When Brock has pass attempts that are top 10, then put him in Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady convo. It’s a run first offense with OPY in his backfield and he’s damn near lowest in attempts in league. His team carries him, not other way around

What next step does he need to take, he was pretty much NUMBER 1 in all categories in the league. He was playing MVP ball.

The quarterback only plays on offense, they have nothing to do with how many points the other team scores outside of limited control over the game clock which doesn’t apply under overtime rules. Purdy reminds me a little of a young Brett Favre. Athletic, super confident gunslinger that makes crazy plays that can either pay off or go God awful, but he has that kind of ability. Julian, the more I watch the kid and go over his game film, the more I like about the guy. I think he's special bro. I think a lot of the media is missing the boat on this kid & will look back 5 years from now with regret that they didn't see what he did coming

Have no idea why people ride Burrows like he’s special but disrespect Purdy as a nobody… Burrow hasn’t won anything with a stacked roster around him… Allen hasn’t won anything with a stacked roster around him. Herbert hasn’t won anything with a stacked roster around him. Lawrence hasn’t won anything with a stacked roster around him. Hurts, Prescott, Cousins, Goff, Tua, all had stacked rosters and won absolutely nothing. The only QB I’m taking over Purdy is Mahomes and that wasn’t until this past season when he did it with limited skill sets at WR and the run game was average and Mahomes still won. Other than that, I take Purdy because Purdy although his physical skill set is limited by the coaching more than by the player, Purdy’s ability to read a defense and process the offense’s capabilities within that defensive scheme that he reads is elite. That cannot be questioned. Its elite. You put Purdy on the Bills, winning. You put Purdy on the Chiefs, winning. You put Purdy on the Packers, Rams, Lions, Ravens, etc… Winning. Remember, Burrow wasn’t anything without Chase. Allen was a scrub without Diggs. Hurts was beyond average without Brown and Smith. Lay off the Purdy hate. The kid is nice. Just respect it and enjoy the show.

Ya you’re spot on. His attributes may be different but still on an elite level. If you had to compare play styles he would have more in common with a Joe Montana and Tom Brady then say a Lamar Jackson or Cam newton. No one says Joe Montana wasn’t elite because he can’t run like Cam newton. Same with Purdy, he is a great accurate passer that can read the field better than most.

A top 10 QB on this team would have won the Super Bowl last year. A top 10 QB with this roster would have more than 3 TDs in 3 playoff games last year. Finally, someone who gets Brock Purdy. I have been saying that Purdy was our franchise QB since the day he took over the reigns and I have many family members and their friends that will tell you the same. I knew that Purdy was going to be ready when his # was called. Just the way he handled himself and grinded when he was the #3. His study habits are unmentionable and remarkable. His process speed of a defensive make up. His decision making and pass accuracy and the NFL stats show this. I have more grey hair now because of the stress that so many so called expert analysts kept dogging him just about drove me crazy because I knew that they were not seeing what I and many others did. I can go on and on and I wont. I just want to thank you for giving Brock his due credit. Is he perfect ? Not by a long shot. Will he makie mistakes ? Absolutely. Brock learns from his mishaps and just like you said and Ive been saying it as well. Brock always puts the 49ers in a position to win the game. My prediction is the 49ers will return to the SB and will be victorious this coming season. Mark it.

@@JWLSportsthere are 2 kinds of QBs in the league. Franchise QBs and game managers. Franchise QBs can afford to throw a pick because they’re also gonna throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs. Game managers need to limit their mistakes because they can’t make up for them with their production. Brock Purdy is a game manager. He cannot afford to throw picks at the same rate as Mahomes because he will not make up for them with the same positive production as Mahomes. For instance in the Super Bowl, Mahomes threw a pick and Purdy didn’t. So the 49ers won that game right? Oh no they didn’t, because despite throwing a pick, Mahomes also had more passing yards, more passing TDs, and more rushing yards.

Dilfer was a game manager, focus on ball security with a low production passing game. Purdy is the trigger man in one of the most dangerous offenses in football. Neither his skillset, aggressive mentality or production level lead to a game manager label. Even the few plays shown display this fact.

Dak is a reg season guy, folds in the playoffs (like Lamar). Purdy left the field in the lead in all of the post season games he finished in the playoffs. Windows get smaller, defenses scheme more aggressively, playoff numbers are typically lower. So to be clear your criteria to not be a "game manager" is for him to blaze through playoffs after a stellar year and then play better than the best qb in the league against a better defense. What other qb do you hold to this standard? Make it make sense.

Purdy was fine in the regular season, he wasn’t the same player in the playoffs. If anyone says differently they either didn’t watch the games or they’re not being realistic about what they saw. In the regular season he had almost 2 TDs per game, in the playoffs he had 1 TD per game.

Let me see purdy when and unanimous MVP with Miles boykin and Willie Snead and Hollywood Brown as his wide receivers... And I get what you're saying but what about Jimmy garoppolo? Hit Darnell Savage between the numbers in the Packers game and his best pass against the Lions hit a defender in the helmet. Brock is an excellent QB for his age as long his couch will not chokes as he did in the super bowl.

The only thing brock purdy doesn’t have is a big arm 💯that’s literally it other than that ppl clown him for having good teammates not even for being bad or doing bad things 😂literally for having good teammates THATS it and it’s sick

First season with a real off season right? 1st season thrown in mid season, 2nd season rehab; this season he will be better? I think for the first time, he's had time to put in the work where he needs to improve

I don’t know how much room he has to improve. He’s certainly not gonna get taller or develop a stronger arm. His skill set is reading defenses and delivering the ball accurately. He needs to double down in those areas. But honestly the biggest area of improvement for Purdy would be for him to not fall off in the playoffs. Last year he averaged almost 2 TDs per game in the regular season, in the playoffs he had 1 TD per game. People call me a Purdy hater but honestly if he played in the playoffs the way he did for most of the regular season (please god not like the Ravens game), I wouldn’t be nearly as critical of him. When you’re on a Super Bowl contender, playoff performance matters more than regular season performance.

​@@erikdayne5429 only 2 teams have performed better since he took over as QB1 ... this will be the season to see what how effectively he handled a "normal" offseason. He distributes the ball extremely well, anticipates as good as anyone I have seen and most importantly so far doesn't seem to make the same mistakes.

@@918Boyzthe 49ers have the most talented roster in the league outside of the QB position so honestly that means nothing to me. They are absolutely loaded. They had 9 pro bowlers last year. They should be winning. If they had a better QB they could actually finish the job and win it all.

It's insane how no other qb in the league is considered to have weapons except brock. Esp considering he's only entering his second full season. Y'all are insanely critical in such young people. Mahomes had Andy Reid, Kelce, a great defense and very good recievers to begin his career. That is never or was never held against him

I definitely don’t think Brock Purdy gets to love that he deserves, but what they’re saying is definitely a good point and it’s one that Tim Brady showed many times. At the end of the game when you gotta put the team on your back and you’ve got to get this field or this touchdown, you make it happen and that’s not an athleticism point. That’s just a leadership point. Coming through when the game is on the line was Tom Brady‘s thing, it’s what made Tom Brady, Tom Brady. It’s what made Joe Montana, Joe Montana. So I definitely agree that’s the next step for him and that’s not saying that you have to dominate the entire game by yourself when there’s no no help but it’s saying in those close games where you might not have all the help you need you find a way to win.

Ok and Purdy has not proven to be unable to do that. In fact he has proven to be able to do that. On many occasions.

Purdy is better than Jimmy. He’s definitely a top ten QB. I won’t blame him for having good weapons because playing pro sports is hard regardless of who is around you. I also think people should stop pretending there’s so many great QBs in the modern NFL. Only Mahomes Jackson Allen and maybe Burrow should be considered elite imo. Goff Dak Purdy Hurts Stroud Love are in the next tier of really good.

They need to trust him as they trust Mahomes. He has too many weapons surrounding him that are play makers not to speak of the 3 offensive weapons that they just drafted. If they don't allow him to take lead and fully trust him then why does he deserve to secure the bag $$$ ?

Yea that one to BA in the middle was a throw that not many QBs can make nor more importantly, they will look that off.

What is RC talking about? He doesn’t have do these big things to win these big games. Small adjustments in certain moments ie: the pressure of the edge to get the critical first down. That vertical to BA would have been a very hard completion. Also, that 3rd down in OT was not on Purdy and was on the OL.

Mahommes threw 2 horrible INTs one of which was caught but, did those plays lose him the game? NO. Purdy has to clean up some mistakes and the one I referred to was an example of cleaning up, but you are suggesting him to be perfect.

I'm not worried about Purdy AT ALL - he's been Doing shit at a high level- since High school - Then college - now NFL....

The film arguement is stupid. They dont have enough fulm, in 1-1/3 seasons?

They like the story of Mr Irrelevant so they just want to see him get a new contract so they can keep the story going. Once he gets his contract and the team falls apart, I’m sure then they’ll be willing to take an honest look at how good Purdy really is.

Julian, you actually put Lamar with Mahomes and Allen as the three top QBs. WTH! Everybody knows who should’ve gotten the MVP. Lamar’s processing and decision-making is still in the 101 class. That’s why he’s running all the time. MVPURDY is the best in processing in the league. That’s right I said it. Even so it would still be tough who I would take to build a franchise? But it would have to be one of the QBs in the last Super Bowl. Mr. irrelevant takes his team to two straight championships and a Super Bowl his first two years. Would’ve been 2 had he not gotten hurt. Who the hell does that other than an MVP???

@@LoverboyB_Pookieyou’re not wrong. I have no idea how anyone could watch Purdy in the playoffs last year and then talk about how he’s an elite QB. He was missing open receivers all playoffs long. People talk about the comebacks against the Packers and Lions but a big part of the reason they needed those comebacks was Purdy wasn’t playing well earlier in those games. And then of course in the Super Bowl the defense holds the Chiefs to 19 points in regulation, and Purdy couldn’t lead a Kyle Shanahan offense with 4 pro bowlers around him to score 20 to win a championship.

Lmfao brock is great but, they have of the best rosters ever assembled. Point blank no bs they had the best roster in fb. . 08' steelers had amazing defense and a qb that made plays. . This is a team sport and, one player will make you. A solid qb will help more than other positions especially in the new nfl. Look at the ravens and steelers won mosly with defense. Either way its a team sport.

There are ten QBs you could put on the 49ers and they win the Super Bowl easily last year. Purdy is a decent QB, but people act like he’s the first person to figure out how to throw a football. It’s unreal. Plenty of QBs could have success on a team with a top 3 scoring defense, 4 pro bowlers around them on offense, and a top 5 head coach. Yes, Purdy has played well against bad teams in the regular season. No, Purdy has not played well in the playoffs or against other great teams. No, just because Purdy has played well at times, that doesn’t mean other QBs couldn’t play just as well, or even better.
