Spain, Sweden, England, etc coaches have the ability to deal with only having their players for short periods of time. I always wonder what makes UWSNT practices better or at a higher level than say laura harvey's practices for the reign

England went to the World Cup missing half of their starting 11 through injuries the USWNT has no excuses for their abysmal performances. The Emma Hayes hire is not a done deal any more than Tony Gustavsson is done deal. Either of those choices will cause huge upheaval for their respective teams. I suggested Pia Sundhage because she's superbly qualified and available NOW which is VERY important to USWNT. No way can USWNT wait until Hayes comes free in May after WSL season ends. None of what Lisa had to say is relevant to coaching a National Team. That's not to demean Emma as a manager, nor is to say that she can't mold the US back to the top of the table. It's just not the same type of situation where she can "build her own team". We'll see what they are like in the Olympics. Of course, the one manager they'd like to have is unavailable and obviously there are not other managers that qualify to take the position. Not saying it's bad hire. Just saying Lisa is full of it with trying to justify that all of Emma's experience will translate. But, lets hope it does work to our favor. Talking heads, do you ever just get your fill of them?

@couturecriminal8330-Absolutely agree, but because the almighty dollar speaks louder than it ever has in the history of professional sports these days, I would bet my life (and said so as much last year after hearing her in an interview saying just how much she enjoyed her stay with the *Chicago Red Stars* as there manager from 2008/2010) that *Emma Hayes* most definitely will be patrolling the sidelines for the *USWNT* the next time any of us see her managing after her stay with *Chelsea* comes to an end at the conclusion of this current campaign. That said, as the US Women’s team is currently constructed, I don’t even think the the good lord himself could turn that ship around. So best of luck to her, because I really & truly do believe that she will need it once she takes the reigns in America, as well.
