I enjoy Oddie's channel as well, Ron. Like you, he comes up with some fantastic stories - many of them vintage. Catherine's tale is an interesting one. Glad she was acquitted of the "crime." In my opinion, Luigi got exactly what he deserved. No mercy for child abusers!!!

Great video, Ron. It's not often I like to hear that someone was killed, but in this case, I'm so glad she got him. It's funny how they seemed to make what he did, her sin. She shamed the family even when she did nothing wrong? I'm glad those days are gone

If I found the right person, Catherine (Sciappa Fino) De Ninno passed away in Florida in 1992. She was born in 1910. So she may be interred by her husband with no marker? I’ll do some more digging.

I was taking a ride out in the country Friday night, and saw a very old graveyard on both sides of the road, with a church. I told my husband I want to go there one day soon. And I, as I’m sure others do, was thinking of you when I saw it. Sorry, not in a creepy way. So don’t think that please. ❤ 👍

What a dramatic story!! Poor Catherine, first being raped as a child by a disgusting creep family member. Then she marries and gets blackmailed and her husband tosses her out. I don't blame her for doing what she did- that monster ruined her life and it was a blame the victim scenario afterwards at least for a while. I hope that she was able to find happiness when her husband did the right thing finally and took her back. I wonder if she's buried next to her husband but unmarked? I have followed Oddie for a few years.

My wife's grandmother was a DiNinno, whose parents came from Palermo, Sicily at the turn of the century. Her parents ran a small grocery store, and they lived upstairs. She earned an Economics degree in 1941. She was a very smart lady who I really liked and admired. She married a young US Army Air Force Lt., who flew in WWII. Damn, that generation was amazing.

I love Oddie's channel. As for Catherine's husband: what a heel! At that time though she really didn't have much choice but to accept him back in her life. What options were available for a 16 year old girl? He obviously didn't take his vows seriously. "For better or worse" ring a bell? I don't know how she could have lived with such a man after he basically threw her to the wolves. What kind of a man doesn't support his wife when she's being blackmailed by a criminal like Luigi? I wouldn't want to be buried next to him either.

Being raped at the age of 12 in her own home was horrific especially in the era and being an immigrant. Actually glad the rapist got his punishment. I wonder if she's buried somewhere else after her husband died. Maybe she moved with her children.

Her Father Antonio Scippa spent several months in Prison, he would then became ill and die. She apparently died in Miami from Alzheimers in 1992, aged 82. Such a sad story, but I'm glad it at least worked out for her , and se saw no prison time.

Hi Ron, the only thing I could find out about Catherine was that she had Alzeimers towards the end of her life and she is interred in the same cemetery as her husband. She died in 1992. Maybe they did not give her a stone to protect her from vandalism ? The tragedy was that her attack was covered up by her Mother due to the social stigma, and today Luigi would have been behind bars for the rest of his life! I hope! Thanks for the story.😀

Glad to see the justice system do the right thing. Traumatized 12 yr old. So awful how her life was ruined by that monster. Once an attack happens, it causes depression and anxiety and PTSD for the victim.

I’ve been following Obsolete Oddity for long before I found you. No surprise I’d like both -the mysterious past and strangeness of fate are in both channels. Its good to have one story that turned out so well. I didn’t expect that - I expected she would have been jailed for life. To hell with that man who never earned the title ‘uncle’. I wonder if her baby by uncle Leo did ok. Perhaps she recoiled from that child because it reminder her of her assault and almost murder. Thanks heaps for another marvel of a tale of human existence
