STORY:
Reuben Smith was not a wealthy man. He lived on Main Street in a boarding house and passed his leisure time reading the evening paper.
Nothing seemed eccentric about him.
That is, until he died...
THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

It would be interesting to see if there are any old photos of him before he was buried.

All those reporters and none of them thought to bring a camera?? That would have been a great memento mori photograph
Ron, your the best storyteller ever...thank you for taking us along with you.
I was laughing while you were looking for an opening to see in. I was like yes, Ron is doing what we all want to do. His chair may still be in decent shape, but his bones are brittle and probably scattered a bit from falling down.

Another good one. Living in a rooming house, one would think he didn't have much money but apparently he had to cover his burial with all the "specialities".
If you're morbid, Ron, then we are too. Most of us would be right in there with you to see what's in there. This one was creepy and fascinating at the same time. I really wonder what Mr. Smith's real-life story was. Eccentric for sure! Great work, Ron. You never disappoint.

Ron, couldn't help but think, when you were down on the ground,'I wonder what he would say if someone walked-up on him?' Also, I almost cut my finger at the end...I was cutting apples for a pie, while watching and listening to this vlog..looked down and then back up as you changed Ruebans face! Caught me off guard!!! Lol!!! Thanks for a good story and a nice scare. Take care.

"just trying to see if l could get a snake camera in there for a better look!!" Is what he should say 😂😂😂, but a graveyard Karen would be awful taxing, can you imagine!?.
Great effects at the end Ron. I sure wasn't expecting Rubén to change into a vampire all of a sudden, and it startled me. Thanks for the story and the scare. 🐈⬛🎃👻🕷🐈⬛🎃👻🕷🐈⬛🎃👻🕷
Darn. So close, yet so far with the camera. I would have taken the money to sit in there. It's not like the old guy could hurt me or anything. Loved the end of the video. Thank you, Ron. Blessings from Michigan. By the way, I watched a video where a man dug up a grave in Poland. SO interesting to see what was/wasn't left.

I would have done it too, but would have wanted a lantern or oil lamp with me. No sitting in the dark with him! I would have sat and read to him the newspapers that he had missed after passing, lol!
Rueben, it might be said, was a tad eccentric. To say the least! Ron, you began creeping me out via Rueben’s request to have a woman sit with him all night. Whoa! I want to look inside too, Ron!! Love the pumpkins on some of the headstones in the cemetery. 🎃
It's interesting that the newspapers described him as a freak. He was just ahead of his time.
If ol Ruben been sittin in that iron chair all these years... I bet his bum is sore... Mr. James sure thought highly of himself! Hahaha no woman would collect on that sack of money to go sit with him... I wonder if he cheated at checkers *wink wink* hahaha. Imagine getting a permit today for that little funeral parade! Great story Ron! I love the quirky ones! Safe travels my friend, and Blessed be!
Your not morbid Ron! I,d like to see in there as well my friend. The suspense has got me now. Shucks!❤😂 Jeez Ron, that ending made my cat fly in the air off my stomach!😂

Ron, this was just great and yes, I wondered what it looked like inside as well. Just a darn good story and Reuben , although a tad eccentric, sounded harmless to me, I kind of had a spot in my heart for him. I wonder if I could have summoned the nerve to sit for a night in there with him??? I just may have done it, if assured I could take a lantern in or some source of light and also, someone would come to let me out at a specified time in the morning! And BTW, Ron.....you really freaked me out with that sudden change to the photograph ! It was totally unexpected! 😮🎃😮

Thank you Ron - love the atmosphere of the misty graveyard! I've been struggling a bit recently but find these videos fascinating and it takes my mind off things. Good to watch on a winters night! Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃
We are all holding our breath just hoping you can find an opening.
Ron, you do tend to get rather morbid around Halloween, 🎃 and I love it. As long as you give respect also, as you always do. Thanks for doing the stories and traveling that the rest of us can't do.
I love cemeteries & in my mind I’m always looking underground/into. Intriguing & I think you feel the same.
You are NOT morbid, Ron! You, Sir, are TENACIOUS!! And we love you for it!😅
Wow, the weather really sets up the atmosphere, beautiful monuments made back then❤
I'd love to see inside. Thank you Ron for making this Halloween season fun and exploratory. This is my favorite holiday of the season.
Interesting story. I always wonder when people make these kind of arrangements what do they think death is. These arrangements are just for them. They’re not on display to continue to let people know who they were when alive. I would have loved to have talked to the paper boy. Thanks Ron for another fun story.👻🎃💀
Always look forward to seeing every walk about you do Ron. Thank you.

Love those type of stories! You got me yet again Ron with that creepy laugh and then the scream at the end it just made my blood run cold for a second 😂 Love from Newfoundland 🇨🇦
Amesbury isn't far from where I grew up. Our high school football team played theirs every year. I've never heard this strange story before, but we do have a number of eccentrics in Massachusetts! As always, thanks for sharing, Ron. You're the BEST!!!
We’re all curious! I would be both excited and grossed out to see him! 😂😂
You may want to return with the snake cam and look inside for us por favor señor Ron! Very intriguing 🧐
I should've known better, but that ending gave me a jolt.

This was great! If I was back home, I'd buy a snake camera just to see this for you. TY!!!
lol Ron leave it to you to make us gasp at the end I love it , I think he’s slumped down holding his head so he can read his newspaper ❤
Back in the 80s, I used to get a morning and an evening paper from the Indianapolis Star. No internet do they had lots to print!
We’re all with you to want to look inside…😂 I just love how people actually carried out his wishes…not just him, but all of “weird “ requests from other people…it’s wonderful..
Ron i think all your fans would really like to see inside that tomb. Always great and interesting videos you bring us.
I would have done the same....looked for every crack or crevice in the structure to get a chance of a glimpse inside. Great minds think alike (?) 🤔 Such a great tale. Thanks aga, Ron, for another spellbinder. Your series leading up to Halloween have been fantastic!
If he's in a sarcophagus, you would only see that if you looked inside.

Great jump scare at the end.
Wow! What a story Ron!! Salutes from Graciela In Tampa, Florida.🎉🎉🎉
I wish I knew you would be in Massachusetts. I'm from the Berkshires and there is a cemetery in Stockbridge, Massachusetts where some of my family is buried. My Great Grandfather (x5) died serving in the civil war and his body was returned to Massachusetts from Virginia. He was in the 57th Massachusetts, C company. He's buried in the same row that leads to the "Sedgwick Circle". That's where "Mum Bet" Elizabeth Freeman is buried. She sued her owners for her freedom in the 1700's and won. The last I saw, her stone was in amazing condition. Norman Rockwell is also buried there. Along with many civil war vets I also believe some patriots from the American Revolution are buried there as well. It was established in 1748. The cemetery is located across from the Red Lion Inn located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. An extremely interesting history there.
Ron! You scared the junk outta me at the end there!!!! 😂 I would love to see inside too! I’m morbid like that! That one and also the one of the bride in her rocking chair!
What a cool story!! I'm right up the way in Maine 🇺🇸 I am with Ron! Would love to see inside!

He must have thought by sitting up in a chair with his newspaper beside him, he would live immortally and not die like Pharaohs brought favorite things with him for the afterlife to enjoy.
To @ FOTF Ron 'I like it I like it . . . I like the words you say and all the things you do' ❤ 💘 😂 😅 😊 haha as the song goes 🎵 🎶 and perhaps 'Fanny Brice' even takes it further to say 'show me the ring and I'll jump thru'. Thanks heaps ❤ 😊!
