Kid took that team to NFC Championship in 1st year and lost because they blew out his elbow. Comes back the next year with all the pressure and doubters, no preseason due to injury and comes back with incredible 2nd season. Again - these are his 1st and 2nd seasons in the league. I'm 59 years old. Only Dan Marino comes close to what this kid has done in his first 2 seasons. By ANY objective standard, hate on this kid and I have to question your bias. The NFL scouts simply blew it on this guy.

In the 4 years Purdy played at Iowa State, they had the 4 greatest seasons in the last 100 years. I believe when Purdy lost 3 games he was playing with a concussion, as soon as the symptoms cleared he went back to winning. What I noticed most in the SB was Purdy hit every receiver in stride, but the Chiefs receivers had to stop catch the ball then continue.

The select few guys who undervalue Purdy like Simms, Wright, and Colin annoy the hell out of me. In the end though, im glad to have them because they will help keep that chip on Brocks shoulder. This kids got it. I knew from the first game he played when Jimmy G got hurt. I was pacing around the room venting to a friend about the teams injury luck saying the seasons over. Then its 3rd and 10 and Purdy hits Kittle with a free unblocked rusher about to smash him... coming straight at him directly in his view. My jaw dropped. I was like wait a minite now this kid might be something.

I was joking with my best friend after I saw Brock in the preseason that he might take over the team because Trey wasn’t really good. And after Trey was out because of injury and Jimmy G took over I joked that he will also get hurt during the season and Brock has to play. And when that happened during the Miami game and he got on the field I was worried out of my mind and thought the season is over. But then he proved my feelings from the beginning to be right. And he really impressed me in the Seattle game at Lumen Field, his first away game. I really hope he stays like this and wish him a HoF career.

I don't call them haters. I call them Purdy-deniers. I lump them in with climate-change deniers, holocaust-deniers, science-deniers, history-deniers, fact-deniers. In 2023 Purdy led all QB's in almost ALL QB stats, including the advanced metrics that "even the playing field," so to speak. (The single stat that I point to, if I have to pick just one, is his #1 rank for CPOE - that's Completion Percentage Over Expectation - a weighted stat that essentially ranks accuracy under difficulty/duress/challenging circumstances compared to all other QB's under similar situation.) His accuracy and layered placements - just over the linebacker's reach into that intermediate-deep zone is uncanny and is his comfort zone. Combine that with his soft, most catchable throw of any QB I've seen in a long while. He rarely throws bullets. He does when needed, but it's just rarely needed. His throws are usually just beautiful rainbows, arching and dropping right on target - both where and when it needs to be. To throw big rainbow arches accurately, not just accurately where but also accurately when it needs to land on target is amazing to me. So many are caught in full stride, right out of reach of multiple defenders. Consistently. He does this while always seeming calm and with poise, as he races through his progressions and processing defenses at lightening speed. More on that later. 7 consecutive games with 70+ Cmpl%. 8 games with Passer Rating over 120. Enabled FOUR of his skilled players to achieve 1,000+ yard seasons (one of them actually 2,000+ yards; the ONLY 2,000+ yard player in the league last season). He broke the 49er franchise QB record (beating Jeff Garcia, Steve Young and Joe Montana) for passing yards in a season. He broke the NFC record for biggest halftime comeback in a Championship game. He broke the NFL record for for highest deep pass (>20 yds) Cmpl%, by a LOT (at 63.8%; prev. record was 55%). He did all this the SAME YEAR that he had a major throwing arm injury, major reconstructive surgery and a long recovery that robbed him of almost all of a training season. Yet he still beat out Trey Lance and Sam Darnold for QB1 and started the first 5 games averaging 33.4 PPG. He blew out the Cowboys. He blew out and broke the Jaguars when they were the top AFC team. He blew out and broke the Eagles. 11 of the 49er's 12 wins were blowouts. He's also extremely quick. Not fast but quick. His 40 is merely good, I think around 4.8. He can and does get chased down from behind. But his 10 yard split is I believe in the 95th percentile. I forgot the number but I think it matches Lamar Jackson's. He has extremely quick "escape velocity" from the pocket and rarely gets sacked. And he's got big quads - lots of lower body strength and is not easy to tackle. His pocket escapes are becoming legendary and his scrambles are often very productive and I expect we'll see more of those this year. He's no Barry Sanders, but he's got some moves, too. And like Joe Montana he throws surprisingly accurately while on the run. Not saying he should be on Mount Rushmore. Of course not after a season and a half. But he took his team through the playoffs to the SB, and held off Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs for almost 5 full quarters, leading for much of it, losing only by 3 points in the final seconds of OT after an avalanche of big 49er errors and key injuries throughout the game. And he accomplished all this, all year, behind a below average, #24 ranked pass protection O-line - in his FIRST FULL SEASON. If he's overrated tell me another QB in NFL history that's achieved this level of success his first full season, right after a major throwing arm injury. At Wk10 David Lombardi showed a table of all NFL QB's this season. Next to the list of QB names were 7 columns, each depicting a defensive coverage formation (Cover 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and Cover 2 Man). Each coverage was color-coded for each QB line: blue for positive EPA/P (expected points added per play, a weighted advanced efficiency metric) for that coverage, red for negative EPA/P for that coverage. Brock Purdy was the ONLY QB that was blue ALL ACROSS THE TABLE. That is, he was the only QB in the league that averaged positive efficiency for EVERY defensive coverage formation. Not sure how that table looked at the end of the season, but it was clear at the time that he was the BEST QB in the league at reading defenses - in his FIRST full season. He was also #1 against the blitz, #1 in the red zone, #1 on 3rd downs, #1 in the 4th quarter. I could go on, but why bother? Deniers will be deniers.

Josh Allen is a good QB. But his team hasn't had as much success as a lot of QBs he's compared to. I firmly believe he gets more love from analysts bc he can throw far. Okay, that's a great skill. But why do you value that higher than completions, than TDs, than these other stats that were just read off?

Personally I don't get Lamar as MVP. He is flashy, but he hasn't won anything yet. Allen just makes too many mistaskes that he shouldn't be making at this point in his career.

I just got "a word." Kyle Shanahan is done with his grief of loosing another Super Bowl and he's Freaking Pissed Off!!! And conveyed that mentality to his team The 49ers!!!! Their soul purposed to BEAT UP The Chiefs and any team that stands in their way. So, most players of the team during off season are working doubling hard on their craft to go to Battle with the NFL!!! he also conveyed to his team any body hurt or injured or are not great in blocking, tackling, running, catching, or making lots of mistakes will not make the squad or play this season! He is pissed off!!! So, most of the main players are also "Pissed Off!" They team will enter this year in 2024 with a huge chip on their shoulders....and if healthy will play like that.

It's pitiful when they talk 🦜 about Elite Quarterbacks but, either they're hurt All the time, lose in the first round, or the excuse is look at the team he has 😅. It's pathetic, because the only elite quarterback is Mahomes, that's it that's all. No other quarterback in the NFL right now especially looking at stats and wins next to Mahomes is Brock Purdy. And he's not elite. Purdy is exactly 💯 very very very steady good. So what with the guys with big arms and runs a 40 fast. Show me their signature wins in January and on. And show me if their healthy or hurt. ????? Brock Purdy is above all those Quarterbacks except Mahomes

I hope the disbelief in Purdy's ability ends soon. It is boring and not smart. The guy completes passes and moves the team down field. QB is a complicated job, but watching passes completed and first downs made is easy.
