Episode 89. The BTR: The Unsinkable Armored Vehicle

Ғылым және технология

The main hero of this episode of Combat Approved is a vehicle with one of the best cross-country abilities in the world. A good old armored personnel carrier. A military vehicle that is equally easy to drive on a paved highway and on actual off-road. With an armored hull that protects against bullets and shrapnel. But one of the most amazing qualities of the BTR is its ability to swim. This is a truly unique option for a heavy armored vehicle. The BTR was invented as a vehicle that could get soldiers to the battlefield in the shortest possible time, but as it happens, these all-terrain vehicles often end up in the very thick of it. Combat Approved will test the most advanced armored vehicles, adopted by the Russian army, and tell about the future novelties. In an exclusive interview, the developers shared information about the features of the new Boomerang armored personnel carriers.

    I also like the risks the talent is taking, climbing on the rear as the 30mm gun is firing live rounds! The Russians are much more of risk-takers in these pro-military kinds of popular media pieces. I think that's the secondary message being broadcast in this show. We Americans have nothing like this on our television, showing off the excitement of military service and risky combat. And we are worse off as a nation because of it. Still, this stuff beats the lousy Soviet-era military media I had to watch decades ago whilst in university studying to fight the Cold War. This show has great production values.

    BTR-82 is in my opinion the best IFV platform of the world, mobility wise it has no rivals and also the 30mm autocannon is a friggin' beast. Would not want to be on any battlefield getting charged by a platoon of these that take position, open heavy fire on you while 30+ Russian soldiers storm you on foot.

  • @treuenbrietzen

    @treuenbrietzen

    The BTR is´nt really an IFV... it is a AP nothing more... the Russians had to use this cause they don´t really have any alternatives like the bumerang which isn´t in production yet, so just an interim solution and that a really bad one... the gun is lacking, the infantry entrance is worse, cause the infantry have to get out through the sides and this doesnt cover anything, so in combat situations normally the btr have to fight with the front to the enemy line... . The BTR doesn´t really have protection, the front can withstand 12,7mm guns, these vehicles doesnt have mine protection like other modern IFV

    LIVING BEING IS OUR RACE, MANKIND IS OUR RELIGION, HINDU,MUSLIM,SIKH,CHRISTAIN, THERE IS NO SEPARATE RELIGION ALMIGHTY GOD KABIR is the father of all souls that JESUS, MOHAMMAD, GURU NANAK, VEDH was telling in BIBLE, QURAN, GURU GRANTHA SAHEB .. In OLD Orthodox Jewish Bible KABIR is mentioned...KABIR means (GREAT or MIGHTY GOD) in hebrew...but when translated in different languages translator removed KABIR word..... www.jagatgururampalji.org/en/bible Quran written in arabic has also KABIR word....KABIR means SUPREME in arabic..... www.jagatgururampalji.org/en/quran-sharif In vedh also KABIR is mentioned..... www.jagatgururampalji.org/en/supreme-god-hinduism U will get surprised that in Holy book of SIkh called PRAANSANGALI…. GURU NANAK himself described that LORD KABIR is his Guru and Lord KABIR met him..and in GURU GRANTHA SAHEB Guru Nanak called Lord kabir as kartar (GOD)..but todays Sikh says that GURU NANAK had no Guru........ www.jagatgururampalji.org/en/shri-guru-granth-sahib Just by reading holy books it is impossible to get depth knowledge of Holy text because we are just a living beings.. In vedhas also KABIR is mentioned...our brain isnot capable and doesnot understands the secrets behind the words and world.....JESUS AND MOHAMMAD both were aware of LORD KABIR but later followers were not able to get depth knowledge .....In bible it is written that Jesus was son of FATHER... then WHO IS THE FATHER? Brother/SISTER LORD KABIR has send the messenger in present time in the form of SAINT RAMPALJI MAHARAJ... BIBLE, QURAN, VEDH, GURU GRANTHA SAHEB are holy books of Christain, Hindu, MUlsim, SIKh & all these holy books are suggesting one ALMIGHTY GOD KABIR but today preachers of different religion doesnot understand the secrets thats why HUMAN society cannot get full benefits from ALMIGHTY GOD...As a result more and more people are becoming non believer..... … Any kinds of DISEASES(MENTAL, PHYSCIAL, SPIRITUAL), PARANORMAL ACTIVITY,CURSE,BLACK MAGIC,GHOST is cured by Getting Diksya (mantra ) from SAINT RAMPALJI MAHARAJ..Note: No charge is taken. .one can get MANTRA dikshya from INTERNET or BY PHONE CALL after getting dikshya evil things cannot hover around the person....ANY KINDS OF DIESEASES AIDS, CANCER , KIDNEY FAILURE IS HEALED BY SAINT RAMPALJI MAHARAJ......BUT ONE SHOULD NOT VIOLATE GODS RULES after becoming DISCIPLE of SAINT RAMPALJI MAHARAJ - NO MOVIES, NO SONGS,NO MEAT, NO EGG, NO DRUGS( ALCOHOL, CIGARATEES, TOBACCO, MARIHUANA, COCAINE) -NO ADULETERY, NO PORN, NO POLYGAMY, NO PRE MARRIAGE SEX, -NO GAMBLING, NO STEAL -NO ABORTION Download free GYAN GANGA ,(WAY OF LIVING) JINEKI RAHE book on www.jagatgururampalji.org/en/publications www.jagatgururampalji.org/gyan_ganga_english.pdf www.jagatgururampalji.org/way-of-living.pdf WWW.JAGATGURURAMPALJI.ORG or CALL OR SMS ON FOLLOWING NUMBERS TO GET GYAN GANGA , JINEKI RAHE(WAY OF LIVING) , GEETA TIMRO GYAN AMRIT FREE OF COST THROUGH OUT THE WORLD AND FREE COURIEIR SERVICE IS AVAILABLE For more spiritual knowledge Please Download free GYAN GANGA, WAY OF LIVING( JINEKI RAHE) book written by SAINT RAMPAJI MAHARAJ on WWW.JAGATGURURAMPALJI.ORG or CALL OR SMS YOUR FULL NAME,ADDRESS,PHONE NUMBER AND BOOK NAME ON FOLLOWING NUMBERS TO GET GYAN GANGA , JINEKI RAHE(WAY OF LIVING) , GEETA TIMRO GYAN AMRIT BOOK FREE OF COST THROUGH OUT THE WORLD AND FREE COURIEIR SERVICE IS AVAILABLE.. What a joke. They brag about putting in step for the side door so that troops attempting to squeeze out don't get run over by their OWN vehicle. What a technological breakthrough! And then there's the ordeal by fire. It drags a flaming compact car past some burning tires. Wow, I've seen family sedans escaping through California wild fires endure much worse conditions than that. Fortunately they switched from petrol to diesel fuel. The Muhajideen in Afghanistan in the 1980's said they loved the BTRs because they burned so well. We'll see how they hold up in Ukraine.

    Neat little vehicle... but when the rear doors are also the gas-tanks...... or was that only the early model BTR's that had that?
