Turkey 2010 is still my favourite Eurovision entry of all time, I hope Turkey return someday

My favorite runner up would be "Soldi", also loving the Common Linnets, Dami In and Manga. And I am still listening to "Fuego" from time to time.

In my opinion the best runner up in the last decade is Turkey 2010 "we could be the same". It was very emotional because we know that they are actually talking from the Turkish citizens and try to live peacefully as citizens even though the government was very militaristic and had a lot of problems. I really believe that even as a patriotic Israeli and a jew. Even though Israel and Turkey are not in a good relationships, Maybe, we CAN be the same.

TheDRMISTERY 1944 is possibly one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard, and Jamala is not a great singer. You can’t even compare the vocals between the two of them.

@@jameswalker68 You're, like, objectively wrong about saying Jamala isn't a great singer. She did well on the jury vote for a reason. 1944 being a 'bad song' is subjective, but I totally disagree. Sound of Silence is honestly a pretty bland song - Dami's stunning vocals are the only thing that pulls it up.

@K S Well, likewise I would have to say you are objectively wrong that Sound of Silence is a bland song - and it won the jury vote for a reason. All good though, each to their own!

That is some stiff competition, but if I had to choose, my favourite runners-up would have to be (in no particular order): A Million Voices, Soldi, Fuego and We Could Be the Same. :)

Russia missed the victory in 2015 and 2016 by Putin's politics. So it's Putin's fault.

My favorite second places are from 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, but there's no doubt that Eleni was on fire and undeniably the best runner-up of the decade!!!

Raphael Gualazzi is actually one of my guilty pleasures, I just love jazz sooo much, easily in my top 3 runners up this decade. At 2nd I would have The Common Linnets, such a touching song, and of course my favourite is Queen Dami, her performance and her stunning vocals gave me goosebumps in 2016.

Nope lol Cyprus had a weak song but worked her ass off on the stage and Lena had a more mainstream song that worked I guess (rock has a harder time to work sometimes on people, though I loved their song of course). Seriously, 100% of people saying Cyprus should have won in 2018 are saying it ONLY for the performance. XD

Oliver7 Maunoury then you have misunderstood completely what eurovision is about its about the total package delivered in 3 minutes on live television, if you think the song is week ok, but she delivered the most professional preformance that night and based on that shoud have won. She should have been over Neta - toy but the public and jury did not agree on that so she ended 2. Place. A really good place as well. Coming top 3 is really hard and she deserved at least the place she got.

Dami Im - the 1st impression of hearing her singing live in 2nd semifinal got me. It didn't happen for any other Eurovision performers I heard in the last decade. That year I didn't want to listen to any other songs except our own entry before the contest and that was the best thing I did, because I could be biased based on its studio version.
