    Everyone will say, "Enhancment". Looks like it actually improves image. These projectors are getting huge for home. Budget 4K...I might get one in addition to my Panasonic 8000U. I've had my eye on this one. Most content isn't close to 4K. You guys are the best.

    We've just got ourselves one of these, ur first movie on it was "Pitch Black" which on the epson lived up to its name. On our previous projector, an Optoma HD33 it was more "Pitch Murky Grey".

    Hi Dave, You spoke a little about this projector having PIP (Picture in Picture), which peaked my interest. I have a 110 inch screen. With the PIP option what size can I get the 2nd picture up to? My current projector only allows the 2nd picture up to a size of 20 inches, which is impossible to watch a 2nd sporting event (just to tiny), so the PIP option doesn't get used. I'm really hoping the 5040 will be able to make the PIP (2nd picture) 40 inches or larger. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

    Just purchased the 5040 Wireless and I am only using the wireless transmitter from about 12 feet away from the projector so I am not sure if I am getting full 4k benefits from my Sony 4k dvd player sending the signal wirelessly. Al so I need some advise on a good to really good screen a relatively cheap one because I spent all my money on the projector or is there a certain kind()color, brand) of indoor paint, roller, brush I should use to cover my wall until I can afford a decent screen? Thanks in advance. Rod D.

  • @Brandon-mx8gy

    Confused on what the 4K enhancement is exactly. Does it upscale 1080p content to "4K" using the pixel shifting... or does it only work when you send a native 4K signal and the it uses the additional resolution to then use pixel shifting to give it a near "4K" look? I know it isn't true 4K but trying to figure out if getting a UHD blu-ray player will provide an actual benefit or not with this projector. I understand that this projector will accept HDR from UHD content/gaming/etc but have heard varying reports on success handling it. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

    The horizontal lens shift is listed as 47% but in the your demonstration it only moves a tiny amount. Did you move it to the extremes in this video? Maybe it was because there was vertical shift offset so it couldn't go the full 47% in the horizontal at the same time?

I keep 5050 on on Eco since my kid games on it but when I want to watch a movie I switch to medium and I do go to high power if I think the movie or TV show will be dark. But all the modes are really bright in bright cinema mode.

    I believe this is the equivalent of the TW8300 sold in Asia. Hi I've sold a number of tw8200s and tw8300s in Singapore, but I haven't got a chance to see the TW8300 in action yet as I no longer stock in higher end units, due to market saturation. I do have a demo unit for the entry level TW5350, I'd like to know how is the frame interpolation on this model? I realise with the Epson TW5350 on default setting or lightest mode, customers tend to get a bit of "motion sickness" watching for too long. So they prefer to turn frame interpolation off. How does the interpolation on this model compare to the TW5350? I feel the noise reduction feature on the TW5200 was better, and on the whole a better projector. But I still find Panasonic's frame creation way more realistic and easy on the eye, compared to Epson. Since the AE4000 all the way to AE8000, pity panasonic no longer focuses on home theatre models.... to my knowledge.

The movies are very much cropped just like the theatres and cable shows and HBO, Cinamax all that stuff in their recorded ratios looks good. Lots of fine tuning adjustments on this unit 6040UBe. You can spend lots of time fiddling around with it and then you can put the settings in memory for next time. Rod D.

Of I put the PJ on the ceiling all the way against the back wall, I believe the front lens will be around 10'-4" to 10'-5" (aprox.); will it be enough to fit my desired screen size?

  • @ProjectorPeople

    @ProjectorPeople

    7 жыл бұрын

    It’s going to be really close. You need exactly 10’5” from lens to screen to fill the 106" diagonal. But, you also need to take in account a little room in the back for the cables to sneak in and hook to the connections in the back. If any measurements are off, I’m afraid the image will be too small to fill the 106”.

    Hi David, thanks for watching. Purists will always say black or dark grey walls are best (and they're right), but as long as you can keep ambient light out, tan walls shouldn't be too big an issue. Hello! Recently, you advised me to buy epson 7300 (I choose the projector from: epson 7300, sony45, panasonic 8000). But tw7300 among them has the lowest contrast! And in one of the reviews I read, the contrast even in low-cost dlp- projector will be better (maybe). I have no money to tw9300. Does my sense to save for tw9300, if my room was not ready and she has white walls and ceiling? Or maybe it makes sense to me to take tw9200? Its price from us, as that tw7300, but it contrasts, as in 9300! What should I buy now? 4k and hdr does not interest me. In general, I see in contrast the advantage when watching movies at night, but the room with light walls and ceiling, if the buy - tw9300 or tw9200? (Screen - 110, the distance between the projector and the screen 3.50m).

    The wireless is tricking getting it hooked up correctly and there is significant finding each other time. The transmitter and projector I mean, the BLUE blinking transmitter time you need to allow a good one minute to find each other. Love the remote complete control of projector features. I need a decent screen though anybody have a really good older one for me to test drive :=))

    I wish products that don't actually support something wouldn't use that "thing" in their marketing bs. To this day many people still think "HD ready" means they will be watching a real HD image. Now the same with 4K/UHD up scaling crap.

    I have a dedicated theater with a black ceiling. I wish Epson would allow consumers a choice between black or white. I have to spend an extra grand so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. With that being said, is the 6040pro worth a thousand dollars more over the 5040?

  • @ProjectorPeople

    @ProjectorPeople

    Interestingly, both the 5040 and the 6040pro have 2.1:1 zoom lenses and lens memory. They also both have 2,500 lumens and both can handle 4K content. The 6040p does have a couple extra features that you are paying for but overall the image quality will be the same.

    Last year, I bought an Optoma UHD60 after good reviews. It is the worst projector I've ever had. I started back with the Infocus IN72, 420hd. This Optoma has white washout on most all content, especially if it isn't 4k. Watching Netflix or anything with mixed 4k and not, is frustrating as it has to constantly search for source when content switches resolution. KZread does it all the time. Netflix trailers are not 4k, neither are the info screen for shows. You have a blank screen for several seconds while the projector figures out what to do. How is this Epson on switching between resolution? I just realized this review is 2 1/2 years ago. Sad that I am looking at an old model to replace my new one.

    Hi there, richystar2001 - the 5040ub will accept a 4k signal but outputs an enhanced 1080p image that simulates 4k resolution by slightly shifting the pixels on top of each other in a step ladder pattern. Kind of hard to explain without seeing it, but there is a remarkable difference in sharpness.

    I don't understand you Americans. Firstly you talk too much about all the settings showing the back of the apparatus, where everybody can see the "Holes" by themselves. So you want to show 4K video "Just outside the building" As a person you go outside, where you look straight up into a tree as if God was up there! Then you go closer and closer to the tree, constantly moving, until your nose strikes the tree. And exactly in this strange position "The truth about a projector" is read, nor from a liver like in the old Babylonian empire, but from the bark of the tree! You might have taken some cinematic footage, holding the iPhone still and having the objects move around in the foreground on a mostly static background. Just like making film.
