I may have missed it, but did you try a Strength test in the Locker Room to get +1 to scavenging? Not saying it would make a difference with the rest of your rotten luck, but a even a crappy weapon that might have done d6 instead of d4 could have been helpful.

Also, I totally get the hopelessness of fighting against -d4 armor with a d4 weapon. That's why the optional rule to always do at least 1 damage with a hit is in there. You lose a few points at the endgame tally for using an optional rule to make it easier, but it's probably worth it if you even get that far.

Yeah pretty sure I missed that Strength test for +1 scavenging. As you say - you never know, it might have got me something handy! I've gone for the optional base level of 1 damage every combat round for the next playthrough. Its going better!
Hey there! Scott C. McDonald here. First of all, thank you for checking out my game! Second of all, I uploaded the Wasteland Degenerates character sheet. While you probably won't use the whole thing (the vehicle section doesn't come into play until late in the game), it should cover everything, more or less.

Cheers Scott - you're welcome, I really like what you've done with the Dark Fort format! I'll check out the character sheet later!

@@davezelzer I believe that character sheet is available when you download the game from itch.io!
My Buddy! Excited to play!
I have been waiting for something like this to be released for the MB system. I will give it a try and will check out the campaign when it goes live.
Instant buy! Gonna bring it to the table straight away! Huge Dark Fort Fan

Whoop whoop! That does seem to be the likeliest outcome in this game 😂
The algorithm must be fed, it sees all. (Also, you roll worse than I do, which is saying something, bad luck!)

Ha thank you 🙂 yeah rough dice rolls - definitely gonna do another one for this game - see if we can experience a bit more of what it's got to offer!

@@dranorter Thanks for the heads up. Then from this day forth I shall call it Dancing Al (Al Gore Rhythmic) instead. Got to make a bad pun in the face of adversity!
Thanks 👍
D4's really are the most boring dice to roll, EVER!! 😂

@@lone_adventurer "truncated tetrahedral d4" should get you somewhere, The Dice Lab makes some.

@@lone_adventurer I had attempted to link Crystal Caste dice; they make excellent d4 barrel-type dice. I guess it didn't like the link.
Once again, with those stat roles, it seems to be the "curse of the camera". Although, on the positive side, you've basically rolled the average with those zeroes in place. So there's that at least.

That is true! I don't mind the swingy nature of character creation - doesn't necessarily make for an action-packed playthrough though :D

@@lone_adventurer Your last point is very true but they can't all be bangers! lol
I downloaded the game and am planning to get started... Is it possible to list the dice I need? I don't have much of a collection of dice at this point in my hobby-ing... Ready to head off to the local game store and purchase what I'm missing... I know the various dice are listed, but I want to make sure!! BTW... excellent playthrough/instructional!! Thanks!
@lone_adventurer

Haha no worries 🙂 you need D6, D20, D4, D8, D10. You tend to be able to buy sets of dice that include all these, along with D12 and another D10 that you can roll with the other D10 to get a number between 1 and a 100. Just grab one of those sets and you'll be all set!

So, you really don't need an update from me, but here it comes, none the less... went to my excellent, local game shop, found a set containing EXACTLY the dice needed, and on top of that, the set is an original exclusive to the shop-- the dice, to celebrate one of the things we're known for-- cheeseheads (from Green Bay Wisconsin, so it's a natural, I guess) all the dice have small cheeseheads visible inside... very cool and I'm quite pleased by the whole situation... Goofy and quirky, but I love it! Again, thanks for your help!

@@davezelzer You're welcome and thanks for the update - sounds like you nailed it with your dice choice!
If it were me I would re roll on negative rolls. Because any human who sucked that bad would not be a decker. Just saying you'd die as soon as you hit the street. Its not realistic to to be adventuring with super low stats.
Character creation is bad, reminds me of old Fighting Fantasy books where we knew if we'd stand a chance or not based on the skill numbers we got. So basically most people (kids) would cheat until they got the numbers they wanted. I much prefer classes with unique sets of starting numbers or, a set of numbers (easy, normal or hard) we assign to the skills of our choice.
@lone_adventurer
Ай бұрын
Yeah...not sure it is necessarily bad. This - in my understanding - is how character creation works in all Mork Borg stuff. It's definitely swingy, and I like the idea of having easy / normal / hard settings. But it's just a little give-away game, and there's a lot here for not much (if any) money 🙂

You can "cheat" in every solo rpg game in every aspect. So it doesnt really matter that it takes the FF style

Some people find it hard to not think of a Character rolling low stats as a failure. I sort of understand it, but moving away from this mindset made me step away from 3E/Pathfinder/5E. When the player(s) approach an RPG with a collective mindset of 'how' you overcome obstacles rather than a 'if' you overcome obstacles, I get so much more enjoyment, and even when the character dies in the most pathetic way, I've still won and had a great time. That's not the same in everyone's head, but just wanted to say that the above comment's thinking ain't universal, even though it is understandable. @lone_adventurer , I'm gonna buy and try this one. Thank you for showing it.
