extremely well, check in wikipedia the semifinal draw pots pot1-pot6 that ebu uses and draws 3 from each pot to each semi, Serbia is the only one from pot1 to qualify and will get a lot of help from pot4 in which only Greece and Portugal passed I can see Serbia getting more than 100 points from the televote and 100 from the juries just from these 10 countries...

Estonia could be dark horse with Serbia. Moldova has very good chances to slay in televotes! could top5 in televoting.

Moldova is a real underdog when you look at the running list. It is the last "Dance song" where everyone stands up and clap along singing " hey oh let's go". And after him you have slow but still beautiful ballads and the succession of ballads might be a bad thing for any of them especially the UK and Australia. I think Estonia will finish higher than expected because it is an upbeat song whereas all of the favourites before them are very slow. So look out for Moldova and Estonia

Ukraine vs Serbia...the age old battle. In 2004 Ruslana won and in 2007 Maria won.

I don't think Poland UK and Australia order is as brutal as people think it is. The UK has a very different feel to it. Very upbeat and carefree compared to the (tbh) melodramatic and downbeat performances of Poland and Australia.

I think the producers missed an opportunity not putting Moldova as the closer but Estonia is good too.

The uk actually has a decent spot I’m honestly so surprised

I think that all the male voices grouped in the end will definitely help the best one to stand out. Serbia and Lithuania have very peculiar, interesting songs. I am very into Moldova. The only song that makes me genuinely happy from the whole bunch. Spain, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Finland, Poland, the UK will do really well this year. Ukraine may win.

I think there is 4 countries who stand out. First Spain as nr 10before and after two ballads. Then Ukraine who are huge favourites and end the first half. Then Sweden because they sing after Moldova which is completely different. And after her 3 powerful vocal men, So I think Sweden will have a good chance and then after these 3 vocal men Serbia will pop up like never before and I can see it will be very tight final and it will change alot between jury votes compares to televotes! And I also think we will se some surprises. But whatever happens it will be a great final who will be in the history books as one of the tightest final ever! And last but not least..... All the love to every country for this year's eurovision! Then I mean ALL who even didn't qualify to the final. We need positive vibes and love! So all the love all of you out there! Everyone is sleeping on the UK televote potential. I’ve seen estimates of 80-100 points versus 250-300 in the jury. I think Sam could get over 150 in the televote. Puts him right in the mix if he wins the jury …

I don't think you guys remember how much the UK song will stand out against everyone else. Don't get me wrong, Australia and Poland are the best vocalists in this year, but the performance, the whole package... man... Sam Ryder is going to stand out still! It definitely would be even better for the UK if it were some quieter act but to be honest, put him next to ANYONE and Sam Ryder will perform his heart out. Fingers crossed for our boy, we're very proud of what he's achieved

Idk about big voice off Australia is intense, heart tugging and dramatic. The UK is more whimsical and a bit more bitter sweet and feels higher in register and mildly uplifting. I think they compliment each other nicely. Then you have spiritual operatic Poland after that which is also different.

I'm suprised to see Portugal so early in the running order, it might not have done as well as I expected

The UK will stand out among Australia and Poland because of the staging and performance

Reading through all these comments I feel that Australia is being missed and underestimated. It's no secret that Australia struggles to get televotes because of the controversy of Australia being in the Eurovision in the first place and that's just 1 thing. But Jury voting is another, and Going first before UK and Poland gives Australia the first chance at impact with a massive dramatic power ballad, leaving UK and Poland with the second and third chance impressions with a lessor vocal height and drama which in my opinion won't hit the same level as Sheldon leaving them in the shadows of Australia's entry and denying them a moment. I think Australia is going to go very close to winning the Jury Vote if they don't win it. The song has drama, intelligent lyrics, peaks, valleys, story line, and a massive vocal talent to back it. It's arguably the best ballad lyrics wise and arguably the best voice in the entire competition too.

I find it interesting that Australia, the UK and Poland all appear in succession, all 3 of the strongest vocalists. Iceland and the Netherlands have awful spots though

I disagree that UK will suffer because of placing. I think the tone of the song/performance is so different to Poland and Australia - it will stand out and his vocal ability will be the icing on the cake! Top 10 if not top 10 finish - Brits will feel like they've won!

I think you are right about Australia, UK and Poland, either of them won't really benefit from performing in a row, i don't know why they didn't throw something more upbeat between those acts. But all are very strong songs so they'll be at least in top 10/top 5. But it's really nice they got Stefan to close actually - leaves a very warm and positive vibe in the end 🙂

Ummm...I'm not sure what to think about thus. 1st half is high energy heavy, so the slower ballads will stand out there (being after France will not allow the Subwoolfer a chance to eat the grandmas...Keith had a reason to "say no" to the 1st half draw). In comparison, the 2nd half is ballad heavy, so something like Moldova's Zdob şi Zdub will stand out. While I understand while Czech Republic in general is a good idea to open or close a half, I do not like them at the start of the Grand Final. Why? They were the last song you heard at the 2nd Semi-Final...literally the last non-entrance song you heard in this competition. Also find it very, VERY strange that Norway is right before Armenia again (like you already mentioned).

The final is going to be a slaughter, especially in the favourites groups in each half. Anything can happen

Czech Republic was chosen to open the final after closing SF2. The tradition is back. And at first I was happy with Estonia closing but then I realised that San Marino also closed in 2021 and then received 13 televoting points. And coming after 4 top 10 contenders means Estonia is screwed and probably didn't do that well in the semifinal. But hey, my country at 17th is being favoured. Lordi, Marija & Loreen all won from that spot. I'm looking forward to our result.

@Maria yeah but had Greece been drawn in the 1st half and Netherlands 2nd then Greece would probably be in the same position...the 1st half is packed so there is not really a perfect place to put the Netherlands in. How do you know what the juries voted? I mean it could well be Greece was above Netherlands in the Jury vote but it would also be possible that it was vice versa...

UK is in contention to win the entire thing. Ukraine is going to really struggle given the running order from 7 - 12 there is so many stacked entries: Norway: Potential Televote winner. Jury will give this a hard time Armenia: Even Jury/Televote split. Italy: Same as Armenia. Spain: Televote heavy, Jury blocking of sensual entries this year, Jurors will may give Spain a hard time. Netherlands: Jury heavy, but could receive equal support on Televote too. Ukraine: Potential Televote winner, Jurors will most likely not respond in big enough numbers in order to win. The from song 13 till the end of the run-through it is a bit of a snooze fest but there are some standouts: Greece: Top 10 finisher, maybe a equal split on voting like Armenia. Moldova: A surprise to many but a high Televoting score is likely, Top 13 is likely, maybe a Top 10. Sweden: A contender to win, potential Jury winner, wondering how the televote will pan out. United Kingdom: A major contender to win, a likely Jury winner, Televote Top 3 is likely. Poland: Top 5, Jury favourite, Polish diaspora may help in Televote but, is not a given. My consensus on the final is: The UK & Sweden are the 2 main contenders to win, Ukraine is really going to struggle with Jurors, especially given how stacked the entries are before Ukraine as I mentioned above. The Australia-UK-Poland Battle Royale is really only going to hurt Australia and maybe Poland given the staging for Ochman is really jarring and far too bright, like with many entries this year.

You are wrong about Spain. The jurors loved it. I know from an insider it ranked in the top 5 from the jury votes. It is sensual, but not just sleazy. The jury loved the fact Chanel sounded pretty good despite the intense choreography, which received a lot of points too. The whole package looks professionally well put together and if the televoting indeed comes strong, Spain will definitely take the win this year.

Usually they are not having a big favorite to close the show delegations are going to complain, I also see that they keep one favourite to win close to the ad break so people will stick around and then there is a strong section of songs I remember last year having Lithuania Bulgaria Finland France and Ukraine one after another couple songs and then Italy...

Italy closed in 2015 and ruined the televote. So yes, that would be unfair.

I fully support Ukraine and I like the song but I mean it’s not a winning song , we have amazing acts that really deserve to win like Spain , UK , Sweden , Italy and etc . Giving a trophy to Ukraine doesn’t mean the war is gonna stop . Just please vote for the song , not for the country. Lets support Ukraine but don’t let this competition become a political stage .

It's still one of the best songs of the year whatever the context. In terms of lyrics or musically. Personally it's in the top three alongside Italy and Sweden. We have to remember it's a song contest not a singing contest, nor a staging or dancing contest. Actually that's why Slovenia should be in the final....If you add Jury and public votes I'm pretty sure Ukraine will prevail. That's why my brain says. But apart from the top three mentioned above I'll be happy with UK, Spain or Poland winning of course. And beware of Serbia, It doesn't do anything for me but I reckon it will do pretty well not mentioning The Netherlands or Greece but there's only one spot for the win and I really do think Ukraine is gonna get it and you can't blame it on politics. Anyway, good luck to all the contestants and greetings from France...

I'm so surprised William that you think this year is open, it's pretty much a dine deal for Ukraine (which I don't mind as its my top 3, but understand it wouldn't be good for the reputation of the contest) Mark my words if Ukraine is get top 3 placement in the first 10 juries, then its won and there's no stress
