Era of Reclamation Ep.13: We Were Here: Extraordinary lives from Camden's Black British history

In this latest Era of Reclamation conversation, former Director Hartwig Fischer and Bonnie Greer are joined by Emily Momoh, Curator of the ‘We Were Here’ exhibition.
‘We Were Here’ is a collection of eight biographies of individuals of African and Caribbean heritage who lived, worked or studied in Camden.
Connections to the borough date back almost 300 years. Their stories explore community, enslavement, engagement, radical politics, abolition, education, creativity, relationships and racism. Momoh will talk about her background and inspirations, how the project began and how the Museum collection has been a vital resource for her continuing research.
The conversation will take a closer look at some of the individuals included in the exhibition whose stories highlight the struggles and challenges, the fight for dignity and respect of many people of the African diaspora.
