If the Capitals hired the Capfriendly owners, then it's a little bit understandable, but at the same time they're taking away the most reliable website where people see what contracts look like and etc. It's even more ridiculous that only ten other teams have their own program for their cap management (Sens weren't one of those 10 which makes the Dorion-Dadanov debacle a lot worse) and Gary isn't doing jackshit about it. Probably the worst commissioner in sports period.

Walman is not a 2D. Petry is fine 3rd pair. Move on from Ghost. Trade Matta. Holl is not as bad as you say. He may have some trade value being a RHD.

Dakota Joshua is a tough player. He can create havoc in front of the net, he fights along the boards and digs in the corners. He can bring 45-50pts to a grindline. Plus be a Michigan born and raised kid. I went to school with his Mom. He's got grit. Depending on chemistry, he could be a 2nd line fill in. He fast, tough and can add maturity at 28yrs old!

I keep hearing that we need to move on from Petry, which i agree with. The problem is, im not sure Lalonde and Yzerman agree with that. The only people that were held accountable for their mistakes on d was Walman, Holl and Matta. Those r the only guys who were scratched and Walman was taken off the top pair, while Petry was given a pass. Maybe im wrong, just not sure Petry is going anywhere nor do i think he will be a healthy scratch this year. I hope im wrong. Holl was always a top 6 d in Toronto and was used as a scapegoat in the last year in Toronto. Holl just looked like he lost all confidence in Toronto. He would make bonehead blind passes and turnovers here, his scratches last year was def merited. Also, i think he was signed because no one was sure Edvinson wasnt going to be healthy at the start of the season. I dont know if he was ever a descent d man, but Toronto thought he was until the last year he was there, especially in the playoffs. With Joshua, why do we need another Copp/ Compher on a overpay for a bottom 6 forward. I hope its just rumors. I also dont think we see a big swing on a big player, like Stamkos or Guenztel. It will be an interesting offseason. I just hope they leave enough room for some young guys on the forward core, not counting Bergers. Yzerman hasnt shown he is willing to let the young players on the roster in the last few years, he just signs free agents.
