My mechanic said can’t find nothing wrong with car took it to the Nissan dealership and was told it’s gonna cost 10,000 to repair at least. Bought an air filter and cleaned MAF sensor fixed the problem. I’ve been dealing with crooks

Sounds like they were backyard mechanics to me? A professional mechanic would have done a scan and gotten an error code pointing to a faulty sensor.

I learned that a MAF engine will idle low when the MASS sensor is bad, but a MAP engine will idle high when there is a problem with the MAP sensor.

Great information..my 2008 Infiniti G35 car it Lost power in acceleration..I pulled out on the highway an it wouldn't go..it's just lazy I would stop at the stop light, stop sign an the car just wouldn't move I ofto almost floor the gas pedal for it to go..an then I can hear a little vibration like the car it's just struggling..

Could this possibly affect other sensors? I got the P0068 code. Throttle position, MAF, MAP.

Love your video. I've been trying to solve my rough idle / starting issue for a while now and I can confirm I got some of the symptoms you mentioned. I have these symptoms: - Rough starting. (I have to pump the gas a bit, when starting the engine in the morning) - I don't have the best fuel consumption - a little bit of grey smoking from the exhaust - Rough idle / stalling when the engine is at operation temp. - Sometimes stalls after 1 min, if I do a cold start and just let it idle Items cleaned: - MAF - Throttle body - IACV valve (including new gasket) Changed: - Fuel filter - Fuel pump - Sparkplugs - Coilpacks - Engine ground wires - Vacuum lines and intercooler couplers - battery - Altenator I'm going to install a fuel pump hardwire kit and a new MAF. I hope it works haha.

Thanks for the info. Im getting P107 Error Code. Cleaned mass Sensor with CRC Mass Sensor Cleaner Twice. Error goes away after I rest engine light, but still comes back. Tells me bank 1 running to lean? So maybe its time I replace my mass airflow sensor? But I keep hearing from others that that p107 code can be a nightmare and so many other things.

my map had to be replaced right after my ecm was. i was out of a car for a long while. i got fixed and changed plugs wirez and o2 sensors filters ect.. it runs great now. i use rubbing alcohol to clean mine.

I have a 2011 Chevy impala v6 LT check engine light is on reduced engine power both came on once I replaced my starter and traction showing up also but It starts perfectly… I go into drive and my car moves but then it’s like the car isn’t responding to the wheels anymore not even in reverse I push the pedal and it’s nothing but I cut off the car and restart it it’s back working but it doesn’t last long I’ve changed the throttle body (this probably the shiniest part on the car now lmao ) and the acceleration pedal now but notice I was getting more response from the old pedal then the new one. What can be the issue it’s like a sequence with it having to restart it for it to only work but only for a couple seconds

Hi my car altima 2015 sometime while i am at the junction. When i press the gas pedal to move.. Its takes me 2 strokes and sundenly accelerates and start to move. Kindly guide please.

My car has no check engine light on but sometimes car moves very slowly when I accelerate, especially at traffic signal lights. Car don't move as expect. And very high fuel consumption. Would that be the problem of MAF.

Am not sure about your particular model but on those I saw it is immediately after the air cleaner housing, on some models you would have to remove the air cleaner housing to get to the MAF sensor!

I’ve got 2006 Lexus rx400h….ran perfect with no check engine light. I plugged in obd2 reader and read code p0133 so I cleared it to see if it would come back…now getting super rough idle…codes P0300-p0306 are now on, misfires…would that be the maf is bad or be the issue?

Bad MAF sensor can cause engine misfire. Insufficient fuel delivery or an improper fuel-air mixture can cause misfires.

If the idle speed is lower than recommended, many different problems could be a probable cause. dirty fuel injectors, clogged air filters, bad spark plugs, and ignition related problems are among them. Meanwhile if the normal idle setting is made lower than recommended, engine cannot handle the load on car start up. Some people intentionally reduce the idle speed setting to save fuel and the car will have difficulty starting to travel and have frequent stops.

9 - DPF Regenerations would run much more often than what they should creating excessive heat ending up in a melted DPF or blown up turbo or both

Is it possible to clean a MAF that has a film and not a wire; no one never explains the differences and which ones can't be cleaned. You need to know what kind of MAF sensor the vehicle has before you can clean it. correct?

Hi I replaced my MAF sensor, engine light came back on almost straight away. I removed the wiring harness on the sensor, engine carried on running, which I was told it shouldn't do that. Is this a wiring fault? As far as I know the new MAF is correct, could it also be the MAP sensor? Please help, I'm tearing my hair out, over this Grand Cherokee Summit, 2015 3.0 crd. In some models, if the MAF sensor is disconnected or malfunctioning, the ECU may enter a default mode or use pre-programmed values to estimate the air intake, but this can result in a compromised fuel-to-air ratio. In such cases, the engine may still run, but it will likely experience a decrease in power, reduced fuel efficiency, and potentially rough idling or stalling. Furthermore, the vehicle's onboard diagnostics system may detect the MAF sensor issue and illuminate the check engine light. Have you scanned the vehicle for trouble codes? If MAF problem codes were generated and replacing the MAF sensor wouldn't fix the issue, it could mean there is wiring problem. Scanning the engine might reveal other problems as well.

Could bad signals from MAF cause Temperature gauge to toggle? My 2011 Nissan Frontier was fine until recently cleaned my K&N air filter, then Check Engine Light came on. Happened once before after cleaning/ oiling K&N. So, its obvious that oil got in them Sensor. Now my Check Engine on and may temperature gauge has been acting funny: temp toggles but goes back to normal. I'm running the miles after CRC cleaning to clear Dash lights Anyone experienced temp gauge toggling?

Oh yes , the oil you spray on a K&N will mess things up sure , get cleaner and clean the MAFS .

No you have to reset it, but it shouldn't come back on if you cleaned it properly. use ONLY Mass Air Flow cleaner CRC is usually the best. NEVER use carb cleaner or brake cleaner it can damage the sensor and leave residue behind which gives false readings to the ECU. Do not clean it when it it plugged into the car, remove it completely and disconnect from the harness. Allow it to dry for 15-30 minutes before plugging it back in. To Reset the light you can by a cheap OBDII scanner from Walmart or Amazon that costs around $20 Hope that helps. Autozone and Advance Auto reset them for free

On some models the check engine light will be turned ON after some time of starting the engine, and therefore once the MAF sensor is cleaned and replaced, the check engine will go OFF. On other models, you need to reset.

It depends on the model! On some cars you need to remove hose clamps at both ends, on some cars the sensor is bolted to the air induction system and hence can be removed by removing the bolts!

To find the MAF sensor on any car, just find the air cleaner and follow the duct that is going to the intake manifold. You will usually find the MAF sensor right after the air cleaner.

I had a problem with my 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS that would cause it to slam bang shift when it got warm and when pulling a light weight trailer. It ran just fine, didn't use more fuel than it normally did, and the check engine light NEVER came on! I replaced the MAF and the problem with the transmission shifting never came back. Just to be sure, I pulled the plug on my new MAF and the problem immediately came back. This was tough to find because the slam bang shifting only happened when pulling a trailer on the highway

There’re numerous reasons to these specific symptoms beside Maf sensor. There could be a leak in emissions vacuum, purge valve not working properly, canister gone bad, brake booster leaking air . The best thing to DIY, is to get a OBD reader and watch some good videos on KZread which they show you how to monitor those symptoms using OBD reader in real time to pinpoint the problem. Don’t change anything until you know what is causing. I learned hard way by changing coil pack & spark plugs just to find out that the purge valve was bad & I had to change it. But I still have issues currently working on it myself to save some bucks

You cant test this Sensor you need the table which mass on which RPM is possible but to get one is unpossible

Also if you unhook it and nothing changed then the sensors bad but if you do hear a change in the sound its working however may still need another one or cleaned.

You do not clean a mass flow air sensor with brake spray cleaner there is a special cleaner for mass air flow sensors that you can purchase at the auto parts store Walmart but you never use brake cleaner to clean a mass air flow Center

You can just have the MAF cleaned, you don't have to get a new one.

DO NOT USE carb cleaner or alcohol specially it dries things out. USE ONLY M.A.F. sensor cleaner. or cleaners designed for sensors/electronics. they dry clean an leave no residue

There is two of them I just found out. One is directly after the air filter and slides into the side of the pipe. The other one bolts up in line, like this video

You can use throttle body cleaner to clean your mass air flow sensor and throttle body,but u can't use throtttle body cleaner on your mass air flow sensor.

What sinsor should I check

I have a Vauxhall Astra diesel 1.7 2011 my dpf light came on so i took it for long drive on motorway the dpf light eventually went off 😊 but now my fuel is getting used up very fast I purchased the forte injector cleaner and even that didn't sort the fuel issue out

How about the air cleaner? Check to see if it is getting clogged. Check your MAF sensor if covered in dirt, leaky injectors and faulty cold start injectors are also to be looked at.
