I love listening to you and seeing all your beautiful makes and plans for the future. God bless you! And Yoda loves you. I think, she is a descendent of my old cat Peanut. She was just beautiful with those green eyes and blue gray coat with the white patch on her neck and belly. I miss her to do this day. StitchedbyMimi
That star on Yoda’s chest!! ❤❤
Love the footage of you & Yoda. ❤
This spring, Madeline Tosh is reviving two of Shibui’s most popular yarns: Silk Cloud and Pebble. Possibly more later.

Selma, your episodes are always such a treat! I loved the ending with your sweet kitty being smoochy. How interesting that she has a white star on her chest. Maybe an inspiration for a pair of gray mittens or hat with a white star?!

Watched Lupin and loved it.
Thanks for the visit, Selma. Your episodes are always a treat. xxx
Thanks for another great podcast Selma! I have some old primitive hooked rugs made by my mother, and have nor washed them. If they hang on a wall, I think vacuuming with a very light suction attachmentt is sufficient. If they have been walked on for many years they may need washing. Depends on the backing material also.
Yoda is the sweetest cat! I might have to cave on adding a cat to our household. Our cat was killed by a coyote in December and we need another sweet feline in our lives.

Yes, we got hammered last week with snow. Cape Breton got the worst of it and we are getting another snow storm this afternoon 🙄between 30-50cm in some places. Not sure where we are going to put it all. Had Spring like weather for the last 4 days so it did melt some of it. This is usually Iceuary, rain, freezing rain...at least you dont have to shovel rain🤪. That colour looks lovely on you Selma. Great episode, always enjoy your chats. Nice to see Yoda, those green eyes❤ Sharon.

Thank you for another lovely episode. I noted several of your patterns to add to my long list of knitting, and also looked into the fabric shop. They have wonderful colors, and I will be purchasing some soon. It so funny that while shopping on the Saturday before the Grammy’s, I heard Luke Combs’ version of Fast Car. I actually loved it which is a lot for me because I felt this is a song that was best left as is and I don’t like country music. However, it was fantastic, and seeing the two of them perform it was awesome! I hope the next weeks are less busy and that you have more opportunities for your making. Cheers!❤
Thankyou, Selma for a wonderful episode! 👌A pleasure and inspiration,as always.Hope you have a mindful and productive week.🙏👋🐨🌏xx

Ya, I havent been reading books either and am trying to get back to that... I started reading Gilead by Marilynne Robinson which is quite beautiful so far....in the past I encouraged you to read Atul Gawande's book "Being Mortal" which is an important book for all of us to read about getting older/end of life decisions and options that are important to know, I think that book will help you with the issues with your mother and also for yourself as you plan for your own old age... so I hope you do read Being Mortal soon....

Love the sweater you are wearing, it's getting on my list, I have the yarn just for this. Love the cosmic socs! About reading, I love reading and I find myself sometimes just falling asleep while reading as I get to tired by the time I put my needles away. I recently started to listen to audio books on loan from my library and I feel like it's a complete zen experience (combining the knitting with reading). I'd be very glad to hear more about your reading. Thank you for another beautiful episode.

Depending on the project, when knitting with bulky in the round to spare my hands (I knit English style) I will use the correct size needle eg 10mm in my right hand and use a 9mm or 8mm in my left hand. It seems to help the stitches move along the cord and makes it a much more pleasant knit. It doesn’t affect the fabric as you are always forming the stitches with the correct size needle. Hope that helps someone with painful hands.

Thank you. As usual, some lovely ideas and inspiration - I’ve made notes! I tested the Rhue sweater (LOVE my version and have worn it loads) and there were several of the other testers who knitted it for males. Best footage ever ❤ Yoda ❤😊😻😻😻😻
Lanitium Ex Machina is my absolute favorite for socks. I made a Finnish friend who shopped at a craft fair for me because she doesn't sell on Etsy anymore. The lengths I go to😅
Thanks for another fun episode. I, too, am quite taken with the Rhue Sweater by Rebecca Clow. I have the perfect yarn waiting for me from a recent trip to Austria that will be perfect. It is in the same colors that Rebecca models. My only dilemma is should I put the green on top or the cream on top? Hummmm…….it seems like quite a big decision! I have a cardigan to finish first, so I suppose I have a bit of time to consider my choice. I bought the pattern, so I may swatch the colorwork first to see if one way or the other inspires me. 🤗

Love the Sari Nordland Sweater!! Beautiful! Also enjoyed your hunt for the perfect blue yarn. Colors really can be tricky sometimes, who knew that there are so many variations on shades right? Great catching up with you.
I love blues in the category known as French blue. It's a very hard color to find because so many so-called French blues have too much green in them. Nary a single French blue in my stash, still looking. One of my favorite blues is Blue Blue in Linen Quill yarn from Purl Soho. I would put it in the bright cobalt blue family. It's stunning when paired next to black or a very dark navy blue.

I like Drops Air, it's really really soft and nice to knit with, but unfortunately it doesn't hold up all that well over time. I made a raglan sweater with some celtic cables that I really love with Drops Air, and I wear it a lot, and I have to say that under the arms and at the side of the chest where there's a bit more friction, it pills a lot and this way all the fibers get pulled from the net tube they are in :(

Thank you for your podcast it's always lovely and so delightful to watch! ❤ On the Drops Air. I know a lot of people really like it very much, so maybe it was just bad luck or maybe it's the colorway, as the dye can sometimes change the structure of the yarn. Well, but my absolutely worst pilling experience ever, I had with Drops Air. When I was still knitting the pullover it already started to pill... and it hasn't stopped since. It's very soft and cuddly though, so I wear it anyway, but only at home. Sometimes I'm thinking about trying another color (mine was color 30, it's called sage green), but couldn't work up the courage yet. Have a good time! Andrea
