    Great video Hi my 20221 Chevy Equinox came up with a code P1101 it said alot has to do with MAF sensor my check engine came on do you think if I clean my MAF sensor like this video would help to finally clear the check engine light thank you kindly OH BTW I changed my air filter to a Fram air filter would that bring on the check engine light thanks only like 40,000 miles on my car

    @@Florida1963 hey. A dirty mass air flow sensor could cause a P1101. I'm not saying it's the only cause (as they sensor itself could be bad or there could be a wiring issue, for example), but it's definitely possible. It's worth giving it a clean first. Also, the Fram filter, if installed correctly, should not cause the code to come up.

    My Wife’s 2017 Equinox Idles Up And Down When Stopped Any Suggestion On What To Fix Or Do?

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    Unfortunately, I couldn't directly say without being there to test/ scan the car. There could be so many causes. But I would start with checking the air filter, cleaning the MAF and cleaning the throttle body. Those are fairly easy fixes and low cost. But it could be anything from a vacuum leak to an Ignition or fuel issue, to a clog in the airflow. Hard to say for sure

    @@akmasn9429 ah gotcha. Sounds like you have a bad/shorted MAF to me. Did you try cleaning it? Most times, it needs to be replaced, but there are rare instances where just a cleaning work.

    @@NexusAuto i did indeed, doesn't work, without it car stalls, but can be started at least.. need to be replaced for sure, the confusing thing was the absence of any error code.

  • @NexusAuto

    @@akmasn9429 That actually happens sometimes with MAF. If the MAF shorts, the car has default programming that is goes to (which is why the car still works when you unplug the MAF). Sometimes, if the MAF operation before it failed is similar to the default programming, the car may not throw the code. It does happen, and make diagnostics annoying sometimes. Just in case, make sure to check the wiring and harness too. Make sure there is no shorts or breaks in the wire. You may replace the MAF, only to find the signal or ground wire was bad. That has happened too, but is rare.

    DOES THE MAF HAVE A FUSE????

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    Жыл бұрын

    It would, but it may not be an individual fuse. Most likely the ECM fuse would also control the MAF, but can't say for sure.
