You bridge Moe for 3 years to keep RFA and go long term for Raymond. Raymond Still has higher ceiling right now. With the way Raymond played in the last half of the season swayed to make more sense to sign him long term. But Ideal is long term for both.

Hot take/ shot in the dark prediction - Edvinsson struggles the first 50 games to get 20 points, then the last 32, something clicks, and he ends up near a PPG and ends up with 47 points this year. Then next year, he's a top 2 d man and gets 55-65 points with 10-15 goals in 2025-2026 and leads playoff scoring for defense on Wings. We get knocked out in the second round by Florida, We sweep Toronto in the first round and Steve Dangle gets a hernia from yelling.

I am thinking the Wings could have five 30+ goal scorers this season. Kane' Larkin' Raymond' DeBrincat and Taresenko. If Big Rass' Compher and Berggren can push near 20. Veleno and Copp should get atleast 15. Thats more goals than the forwards got last year right there! Forwards had 231 goals last year and I have 240 goals for with two more players to still contribute. I don't see us losing any offense.

Faber and Seider play similar roles. But Detroit is a 90 point team and should be in the playoffs easy. The wild is a bubble team with 87 points. I'm just saying Seider can lead the Wings into the playoffs.

He hasn't had the chance. They threw him on a line with horrible linemates and limited minutes, and still did really good his first season. Only played 12 games last year and scored 6 points. Roughly a .5 points per game player. Imagine if he played with a 2C. He's FAR better than Veleno and Rass, probably put together. Also better than Copp and Fischer.

Thanks for the episode guys! I feel like people forget about intangibles in signings like this. At face value you see a slight overpay (even just from analytically i don't see it) but people REALLY forget the fact that this signing gives us two years (instead of one year he would have received in arb) plus he still remains under team control as RFA in two seasons. I still feel like Veleno can take another step. He can be a 15 goal (35pt) guy, that will eventually be apart of the mentor group for young prospects. He'll play 4C and PK2 and do fine at this AAV for us.

It feels really odd to see people saying Veleno's deal is an overpay when his performance was comparable to Rasmussen's performance at ~$1m less. Veleno's deal is fine. We're gonna sign Seider and Raymond, and still have cap space regardless of whether or not we sign Berggren.

I just threw in Dylan James because he's from Calgary.. We have the deepest prospect pool in the league. They can't all fit into a lineup.. Might as well trade some of them, while they have value and upgrade the team.

14:50 ironically they don't need all that much luck. Patrick Kane had THE worst takeaway-to-giveaway ratio of all forwards on the wings last year. I haven't checked because I know he didn't have the most giveaways (close though), but I'd be fairly certain he has the highest giveaways per minute on ice. I mean, just look at the first AZ game, a bunch of AHL'ers just freely skating up to Kane and picking his pocket every time he had it. He's terrible at protecting the puck 9 out of 10 times, but that one time he'll do an incredible protect so you forget the bad ones. He will sit behind the circle just halting play for ages though, especially on power plays he'll just stand there for long stretches doing nothing, and that's how his possession goes up. Seriously, just go watch a few of his games, pay very close attention to Kane, and tell me I'm wrong.

You would be wrong. Kostin had the highest, then Edvinsson, then Maatta, then Holl, then Larkin, and THEN Kane. If you are just looking at the PP he is second to Copp.

My first memory of being a wings fan is during the 02 playoffs I was in elementary school and we had a fair going on during game 7 against the avs and one of the teachers would come out and announce every goal on a bill horn and everyone would go nuts I just remember people started to not believe her when she said it was 5-0 and then we ended up winning 7-0, I started watching nearly every game of the year once I started getting more time in 2021 when I was living in Seattle and only had a few friends who were also wings fans in the area

I would sign Berggen to a 3 year extension - higher AAV, but he's still an RFA after that contract which is great. We know that Berggen produces offensively and this year he would very likely get a regular spot in the Top 9. Could be a steal of a contract if he produces like in 22-23.

2 rookies on the 3rd line is bold, I think the hope is that Motte will play himself into a 3rd line role with Ras at center so the 4th line can have Coop/Fish as the center wing combo, gives the winger spot on the 3rd and 4th line up for grabs then with flexibility to move Ras to wing to try out Danielson…if the rookies can outplay Veleno/Fish/Copp and other bottom forwards, that’s a good problem to have

45:11 I feel the same way about the Chychrun trade. We lost offense (which Chabot can bring but can he be healthy) but brought in a better defensive presence in Jensen (regressed a bit last year but was still better defensively than Chychrun) which balances out our D more. I think the Sens have a few issues with their roster too, especially since Perron and Amadio prefer to play RW (I liked Amadio down the middle with Vegas so I hope they put him there) and Perron can HOPEFULLY be the 3RW instead of praying he can be a 2LW (its possible but super unlikely). It really feels like both our teams are close but its a matter of finding the right guys and balancing the roster which I think both teams have done really well so far

45:11 I feel the same way about the Chychrun trade. We lost offense (which Chabot can bring but can he be healthy) but brought in a better defensive presence in Jensen (regressed a bit last year but was still better defensively than Chychrun) which balances out our D more. I think the Sens have a few issues with their roster too, especially since Perron and Amadio prefer to play RW (I liked Amadio down the middle with Vegas so I hope they put him there) and Perron can HOPEFULLY be the 3RW instead of praying he can be a 2LW (its possible but super unlikely). It really feels like both our teams are close but its a matter of finding the right guys and balancing the roster which I think both teams have done really well so far

Tarasenko is gonna be as good or better defensively as Perron was.. guaranteed

Wings are not any better Defensively.. they’ve made less than lateral moves and will have an injection from Ed
Not sure if the Wings raised the ceiling a lot - could be great or a wash but I think their floor is better looking than last season, they should be right there at the end if they get a good start.

Go back and watch Kane's return to Chicago and watch the overtime goal. Kane pushed Walman out of the way during his celebration and there was a look on his face I won't forget. That's when Walman started going downhill in my opinion.
