It's absurd that Spain ended down there. It was native language, it was latino in accordance with the traditions of the country (sorry, Switzerland), it was catchy - the song had it all, it was even the last song to be performed, and yet ... tragic.

Who cares about the Jury's votes... They are mostly disconnected from reality, and not to mention corrupted sometimes, and they need to be stopped already! The people's televotes is the only thing that matters in Eurovision!

We nearly had a heart attack (old fans), but yes, it's definitely noticeable even for new viewers, who mostly are just mesmorized by the performance seeing it for the first time, so I was waiting till the end of this video hoping they'll mention that.

Katerina sung very well and she did not deserve that. The song was very difficult too. Besides this, if you did not like her in the final, in the jury vote show was excellent and everyone said the same. She came 2 to the jury's first semi final and 5th best score within the two semifinals (for the juries talking). But...in the final she was only 16... 😒

the EBU better checks all results next time three or four times... I don't care if the show therefore airs for 24 hours straight... Next time I just want a legit results

On the jury show, Norway’s entry suffered severe technical issues. The screen went in black, 3 times during the performance. As the only entry to experience this. The Norwegian Broadcasting, immediately protested, and requested that Keiino, should be allowed to sing once more, at the end. This was rejected “The performance wasn’t ruined enough!”. - A total disgrace. - Further, due to a so-called technical issue, with Belarus voting in the semi, all their votes in the finale were rejected. Norway lost further 7 votes. Then they copied the voting of a neighboring country. Coincidentally this country gave Norway zero, but Sweden 2. Just enough for Sweden and Norway to change final placing. Norway won by a landslide by the televote.

Kate Miller-Heidke said it was bittersweet to see herself going through while Conan and the Tulias were out. And there are some videos of Katherine Duska and Bilal Hassani really pissed with Portugal not going through. The irony is that they were so pissed that Conan himself was commiserating them. lol

Is Eurovision becoming too 'mainstream'? This could explain why Portugal didn't make the finals? And when I mean 'mainstream', I mean 'radio friendly'.

Spain being last by the jury is the top 1 crime!!! That was absolutely unfair, it was one of the best perfomances of the night.

My top 10 crimes of ESC 2019 in random order: - Non-English songs that stays in SF1 were underappreciated (Especially Poland and Portugal, but also Georgia & Hungary), and predictable songs like Belarus & Estonia go through instead 😢 - With the exception of Italy & Iceland, non-English songs that were in the final marked down by a big margin (especially Albania, Serbia & Spain) - Too many opening & interval acts that kinda put the focus away from the competing artists. And don't even start with Madonna's performance. - Of course, the whole MARUV and UA:PBC/Ukrainian government drama, resulting in Ukraine's withdrawal - Televoting crimes in the final: Czech Republic, Greece, Malta - Jury voting crimes in the final: Spain, NORWAY (televote winner), Sweden (again overrated by juries) - Possible inverted voting by the Czech (SF1) and Swedish (SF2) juries, resulting in Poland and Lithuania to NQ - Fatal mistake at the Belarusian AGGREGATED jury votes in the final, that made: > North Macedonia the jury vote winner, but wasn't so in the live show > Israel celebrating false 12 points from Belarus in the live show > Norway out of the top 5, replaced by Sweden - The new televote distribution method. I think the 2016-2018 method was already spot on. This was just cruel to the televote winner.

My biggest scandal is that the Big 5 don’t perform the entirety of their song in the semi finals. This gives their songs less exposure to the public/time to build familiarity ahead of the grand final. If you like statistically at when the UK for example started to do consistently worse in the competition it was after the introduction of the televised semi final stage.....

2021 from the future called with its Big 5 winner and runner up to call bs on that one. If you have lightning in a bottle then you're going storm it and also I'm here because I was gripped by those acts and many others on the night then. I think in your EV fan bubble you can lose sight of the fact that a lot of the audience does just tune in for the finals and doesn't pay attention to a whole lot else.

I think Israel 🇮🇱 was last in the jury votes. Because they only got 12 point from Belarus 🇧🇾 but that was a mistake so they got 0 points and Spain 🇪🇸 1

RNS malta went first and her moves were stiff so i kind of get it . Cyprus and greece were sandwiched with the netherlands so kinda obvious. France deserved way more but compared to other acts his vocals weren’t that good. I love Czech Republic but i didn’t expect them to qualify to begin with. I have to say as a Norwegian it was extremly sad that they did not get to perform in front of the Jurys again after the cameramen fed up. They appelaed to EBU to get to perform again but it was rejected.

Poland not qualifying was the biggest robbery for me.

They could have said that Keiino won the televote, it would actually have added to the drama. And for anyone paying attention and counting, we knew Sweden got only 93 points.

Eurovision has been a political contest in my opinion.... Underrated in semi finals: Poland Hungary Portugal Armenia Austria and Romania Underrated in final: Cyprus Malta Slovenia Greece and Spain deserved much more. Especially Greece and Spain!

The new way the televotes were presented this year was a bad idea. It didn't add anything to the show in my opinion in terms of drama and excitement and it robbed acts that did well in the televote such as Keiino and Serhat of their moment of glory. The EBU should bring back the 2016-2018 system.

When that system was used this year, it was earlier known that The Netherlands had won. Russia was fouth with the televote (244 points), Italy 3rd (253 points), Netherlands 2nd (261 points) and Norway 1st (291 points). So, at the second that the name Italy was announced (even before announcing tha actual score), everyone would know that The Netherlands would be the winner, because they already had more points from the jury and more points from the televoting. And yes, Norway wasn't announced yet at that moment, but they needed more than 400 points and everyone knows that that was impossible.

@@meltrain most Eurovision viewers don't keep track of or pay close attention to the televote scores and how much is remaining so it wouldn't matter

@@sunoolee9467 That is true and if you did it this year (and I didn't), you 'd figured out that Sweden could only have 93 points. But that is not my point, I mean that everyone could imagine that Norway needed 400 points to win and that was just impossible.

Great criticism, I agree. Regarding Norway: The jury viewed a performance without the camera error before discarding Keiino in the semifinal, right? So they didn't like Norway no matter what.

The UK was bland. It wasn't bad - just bland. That's why it didn't do well. Not Brexit. For heaven's sake... The biggest crime, for me, is the juries punishing Iceland somewhat. They might not have liked the song in general, but technically they did their job really well. They should have awarded their artistry higher than they did. Also, Norway... Goddammit, juries! We don't even have to talk about Albania...so great! Juries should have loved this. I loved all of these songs, but apparently the juries didn't. Spain doing so bad this year really, truly surprised me. For once, I liked it. I thought Portugal would do well with the juries but being hated by the general public. Surprised me that they were disliked in general. Was apparently very divisive I always like these videos, because you mention things that I'm not always aware of, so I can't really disagree with your list. :)

Spain and France still gave 12 to Portugal tho :) I dunno the rest of the continent. I thought Israel or Icelandic televoting were going to vote for sure but nop xd And I wasn't expecting a lot from Belarus or Australia and they gave some points 😅

Being the favourite with the bookmakers normally means that you are not going to win since people like to vote for theunderdog. And I agree, Australia should have been ranked higher and Russia should have been ranked lower.

meltrain I’m okay with Russia because I love Sergey Lazarev. His song was amazing, even though his staging was meh compared to 2016. Kate definitely needed to be higher. Still don’t understand why Duncan. His song was okay but staging was lacklustre compared to Australia and even Switzerland

My top 3 crimes: 1. Ukraine withdrawing (I loved their song!!!) 2. Belgium not qualifying 😭 the song grew on me and Eliot was so good! 3. Spain coming DEAD last in the final. WTH Public! That song was amazing

The Flying Fox Doesn't seem to bother you the vote exchange between ex Yugoslavian countries, ex Ussr countries and Sweden,Norway,Finland but you do bother about Greece and Cyprus.What do you think? We are Europes slaves serving its wishes? Better get used to it because that's the way it will be.Two Greek countries supporting each other.And I didn't hear you to say about the votes that this horrible indifferent song of Monkeydonia took from all the juries for politics (not Macedonia for long though don't be happy)

I am from Taiwan, and I love Eurovision. Another crime that many have missed is when they were doing the recap, all the delegations were shown celebrating except Spain. They just showed the flag on a chair. I don’t know if that would have made a difference, but Miki missed another moment. I’ve memorized the song even if I don’t know Spanish. Just love the melody.
