I am so enjoying this. I was visiting the UK from Australia 12 months ago and my daughter and I did a narrow boat trip on the same canal. This is bringing back so many wonderful memories.

Lovely! There's a good butchers near the bridge and a pasty shop the other side (Newbury). Successful journey and Mojo got some ground time..Excellent

I’ve walked ferrets and goats but cats are most definitely the hardest to walk on a harness. One of my late cats used to just lay flat and refuse to move followed by a dash for cover. Mojo is so beautiful 😻 really enjoyed this video 👍🏻

Many years ago I was part of a team entering the Kennet & Avon canal raft race from Hungerford to Newbury, raising money for charity. We had 8 people in two teams of 4 at a time paddling our raft (lots of contestants took part) down (or up?) the canal. When we reached a lock we had to lift the raft out and round the lock and back into the canal. It took us several hours to complete the race but got to the end. Much fun had by all. This was when we lived in Reading, before we moved to Fareham.

Really enjoying this series. Trouble is much more than when you were on board narrowboats, this wide beam is making me yearn for our holidays on the Norfolk Broads. Ed’s boat is identical to the one we used to hire except a bigger berth. Oh I loved those holidays!

By the time you get this you’ll probably have passed through but Lidl and Tescos are both right on the canal, I know which I would use if I had to . I wish I’d known you were coming I’d have baked a cake or something , as the song goes . Would have been good to meet you both , was there only yesterday myself .

In France it’s called “Penicheting”. So wonderful! Dozens of écluses to cross on a péniche…lovely towns, villages, restaurants, boulangeries and nice countryside French.

Hi had a boat for years we had a fantastic time going up and down the canal and in and out of the locks but it is easier to push locks open with your back that's what the canal people dib in the old days😅 have a fantastic time we moved down to Cornwall no canals in cornwall😢

Wondering if there was some anti widebeam stree on this trip. A 25ft puppy lead should sufficiently shackle Le Chat while allowing some freedom for exercise. Really enjoyed the tactile 'hello sailor' in, innuendo. Sorry you you had to go to the Tesco. Surely you should make a Vobes and Julia app where subscribers can bring you local things from local people while on your travels to neatly sidestep the corporations. You could call it the VAJ app. I'll get my coat.

Not to 'ruin' the idyllic narrow boat tour, but a rather telling sight happened to catch my eye [@08:36] upon your entering the supermarket parking lot; The white van from the West Berks Foodbank (possibly being loaded), sporting the unmistakable, revealing and shameful reality of the British political system: ✔relieving hunger . . . ✔restoring dignity . . . . ✔reviving hope . . . . . - while in the background, a huge poster showing a cut up juicy steak! . . . . You just _can't_ make this stuff up! Very glad to see my fave English couple out and about again (for some reason Y.T. has 'hidden' your wonderful vlogs for me for a good while now! . . . )! 💓🙏
