Episode 281 - The Detroit Red Wings' Draft & Free Agency So Far

Спорт

The draft went as planned but was the Brandsegg-Nygård pick to safe given the players available? Plus we take a look at what many are calling a disappointing free agency so far after signing Erik Gustafsson, Cam Talbot, Tyler Motte, and Jack Campbell. But are there moves yet to be made with how the roster looks right now?

Honestly, I really like the Nygard pick. I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops. If he can get some training from Kronwall and/or Holmstrom in Sweden, that would be pretty damn cool. As for free agency, I'm indifferent. Everyone complaining about the kids not getting ice time because we signed so many vets last year will finally get their wish. Maybe those kids are ready? I guess we'll find out.

Greg I believe last year your comments about Danielson were almost the same regarding selecting someone different. Now you guys are talking about him making the team because he played so well last year. Give it a little time, I think MBM will be a monster for them. Listening to Scotty Bowman's interview with Mick he said when he was in Detroit there was a certain type player that they looked for and that's how they drafted. It seems Stevie is following the same path.

Go back and watch Kane's return to Chicago and watch the overtime goal. Kane pushed Walman out of the way during his celebration and there was a look on his face I won't forget. That's when Walman started going downhill in my opinion.

Advertiser required it rerolled, nothing I can do about it. It's done next week though.

Wings are not any better Defensively.. they’ve made less than lateral moves and will have an injection from Ed

Stop overrating Stevie he went to Tampa Bay that had Steve and Victor already that helped win cups. Here in Detroit he has Zero trades work out and free agent signings and he had around forty draft picks since being in Detroit and the only picks to make it to the team was 3 top 6 picks and no one else. The only thing he’s done well is first round picks. He waits to long with the rookies after losing to Ottawa two years ago he should’ve played the rookies last year. He got rid of Walman and a second to clear cap and do what with it nothing even if does something that money doesn’t matter still had enough money to make these moves and if Walman is hurt you could have put him on long term injury list to begin season because you can go for the cap in offseason buy a bit. We have 5 left handed defenseman again.
