@@Tuberuser187 not true. America fired SEVENTY ONE Tomahawks at that base. Only TWENTY THREE of them even reached Syrian air space. The others were shot down over the Mediterranean Sea. And that was with the outdated SOVIET S-200 system in place. And the airfield was NOT destroyed.just Four hour later, that airfield was up and bombing terrorist sites.

From your own words. The tomahawk's follow the ground turning and twisting like a pack of hounds. Everything shot down with the Tor including the drone was high up. Some over clouds. Tomahawk's I can assure you wouldn't be so easy. I pray we never have to find out and stay friends. Great show. Respect. P.s. I am sure a volly of Harpoons, harm's or even MGM-140s would be direct to the Tor systems first.

98 out of 111 tommahawks were shot down easily.. by pantsir S1 and Tor2 in Damascus, ones that got through, had no missile defense system outside that range

You probably confusing the Shayrat attack from april 2017 vs Damascus/Homs attack in 2018. On the second one most of Tomahawk were intercepted.

What they don't say is the tors would be attacked before the cruise nissles were launched. There are weapons that can take on the TOR no problem. They over simplified the attack to match what was shot at the Syrian air base,which had no air defence system that could take on the tomahawk. They fully know that any attack would first have a SEAD mission to take out the air defence systems before attacking the target

uhh there exists a naval variant of the Tor called the 3K95 "Kinzhal" NATO reporting name SA-N-9 Gauntlet. it uses the same 9m330 missile as the land based Tor system. the only "problem" that would arise is that you most likely would have to integrate it with the Ship's radar systems. which depending on the architecture of the software could be easy or very hard.

@@thepreserver83 i am quite aware the Tor has its own radar. you would still integrate it into the ships overal sensor suite though. which is exactly what they do with the Naval variant of Tor. yes you could put a ground based Tor on the deck of a ship, and it would work with its own radar. but we were talking about a ship integrated Tor variant. one that is built into the ship structure. and is connected with the rest of the ships defensive systems.

​@@LodewijkVrije Tor can be integrated into ships, but not in EVERY ship. Some times is needed only for certain of time to be used in ship, some times maybe used like reinforcement into SOME ships. The second reason is that Tor is over 45 years old technology. If has not been integrated until now into ships, then for sure can not be in future. Again, IF IS MUST, then tor can be build temporary into the deck of ships for certain of time, so is not needed Tor control panel or radars to be integrated into ship's central control system or radars. Third reason: we, me and you, also others which assume same thing like you are, we can not know better than Russian Army why they not done until now, nor we can know more that designer of Tor, but how i can understand is that Tor can not be used to shot on the move over 25 km/h. Im aware about Kinzhal, but i dont know the difference, nor i like to know. Simply, Tor is old tech. Russia now is building 2 more new AA short range systems, more powerful than Tor, more powerful than Pantsir, and more powerful than Sosna.

Armenia has only S - 300PT and S - 300PS. Also Buk M. They have no other air defense systems.That is, Armenia has only long-range and medium-range air defense.

if you know where to look, its easy for 60 s AA systems to shot it down, they told the tor operator where to look for the drone, capturing on the tv camera is done manual, no air to air radar would pick it up, its too small. Tor was operating in azerbaijan in the latest conflict, was destroyed multiple times by some small drones.

Proven only good at shooting large passenger aircraft. Against drones and Ukrainian cold war era jets? Nada.

just imagine you have 20 cruise missiles as a threat and then "reasamble" the situation by having less then 10 but greeting them with 16 tor lol. i love how they praise theire shit

Tor missile system > Pantsir missile system. This is a fact, has been proven in Syria. Tor did great job, while Pantsir failed hard.. i mean really hard... I wouldnt trust Pantsir to protect S-400, Russia should change their mind, use Tor instead of Pantsir to protect S-400 in Syria.

Pantsir is in it's own class, the most combat tested short range system in the world with no competitors. Any anti-air system susceptible to saturation attack, no matter how advanced it is. The best existing western systems tested on saturation attack consisting of 3 incoming drones. Laser systems, which potentially in the future will solve some drone issues, would cost 2-3 orders of magnitude more and won't available to everyone.

That proves absolutely nothing...the quality of the crew and tactics make. All these Tor and Pantsir we've seen in the hands of substandard forces were completely out in the open, isolated, no battle-management radar, etc. This is a point-defense SAM system, NOT a miracle machine.

Cruise missiles travel 5 to 10meters above the ground. The decoy missiles travelling ahead of the cruise modules would expose and target the Tor systems. All those those Russian Tor.missile defence systems would be knocked out before they could launch their missiles . Game over.

If the US and Russia stopped interfering in other countries, then there is no reason why they can't have a relationship as the US and Europe do. Hard communism is no longer part of Russia today. Get out of the Ukraine but keep the Crimea which has been part of Russia for centuries. End sanctions against Russia and get on with business. If we sanctioned Russia for the Crimea, we should sanction the US for it's attacks on Iraq. The US and Russia are both Christian based European societies. We may have to wait until post Putin for it to happen though.

Incorrect. It was an SA-11 BUK-M1 SAM that shot down MH17 and an unknown system used by Iran to shoot down the Ukrainian airlines flight. Likely a BUK system or KUB system. Possibly even an upgraded SA-2, SA-3, or an SA-5.
