The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

That drive into the cemetery is quite similar to a place here in Rhode Island that’s called Hells Gate. It’s about a mile long dirt road through very thick woods and comes out to an old abandoned property with a burnt down house a car from the 1950s riddled with bullet holes. There’s even a small graveyard on the property!

1788 was only when Australia was founded. It must be because of the extreme cold that the headstones in America degrade so much. Marble ones here, tend to be in really great condition & limestone ones differ between good & bad. I love graveyards I always have found them fascinating places. There is one half an hour from home that is supposed to be very haunted 👻. I think I can attest to that. Picton a town nearby, has an old colonial pub called the George iv, it used to be better & had a micro brewery. Opposite the pub is a graveyard and church. When my son was a toddler, he screamed all the way through the graveyard, till I took him back over the road. He stopped immediately, I took him back, briefly twice & he did it again. Since then, he has been terrified of graveyards.

It does look like a haunted cemetery. I can imagine ghosts walking around at night.

Beautiful countryside and other than the freight train looks very peaceful. Again Ron and his storytelling makes you feel like you are there.

Apparently Moon Is a Norman name, originally. Those white marble headstones are wonderful, you don't see those much.
