Just because a song is at the beginning of the first part of the second half doesn't mean it's a bad position. Simply being in the second half is a good position though some songs overshadow others if they are right before them.

🤔My thoughts again... 1🇫🇮: They are pros and they have a big name in music industry. Sonicly I would prefer it in the middle of the show, but I can see why they are opening. A lot of people will want to tune in and watch their performance... 2🇮🇱: Same pattern as semi 1 here. 2 intenese songs of totally diefferent genre right at the beginning. I sense his performance will be fierce, so don't count him out yet... 3🇷🇸: Viewers are allready invested and ready for some puzzling. This stands out and can not be overshadowed from the previous ones. I hope the audience gets it cause I want her so badly in the final!!! 4🇦🇿: Squizzed between the two most quirky entries of this year's contest can actually benefit it. Greatest concern is that it's the first of the lyric male ballads on the setlist and may be overshadowed by 🇦🇺 or 🇵🇱 5🇬🇪: Wildcard it is! It's all up to their staging. Great sonic contrast with the previous one... 6🇲🇹: After a streak of intriguing entries we go to the cheesy sweedish-born eurovision track. This might feel generic. 7🇸🇲: I think this will be after the break, so he has the chance to make an impact. He must nail the live performance though... 8🇦🇺: Wonderful spot! Imo it's the strongest of the male ballads and this will definately be a moment!!! 9🇨🇾: Being the only ethno-bop is an advantage. Not completely. Twan van Nieuwenhuizen, head of contest from last years show, was asked by RAI to do this years also. He had a big say in the running order and said in an interview that the UK is one to watch regarding staging

Semi final 2 has a lot of ballads so the bops will stand out.

Semi final 2 is 10000% the toughest of the two. I think running order shows how the organisers think of the songs and how confident they are on their qualification status. The opener and closer are usually a 'loud' upbeat song that will open and close with a bang. It's also a double edge sword cause these songs underperform.

My qualifier prediction: Jury Top 10: Australia Sweden Poland Azerbaijan Malta Estonia Montenegro Czech Republic Belgium Finland Televote Top 10: Sweden Serbia Czech Republic Estonia Finland Poland Cyprus San Marino Romania Australia Qualifiers in random order: Finland, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Australia, Cyprus, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Czech Republic The songs with high jury or televote ratings will likely qualify Romania and San Marino will be shocking non-qualifiers

Estonia is a sure qualifier, cannot see it missing the final. At this point, it is a darkhorse for a top 10 in the final.

My thoughts on the second semi-final are as follows. First, it's obviously stronger than number one hence the title "Semi-Final Of Death" because there'll be a blood bath in terms of who qualifies for the grand final and who doesn't which means a good song that should go through won't unfortunately. Opening wise Israel should've been the first song out instead of Finland I think because the song's more suitable to open than Finland which could become forgettable with viewers in that position who mightn't vote for them later. I'm glad the 3 main ballads from Azerbajain, Australia, and Poland are spaced out giving them more chances of getting through than if they were clubbed together. I just hope 4th placement for Azerbajain doesn't hurt it in terms of going forward if some people think that the weakest of the three and don't vote for it actually. Ireland shouldn't have been put on first opening the second half but another country initially as that could hurt Brooke's chance of qualifying unless she has great staging. The Czech Republic closing here's a good choice over Armenia in the first semi-final which should've been Austria or Norway instead I think. Australia will probably win the jury vote but Sweden the show overall due to televoters. My predictions for qualifiers in alphabetical order are. Australia Azerbaijan Belgium Cyprus Czech Republic Estonia Finland Poland Serbia And Sweden. Although Romania could be a dark horse and take Belgium's place over them maybe.

My list: 1. Serbia 2. Czech Republic 3. Cyprus 4. Georgia 5. Belgium 6. Ireland 7. Montenegro 8. Finland 9. Estonia 10. Australia What I think will actually happen: Definite qualifiers: Sweden, Poland, Estonia, Czech Republic Maybe: Romania, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Finland, Australia, Cyprus, Malta Most likely NQ: Ireland, North Macedonia, San Marino DOA: Serbia, Israel, Georgia, Montenegro

I don't think Serbia is DOA and I'm really not sure about Georgia it might be ok as the quirky song that loonies like me will gravitate towards. I think I'd be very surprised if Australia doesn't qualify as I think a lot of people really love that song and it's very meaningful. I think Finland is very likely qualifier too. I have the same top ten except for Ireland. Ok I think your Def's are right. Maybe - San Marino - it's distinctive but I think people will either love or hate it and it depends where it falls. Romania, Belgium. Cyprus - like with Sweden it's nice they broke their own mould and it's a nice song but is it distinctive enough? I hope so. Azerbaijan - it's not a stand out but the Azeris have a large dispora vote and a lot of support but they have NQed before. Georgia - like San Marino people will either hate or love this but like SM at least it's memorable. Serbia - it's a well supported country (it should get votes from North Macedonia if nowhere else) and a memorable entry but will it be seen as too gimicy and also will the hand washing be explained properly and put in context. Also Serbia aren't Ukraine they aren't immune from NQing. I hope they do Q as I think innovation and actually saying something should be rewarded. Konstructra has my vote. Likely NQ - Israel - like SM or Georgia it's divisive but I'm feeling it's a no, Malta - it's no Chameleon or Je me Casse, Malta struggles for televotes at the best of times and Italians who will recognise Emma are voting in semi 1. Ireland - it's not a bad song but I don't know where its support is going to come from apart from the UK and I don't think it'll be enough,

Scared for Romania and Montenegro. Because, Poland & Estonia are 100% qualifiers. And I also think the last 3 (Belgium, Sweden, Czech Republic) will qualify. And in the first half Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Australia and now Finland are definite qualifiers to me. And that leaves one spot open. BUT, if Ireland's staging is really good, nd she sings well, and Cyprus doesn't get staging/vocals right, Ireland might overtake Cyprus

Maybe the organisers are expecting Brooke to show up with a maps type staging and have slotted it in after the ad break???? 😄

I just laughed when Jude said that juries are going to put Poland 1st or 2nd. Ha haha ha, Poland has never been in top 10 for juries in the semi ever, ha ha ha... (This actually really saddens me a lot as a Pole).

Predicted jury winner will be either Australia (my favourite) or Sweden, and televote? who knows, always a surprise.

I'm not too impressed that Ireland were given the earliest position they could've gotten, ik we'll need to have effective staging and great vocals regardless but just judging from the running order and not knowing what the staging is, it certainly seems like we got the short straw. It certainly doesn't help being that early. In terms of things I think could happen, i'm not expecting the 3 male ballads to all qualify seeing as generally, having songs with similar styles or even similar staging concepts like we seen in 2019 with all of the galaxy stagings and the pink and blues last year, I see 2 qualifying. I think Australia is going to qualify on jury vote alone. I don't think the public are going to connect with it in the same way (kind of like Australia 2017 and Sweden 2018). For the other two, it'll depend on the stagings I think. Poland is a bit more commercial so perhaps it could get some jury points for that and the vocals ofc, staging is a big worry for them though. I see Azerbaijan getting staging right so Poland need to be on their game with staging to do well. With Finland, they may get some televote points with being known to people previously and for having a rock entry which is different to all of the entries in semi 2, I really don't see jurors getting behind this though if the vocals do not improve from the nf. Depending on the vocal performance (coz tbh I don't even see this being top of the televote, I could eat my words on that but it doesn't strike my songwise as a song people would feel passionate to vote for a few times) I think Finland might struggle a bit. Tbh, whilst i'm not a fan of Israel's entry, I feel like they can qualify, if the staging is the same quality as we've seen in the mv and his vocals are as good as they were in the nf. I don't see how jurors could really hurt it if they get these things right other than if it's not their personal preference. Serbia is certainly not my cup of tea but their fate really decides on the televote. I suspect they'll qualify on the televote as its certainly a song that grabs your attention. I will say though, there is a chance that people will be weirded out and just not vote it. The thing about Malta is that their televote results have been pretty dire the last few years with the exception of Destiny (keep in mind, she was a favourite and in the final, didn't get that high of a televote score). In 2016 and 2019 (the years they qualified, they were 9th and 10th in the televote. In 2017 and 2018 (the years they didn't qualify) they came last both times, in 2018 they were 5th with the jury. Idk why but televoters just don't seem to respond to Malta. I don't think Malta's song is particularly great personally this year so unless she does brilliant staging, I'm expecting to see it remain in the semi. From a song perspective, i'm a bit confused as to why producers would have Cyprus and Ireland beside each other. There aren't many female bops in the semi and they put the two solo female bops next to each other. Seems strange and yeah, I think Ireland were kinda screwed over by the running order. Hoping the staging will be really good. Overall, I do think this semi is tougher to predict than semi 1. We will be seeing good songs go home, it just depends on who brings it with the staging.

I just ate a pizza, Latvia will be mad that is not a salad. But I don't care. :)

Malta might be a contender for top 3 with juries behind Sweden and Poland what i think, and as for televoters might not be impossible to avoid bottom 3 of televote when you got more entries with lesser televote appeal like Belgium, Azerbaijan, and one of San Marino or Georgia (although Georgia i find very catchy and less of a mess than San Marino)

Problem for Ireland: "That's Rich" is too English an expression, I kind of get it but it doesn't speak to me and most Europeans hearing it for the first time go "what's rich?". Also, we still remember Toy and Je Me Casse. I actually preferred Ireland's last year song, but I still don't understand what they where hoping for with that staging. Wait, I just had another listen, wow, the guy jumped the bullet (he could be a terrible person, but I'm not necessarily getting it from the song). I wonder how a similar breakup song to a girl would sound like.

I do not understand what people see in the Swedish song - I find it dull , boring and I am not even surprised by the voice of the singer. I agree that Poland iss very good (for me the best in this semifinal) and I also like Czech Republic and Belgium.
