Entrepreneurs Cutthroat Decisions Alienate & Frustrate the Dragons | Dragons' Den

Ойын-сауық

While obtaining one of Banksy's famous art pieces may be something you'd want to treasure for years to come, the next entrepreneur sold his whole collection for his business venture. Next into The Den is Brian Smillie and Euan McCreath. Mr. Smillie revealed his plans to “eliminate” the app store completely and help business developers create their own apps without being beholden to Apple or Android.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

@@rendogsbiggestfan Sure but I said most apps are built this way. I'm not talking about what already exists. There are millions of apps on app stores, many built years ago. This technology is new so it would be ridiculous to think that most apps use it. You don't even need to research to disprove that. The technology is incredibly limiting but most apps do not require the benefits of native hardware. Most apps don't do heavy duty computation on the client side, rather, most operations are done via some sort of rest API and servers do the heavy lifting. It is easier to hire people to build apps this way as there are plenty of full web stack devs and it can be built once for all platforms. Businesses want to minimize costs so they will gladly take an insignificant performance cost.

Alan I completely understand why he accepted that deal. I acknowledge that this approach is the school of thought that many people adopt, that “if it makes money, I’m involved no matter what” mentality. However that doesn’t negate the fact that this school of thought has an effect on ones standing on morality, honour and principles, Peter is at the stage where no matter what business venture he involves himself in, it’s not going to make him afford something which he can’t afford already, which is why many other successful entrepreneurs such as Deborah adopt the other school of thought, where she wouldn’t get involved because the sugar levels in your product were just a little too high. It wasn’t Deborah I was referring to, I was referring to the fact that the man clearly said that he’s happy to accept a deal of 5% at 125,000 if someone offered it to him. When Tej followed up on this and accepted the offer, he abruptly, rudely and arrogantly declined, he could have just waited out for the others to make the same offer. On top of that, when Jenny asked him if he’s here for a particular dragon, he mentioned he wanted offers from all of them, which was a lie, because when offers from Tej and Touker came, he declined there offers, he declined touker before touker even said anything. All these factors would put off someone who holds these principles and morals a lot more dear to their heart than money. If your colleague was insulted on national television but you still go into business with the one who insulted him, then I’m sorry, you have no backbone.
