Awesome song aside, I love that Stink's name implies his parents actually considered a list of names for their baby boy and came to the conclusion that Stink was their best choice. Unless that's his nickname, which I honestly hope not, his parents must either be very uncreative or just knew what they were going to expect when having a child.

Knowing originally this was supposed to be the end credits song for the book is so interesting since people assuming Trixie is a werid jerk bully is basically what a chapter in a book is about how people think shes a werido jerk but shes just a small scared kid who loves her friends so god damn much and is always willing to help

I never knew how much I needed Molly saying, “Careful, darlin’!”

I feel like this is a school play they all put on together, 10/10

After this i just imagine: Feenie:"You guys!!! I met the Bubblegum Renegade!! They're not at all mean like you said!" Molly:"i mean of course they're not mean. They're just super cool its intimidating to be near them."

This feels like a song from a stage play/musical! It’s set in 1952 (from the description) and the show is about a gang of greasers having a turf war with another group, while their kids or younger siblings go to the same school. Molly, Stink, and Stonk are the younger siblings of people in the “Knuckleduster” gang, while Trixie’s siblings are the leaders of “Renegades” a rival gang that is taking over Knuckleduster territory (Pheonica is unaffiliated but is friends with Knuckledusters like Molly, Stink, and Stonk). Trixie, being a Renegade in Knuckleduster territory is outnumbered in school, so they have to put on this rough and tough persona so they aren’t bullied, but when they see Pheonica trapped in the jungle gym Trixie helps her out showing their true self. Trixie then declines Feeny’s offer of a play date because they are a genuinely good kid that listens to their parents, and are just in a tough social situation. Also Trixie is called “Bubblegum Renegade” because of the bubblegum pink hair and being part of the Renegade gang. I want to watch a full musical stage play of this now.

Umm actually, this is directly stated to be an AU so regardless of the likelihood of the group (especially Stonk) using they/them pronouns for Trixie is independent of any statements made in Prison of Plastic. Of course, the AU is also set in 1952 so the likelihood of anyone being intentionally that level of respectful if they knew Trixie's pronouns is probably *lower* than canon. *Pushes down pedant glasses, they fall off*

So this would have to be an AU, even if the story is totally something Trixie would do.

Something to keep in mind, in epithet erased, anyone with sunglasses, no matter how they appear on the outside, is a trustworthy sweetheart.

man I would kill for a full scale musical like this where a bunch of kids have to save the local playground from becoming a mini mall eventually having to rely on the bubblegum renegade to eventually help them solve all the problems seems like a kick ass musical.
