I love this song and adored this group. Still love John Ford Coley. Will see him in concert June 30th in Manchester Tennessee. He is 74 and still writing music and doing concerts. Very humble and good man! I bought a couple of his new cds earlier this year(fabulous) and he called me personally to see if I wanted them autographed and to whom. We talked on phone for 15 minutes. Awesome good man and very talented!!! Thank you Chad. They both grew up singing in choir in church. They weren’t about free love. Very spiritual guys. John is a classically trained pianist and guitarist too. Great musicians and writers. Would LOVE to see you dig into their music. Lots of great music. England Dan and John Ford Coley went separate ways in 80’s. England Dan wanted to concentrate on country music but John was more into pop music. England Dan had a successful career in country but died in 2009 from cancer. John did more musical writing and even did some acting in 80’s and 90’s. He has continued to write new music. Has had 3-4 albums out in last few years. GREAT MUSIC!! If anyone interested this is John singing Love is the Answer a few years ago without England Dan. LOVE THIS ONE!!! LIVE PERFORMANCE!! They sound so good together. Very smooth and mellow with great harmonies. Glad you put up the lyrics Chad as it brings more meaning to the song. I don't know much of their work as I wasn't a fan then but I am interested in finding out more now. Thanks x

Oh yeah! I remembered only that i liked them and that they were soft rock. Love this song & had forgotten all about it. I always took it as romantic but now I hear both ways - a Christian message & romantic too. Yes, more meaningful than ever these days!❤❤❤

This is only the third or fourth song I've heard from them. I heard it for the first time not too long ago and really liked it. I've listened to it several times since then and, I think, I like it more and more every time I listen to it. I had the same kind of thoughts about the lyrics - that they seem to have a Christian vibe to them. But, I think, you hit the hammer on the nail when you said it sounds like a gospel song. After you said that, I thought it totally did. I completely agree as well. Love is the answer. And, no matter what, we need to love one another. I love hearing this from a non-Christian band. Even they knew what real, true love is and weren't afraid to put it in one of their songs. Great choice for a Valentine's Day song! I look forward to your other two reactions this weekend!

I believe Todd Rundgren wrote it and recorded it first. He definitely was a free spirit so I think this is about love in the general sense of loving all of mankind.
