    Prinzessin Tausendschön, it's a princess from a German fairy tale. It is her name actually. It means she is a princess with beauty of a thousand times. What a nice name to a sock yarn. Very nice.

    I love the new music, today. As always, you provide good inspiration for new knitwear, podcasts to watch and interesting books and movies. I will share a good series I watched call the Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. Sigourney Weaver is the main actor and tackled a, not ofen spoken about, relationship that is all too common. I will check out the podcasts mentioned, if you like them, I probably will, as well. Enjoy the first hints of Spring.

    Delightful, as always, Selma. I sip my coffee, knit along and talk right back to you while watching your podcast! Wow! So many FO’s-so good- the Gnome-so classy yet cute! I am glad that I am not the only one who struggles sometimes to find the right pattern for the yarn and vice versa. I live your creativity. I have had a productive week with FO’s too-I finished my Weekender, finally, it languished for a while as other holiday and family WIPS took precedence. Then I ripped the whole thing out from the arm holes down as it was ginormous. Determined to have it be my Finish it February project. Love the result. I also knit two Manhattan hats for my son and son-in-law’s birthdays. On to the DRK Everyday cowl for my DIL and tiny hoodie for my soon to be great-great niece or nephew. I need to chose another languishing WIP for March Madness. I agree that we need to keep up these new monthly goals -health, WIPS, house, etc. thank you for the movie and book tips too.

I was in high school at the time in São Paulo, Brazil, and you are so right - they absolutely had to have cooperation and understanding to do what they ended up doing in order to survive. I'm also on a roll with finishing projects and trying to "move" daily.

One thing I do when I knit kids sweaters is use any leftover yarn to make them a matching gnome. They love them. The movie about the Andean plane crash is from the book “ Alive” by Piers Paul Read. I remember reading it when I was young and found it to be more inspiring than horrific. Well worth a read.

    you have indeed been very productive the last few weeks! about the gnome : I knitted the small ones by Susan b. anderson (name of the pattern : gnome). I love those little ones because to me they seem to be more a true tomte or nisse as described in nordic folktales. the nisse or tomte are invisible (hidden somewhere), but they are somewhere in the house protecting the people in the house from the evil wintery forces. these small ones are easy to knit, they are stable as they have little feet, no fuss with rocks. -- I love your recommendations for films and books. greetings from belgium,

Abt the peeling, i have had a series in my podcast about the animals we do get our wool and fibers from, and i was learning that , more soft and exlusive the yarn Are the more peeling. Cuz the softer the fiber Are the smaller/ shorter/ finer the fibers Are and then IT peels more. Cuz short fibers have more " ends" and the peeling happends in the ends. But chasmir and yak is lovly 😍❤️ hugs from Gurli , Norway 🇳🇴

    Your red vest really looks good on you !!! How nicw to see you use the yarn you got in Barcelona. I am looking forward to have your feedback on the wear of La Bien-Aimée yarn, I've heard from some knitters, italso ahs a tendency to pill. Thank you for introducing some new to me podcasters. Your monthly challenges are quite inspiring, thanks ! Loved the footage and song at the end.

    Thank you for your podcast. I really want to make the Giselle hat, putting it in my queue. I’ve made a couple of Musselburghs and the Giselle is a wonderful variation of the double layered concept, with lace! Love it. Your Rivendell suits you beautifully, the colour and the silhouette. I really like it with your collared white blouse and also worn on its own. Until next time.

    I knitted the Ranunculus a couple of years ago. However, I have just frogged it. I had knitted it in an alpaca silk yarn but it grew and grew. (stretched) whilst being worn. I plan to knit it again using the same yarn but held together with something that wouldn't droop and stretch so much. I am hoping that will work so that the second yarn, stops the growing!

    For the Giselle Hat...do you think it would work to make it so the brim could fold up? I'm thinking about family members who are sensitive to the warm fibres but I could use wool or mohair on the outside and the inside could be something they aren't allergic to?

  • @littlebigknits

    @littlebigknits

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes, you could but the mohair doesn’t actually touch the skin so maybe give it a try. There is so reason you couldn’t do cotton on the inside and mohair on the outside
