I won't say it peaked in s2, but I can agree at some point tho. I can say that s2 has the most stuffs that Ed can analyze and find it enjoyable. S2 is a messy one so I think Ed's gonna get his another Michelin star in s2.

@@traffy001 which season is better depends on what you are looking for. I remember as a teen being really bored and depressed by s2, and missing the more comedy heavy style of season 1. But after rewatch few years later, i found s2 to be much more mature and nuanced and therefore better in my eyes.

@@Miki_Naz I totally agree. Season 1 drew me in, but the nuance of Season 2 is what captivated me most about this series. The comedy of season 1 was amazing but the drama of S2, interlaced with the signature witty dialogue of season 1 was more compelling and transformed a fun comedy with witty characters to a story, I truly felt engaged me as a teen. I really love how Hachiman from the S1-S3 developed into a more mature person at the end of the series and totally resonated with me when it ended in 2020. When I was already out of Highschool. Suffice to say, I'm really excited to see Ed analyse all of the characters as the series progresses.

I unironically used to greet people with "Yahallo/Yaharro" and it became so normal that I only just now remember that it's from Oregairu.

I watched Oregairu right at the beginning of 2020 when i was 14 years old,i was getting bullied and a certain global event happened and i can confirm that i was literally like "He just like me frfr" I also want to add to this that i am truly grateful that you are reacting this. Oregairu has been probably the anime that has defined my young life the most considering how deeply it touched me and resonated with me. Embarking on this Journey with all of you guys will be fascinating for me,as it will also be very nostalgic and reflective. This is because of the fact that i spent the last 3-4 years in sheer isolation with that exact same mentality that was also created by bullying and instability. I am happy to say that i am at a point now where my mindset and understanding about society has become much much more nuanced and that i am getting myself out there. I can't describe how much i regret these years of isolatoon based on cynical mindset that i only created because of fear. So yeah,this will be like watching my 14-16 year old self and reflecting upon the past which will be fascinating So looking forward to the cooking btw. This series will be a culinary masterpiece,similar to Oshi no Ko (though beating Oshi no Ko is rough)

In the beginning of the Episode in the German translation he says „They have fallen into the belief that their actions mean anything“ This somehow got me interested into this Anime

Amazing analysis. Just hearing all of these explorations from the first episode alone, I've gained much more appreciation for Oregairu, which was already high to begin with. I used to think less fondly over the first season compared to the heavier plot points in seasons 2 and 3, but now I see how the themes were very much present already from episode one. While not as obvious since season 1 leans more towards the comedy side, the core message of the story is already being setup in little ways like the word choices and the little interactions between characters.

The second we started talking about the table at around 30 minutes, I know that I would learn more and gain more appreciation about one of my favorite series. Thanks man.

2 seasons and 12 more ep of this. You're not ready. There's a reason this is my #1 favorite anime. Heck even peak fiction/masterpiece (at least IMO). I'm new here so I'm not sure if you've reacted to Bungou Stray Dogs, but if you haven't I would highly recommend it. There's a video on it that I watched recently called "This Anime Portrays Mental Health PERFECTLY" it's a great video, but a lot of spoilers so yeah.

@@psyculturists the character dynamics of this show is very complex. Each have their own ways of perceiving and judgement. Especially how the dialogues of each characters (especially our MC Hachiman) are deeply philosophical.

Seeing the shadow archetypes now and during Gushing, then thinking about it a bit, Creator/Destroyer feels like it absolutely applies to me. It's not even entirely acts of one or the other, I tend to use acts of destruction in my creations. Smashed a painting frame apart before re-attaching the canvas. Power drills as alternatives to brushes. In a more ambiguous example, putting up conspiratorial warnings about Martians and their attempt to subjugate humans with onions at a 4-way intersection and watching how many people get distracted when the light turns green. That last one actually sounds potentially more dangerous than it was, in reality it was about the same as someone putting up ads on the sidewalk.

I look forward to the final episode of season 1 that continues into season 2. Meanwhile, I will enjoy it all.

I remember no actual games (Genshin is gambling not game to me too Gacha to count for me) on the list. So how about FF16 quite a few deep characters dealing with heavy subjects. You could even cover the NPC's with psychology stuff and such to figure out the punchlines of several quests. Sea of Stars is another great opportunity to delve into Psychology in a very different way. Rom com/gal games are to narrow a genre where I see it as play 1 great one and ruin all the tricks for the others that would be worth discussing. Genshin I just hate the slot machine factor drawing luck for characters; just no. Look great but a mechanic I loathe in games. But point is my suggestions are for the depth of their stories and the feels I got from them.
