As for your info, this episode marks the end of Volume 1. It's typical for pilot volumes to be 'throw it at a wall and see what people like' kind of thing. Volume 2+ will get the adjustments from the learned lessons. Yumiko gets toned down a bit and the other character traits, which the anime glossed over so far will be more prominent. Although the anime will continue to gloss over her, not much of a problem since she is a side character. That's the reason why Yumiko isn't liked as much by the anime community, while she is liked by the Light Novel community and straight up loved by the fanfiction community.

There is indeed an anime called "If her flag breaks". Basically, the mc can see flags of all kinds (love, friendship, death etc) above people's heads. Due to survivor's guilt, he tries to break all the flags he sees so as to remain alone, but soon enough runs into people he either can't break the flags of or don't have one at all. It's a harem anime with a total clusterfuck of a narrative, but if you don't take it too seriously it's a somewhat fun watch.

This story is just brilliant. Its amazing how much depth even the first scene brought to hachimans character, and how it expressed the conflict within himself, as well as how the societal status quo may lead to feelings of inadequacy
